Wondering if this will work on T-mobile and if so how easy it is to unlock. Thanks!
Sent from my HTC Glacier using Tapatalk
Yes, if you unlock the sim then you can use it but it will only be 2G/EDGE speeds, NOT 3G.
Depending on how you acquired the phone there a couple ways to unlock it, either by calling AT&T (if you have someone who has been a longstanding customer do it) or you can buy an unlock code online.

Well that sucks...
ATT and t-mobile use different frequencies for their 3G/4G networks, so it will only use the frequencies they share in the 2G/EDGE range. I think that is a physical restriction and not something that can be fixed with a radio flash.

Is anyone here using their Atrix 4G unlocked on T-Mobile or anyone other carrier which is not AT&T?
I unlocked it with a tmob sim last night. Noticed I did not get bars with it though

im using mines and works great
I have used mine with three different carriers and no problems (US, UK, SP).
I use Simple Mobile. Does anyone know of another carrier in the U.S that could provide 4g speeds with AT&T bands?
I just gave away my spare atrix to my wife's friend. She's on T-Mobile and hasn't had any problems yet. I did warn her she's on 2g forever and ever.

Yea I use T-Mobile... I got more bars with the Atrix than I got with my last T-Mobile phone lmao... I use prepaid so 2g-4g doesn't affect me...
how can I get it to run 4G on T-mobile?

It will always be slow since its on 2g, nothing you can do.
Why aren't there laws that make it so cell phones are all interchangeable? Something like consumer freedom so you can buy any phone you want and use it on the carrier of your choice.
Use straight talk. Hspa compatible.

Actually, T-Mobile has said they're going to start adopting AT&T's 3G bands with the hope that Apple will let them sell subsidized iPhones. So depending on where you live, you may get 3G on the Atrix. I agree though, more interoperability is needed. This GSM/CDMA split we have is ridiculous.
I'm not using T-Mobile right now, but in a year (when my contract expires) I'm switching to one of their value plans and will unlocking my Atrix to use with them if I'm still happy with it. Given that so far the only spec I see improving on newer phones is the screen resolution, I think it'll still be plenty usable when that happens.

I love rezound very much, but you won't get a phone that you can not call and using internet. I'm with Vodafone AU, and the phone works for Verizon with LTE 4G.
Are there anyway to make it work with WCDMA? Any way to unlock or hack it?
Big thanks! Please help me become one of Rezounders in the future!
I want to help you ,but I dont know how to do ...

I'm not an expert or a dev, but I know for sure that we can't do much at all in the way of hacking until s-off is achieved. Furthermore, I could be wrong but I don't think the rezound supports wcdma.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
The Rezound only operates on the CDMA2000 and LTE standards on top of operating only at specific bands.
Despite the similar name, WCDMA is not the same as "CDMA" - it is a GSM variant and is therefore not compatible with the Rezound, as the Rezound does not support nor contain a radio for that standard.
so then what is the diff between;
lte/voice
lte global
lte/cdma(auto)
I'm in a spot where Verizon says isn't the best coverage; although I'm constantly between 2-3 lte bars. is one superior than others

I had 3g goin while talking on the phone.....if that helps....

No, this phone can not be used as a world phone. You will be unable to use it on either CDMA or LTE. Not to mention, you have to have a Verizon LTE SIM to program the phone.
Next time, search! The answers to all these simple questions are in the forum.
Hey everyone, I just purchased a used Verizon HTC Rezound off eBay and am following the instructions laid out in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1421341
I've tried the various options: GSM only, WCDMA only, WCDMA preferred, etc. with no luck thus far. Does anyone know if this is not compatible with Bell's network? I've seen others who've successfully used this phone on Rogers and Fido here in Canada. Any input would be much appreciated.
Thanks a lot!
What bands does Bell use? You should be able to get 2g on the very least.

I'm not exactly sure, but I think my worst fears have been confirmed. I just tried my brother's Rogers sim in the phone and it worked immediately. It's very likely that Bell's frequency bands are not supported by this device.

As long as its a gsm network, you should be able to get 2g/edge on the very least.
Make sure to plug in the back door cover though, the gsm antenna is there.

Thanks for the tip, but I do believe incompatible Bell frequency band is the issue. It's unfortunate, but that's the risk I took when I bought it.

I know the specs show that it has AT&T LTE bands, but had anybody actually used it on AT&T LTE yet? If so, please report your impressions.
Thanks.

I'm confused why so many people are worried about unlocking and band compatibility. Get the one from your own carrier !

Works exactly the same for me using an AT&T SIM in the T-Mobile HTC one. The other way around, I get less HSPA+ service using an AT&T SIM in a T-Mobile HTC One.

No. The AT&T one doesn't fully support T-Mobile while the T-Mobile one fully supports BOTH T-Mobile and AT&T.
For people who don't want CDMA-based service, the T-Mobile version is the best one to buy for compatibility.

Are you sure about that, Maybe the AT&T version needs to be unlocked for it to work on T-Mobile's HSPA+ Network. I hope like hell it does because I would like to have the 64gb version working on my Network of choice, T-Mobile of course.

This has been discussed to death on the boards.
All the phones have the same internal radio hardware but what's been flashed to each device is different.
i got a att version unlock, big mistake for tmobile. i flashed tmobile rom and radio. alot of places in new york i get 2G which it was constant 4G with my note 2. Place where i get 4G i only get 7mbps. while with my note 2 i was able to get up to 18mbps. Order the tmobile version will return this one. The only reason i bought this is because they had it locally in ATT store while tmobile htc one is on backorder and not avail in any store.
Unfortunately Samsung doesn't just make the same model for both I would imagine it would save them money also but att phones work slow on T-Mobile but other way around your golden

They're both CDMA carriers and need to be provisioned so probably not.

But sprint is a no go? (thank for the help guys) I know t-mobile and att are similar and Verizon and sprint are similar, but I don't understand the provisioning thing very much... I thought that was an old thing they did before it was all done thru sim cards, as I understand it now, Verizon, t mobile, and at&t assuming the phone is unlocked and has the correct frequencies available, should all be interchangeable? But sprint can't work unless the phone is a sprint exclusive due to provisioning?

Both still run on CDMA lte is for data and some voice only. CDMA I believe is still used for activation. They need to provision or "okay" phones to be used on their network.
