[q] ics youtube apk on gingerbread rom? - HTC Rezound

Just wondering if we can get this apk on the GB roms, tried it on ICS the picture quality on the videos were incredible

It's a newer version of the app and most apps are not backward compatible. Maybe if someone were to decompile/recompile it, but then the framework is also different so it'd probably be a hack at best.

Can't wait

Is the stock Gingerbread browser apk available?

I'd love to dump this stock Sammy browser and install it.
Thanks for any help here.
The browser is tied into the framework and lots of other bits of the rom, so just dumping the apk in won't work.
In the end, its not really practical.
Try cm if you want a stock android feel, or try dolphin hd

Honeycomb has new apis not present in present gingerbread so it probably wont work. You'll have to wait for ics

I suppose all custom ROMs based on a stock one should have it (unless the dev manages to break this functionality somehow).

Would you plz list some of the custom ROMs based on the stock one.
I am now having slimgen 1.6 and it doesn't support HW decoding for divx, which previously done greatly with my gingerbread 2.3.3

Come on, man!
If you have a fully functional brain and a browser supporting tabs, all you have to do is open a bunch of ROMs at once and check if they are based on any stock ROM (I assure you it is really easy).
Besides that, I'm not near a computer right now.

Well if you still need help, Optimus1 Origins 2.0 and Resurrection 2.0 are based are based on the stock rom.
You might want to head to the Optimus One Android Development section to look for other stock based roms

decoding
or you could get a 3rd party video player for your O1
i use moboplayer or mxplayer
Audio and video are not synced well in those mx players and so for me. the native divx codec (hardware decoding) do have fine performance.

I got list of some roms with Divx vod registration :
Hydrogen,open optimus etc.
But where is the source. I found most of the download links expired or file not found message.
Could anyone provide download links for open optimus or suggest some gb based roms which you find good.
Thanks in advance for your support..:

Many apps and games aren't much compatible to ics. Wait for an update.

Vine app for 2.3

I was wondering if there was any possible way to get Vine (video sharing app) to work on 2.3 even though it is specifically made for Android 4.0+. I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question, but i really want this app.
Thanks.

Sorry, but 4.0 apps only work on 4.0 and above. You could try installing one of the 4.0/4.1 roms like cm9 or cm10 and install Vine, but even then Im not sure if it would work since the camcorder doesnt work in either rom, with the exception of downloading the third party app video cam illusions or whatever. But Im pretty sure that app only allows recording in itself. Looks like we have to miss out on Vine
