Can't back out of App Drawer - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

For some (extremely annoying) reason, I can't use the back button to get out of the App Drawer, and it's EXTREMELY frustrating. It's only just started playing up and was fine yesterday. Is there a fix? Cheers.

I'm currently using band 1.6.1 and if you can see the picture. Why does it make it look like I'm putting a password on a search bar? My wife runs the same rom and doesn't do it. I have done a factory reset. Reflashed. Anyone come across this? Thx

Maybe try a different browser just to see if anything changes, hasn't happened to me using xScope pro yet.
It's only their widget and mobile browser, its fine if you switch to desktop mode
try using a different browser like miren or dolphin

XDA app FC

Anyone have a fix? Every time I hit back the XDA app fc?
Sent from my cm_tenderloin using xda app
Until the last update the xda app was useless. Since then its usable, but still not great. There is no way to change settings. There is no menu key, and I can't get soft key simulators to bring up the menu so you can't change any settings. It FCs for me if I try to open settings from the more tab.

[Q] profiles constantly changing

Hey guys, I am currently running a gs2 with cm9 rom, and the cm9 kernel, however if I have my phone on any of the profiles I.e silent vibrate or loud etc, I constantly switches between the profiles automatically, roughly every ten seconds .
Things I have done:
Flashed a newer nightly
Crashed system UI and restarted it.
Done all the wipes when flashing roms.
Changed between themes and icon packs.
Any other options for me guys? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advanced guys

Try to set Profile to default (hold Power key) and then switch sound mode.
Thanks for quick response, just checked that and it is on default, I wish I could record a video of the screen to show you what's happening

Strange thing.
Try to:
1. flash RC (http://download.cyanogenmod.com/get/jenkins/3457/cm-9.0.0-RC1-galaxys2.zip)
2. make Nandroid backup, format system, flash CM9 again
3. change kernel
4. make logcat (aLogcat form GPlay or through adb on PC)
I have no more ideas right now.
OK thanks mate will do that when I have a PC available, thanks for the help well give feedback later

Well strangely enough it fixed itself over night, however thank you for the help anyway

(Q) How do I stop my phone from auto closing apps?

I am currently using a Samsung Galaxy Note LTE and this phone is really getting on my nerves. Sometimes I am using an app halfway and it suddenly auto-close for absolutely no reason. Just to note, it's running on Android 4.0.4 ICS.
Maybe I should have bought an GS3 or something else other than this garbage.

This is a very strange behavior, indeed. What do you mean by using an app halfway?
Maybe you should do a factory reset, with a nandroid backup first....

Uninstall the apps which would force close suddenly.
I meant that I was like playing a game and in the middle of a race, it suddenly auto close.
Sometimes even Google Chrome and the default browser would auto close. Restarting my device would be a temporary fix and it would auto close again once it's 'overloaded'. Currently, I tried putting the maximum background running apps at 4. Still observing whether it works or not.

Have you tried clearing the Cache of your device?
How do I do that?
Sent from my GT-N7005 using xda premium
Since you are in ics, you won't have the option available by default.. So I suggest you to use some third party apps for this.. You can try app2sd available in android market.. Even though the main purpose of this app is not clearing cache, you have the option to do this.. Have a try..

You can use apps Memorry booter.
Thanks a lot. Does this actually prevents any auto closing in future?
Isn't that the same as task killer apps?

Annoying SMS POPUP NOTIFICATIONS

Hello All,
This is regarding one of the most annoying issue that many users like me are facing.
I'm currently running neat rom lite version 4.7.
Please know that I have searched through Google to know about this issue, but apparently there were only problems mentioned but no solutions for it.
Please look into the attached image and suggest if anything can be done with regard to this?
Thanks in advance

Nothing of this is mentioned on the ROM thread?
Looks like an ad, a factory reset should solve it.
It must be related to a certain app; which one? I dunno

Hehe.. The funny thing is that i have tried multiple rons but its always been there.. It is defintely not coming from a user installed app
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Not so lite after all.
Are you sure the dev doesn't know how to remove that or why it's there?
Hold on, there's got to be a way to disable that, check your settings.
Sent from the little guy
Haha..
Well I hope someone can come up with a solution for this

Have u tried looking into the 'Settings' of the Sms app and seen any option there to turn of the 'Pop up notification' for now
That would have been the first thing someone like me would be looking at

Maybe there is something wrong......after wipes, did you use Titanium Backup to restore apps?Maybe one of them is creating the issue. Also, you can try to run a Nuke Script, after hat flash a CM 4.2.2 ROM
Well after reinstalling the rom, i used a software called mybackup pro to restore everything.
If i remember right, even after the full wipe and reinstall, this problem persists
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
That's a settings conflict, restore the app, try txting and then restore your previous settings.
Sent from the little guy
Could you please make it clear what you meant?

Txt yourself.
