i have a problem with the external sd for my galaxy s 2 i9100
the problem is :
when insert the sd card the phone cannot read it when i go

settings > storge > sd card
it say :

total space: unavailable
available space: unavailable
mount sd & format sd "colored grey and inactive"

the sd card can be readable on my pc and my galaxy i9003

brother same problem to me for 8gb but its ok for 2gb etc just try 2gb and post
Have you tried turning the phone off and on after inserting the sd card?
or
Did you install a custom rom? If yes, this might be the problem. I suggests you reinstall the firmware.

i'm official rom not custom one :S
So what is solution for that?
Next step is try a different sd card if it works its faulty sd card .
If not working backup data and factory reset the phone .

i have tried all thing but all wasted ... factory default... card format ... etc etc its work on other phones like nokia but not in samsung galaxy s2
As mentioned before, have you tried using a different micro SD card?
If that doesn't work, it probably means that your phone is faulty.
I can't think of any other reason!

teah i tried other sd cards but only 512 mb to 2gb are working fine more than 2gb like 4,8 gb are not working

SD Card problem
Hi,
I have problem with an 8GB microSD card.
I've got this card with SE Xperia X10, than in december I got Galaxy S2 without card. So I put the card into Galaxy S2 and it worked fine.
But yesterday S2 frozened and after reboot it recognized the SD card, but couldn't use it properly: apps (installed on SD card) didn't work, I couldn't format it or just detach it.
I've tried another SD card (2GB) and it worked but not all the time. The problem appears and disappears everytime I reboot the phone with this 2GB card.
The 8GB card works in another Android phone: Xperia X10 Mini Pro, but not in Xperia X10 or Galaxy S2.
I've official Android ICS rom on Galaxy S2, official Android GB on Xperia X10.
On PC both of the cards works fine, and I've formatted (quick on normal) the 8GB card (to FAT32).
I don't care of Xperia X10, but Galaxy S2 is important for me.
Please, help me! I don't know if the card or the phone is wrong.

Hey guys! I kinda need some help here.
Here's the deal. I just bought a 16GB Kingston Micro HC 4 SDcard for my SE MiniPro U20i on 2.0.A.0.504, intending to install app2sd, following this guide.
Didn't go well at all.
The phone was already rooted, so I prepared both the partitions needed, and with USB debug on,i started the process, but it halted whith some kind of error, different from the one expected but i thought it had worked. It didn't.
The phone started rebooting frequently and saying the sdcard was corrupt. I tryed a different 16GB sdcard, same story... i flashed the phone in two different ways, used a different SIM card and nothing worked.
But then, I tryed the sd card on a X10 mini E10i and it worked perfectly! Oh well.
I just installed app2sd on my old 4GB sdcard in the U20i, and it's working. I'm fresh out of ideas as of why my phone isn't supporting the 16 GB sdcard.
Does anyone have an Idea?

well first of all format the memory card and create partition using a memory card reader dont use minipro to use it create it to ext3 and install app2sd by xrecovey method that's all cause i am using 16 gb class 6 memory card

Make sure to format it through Ssettings - Storage.
ok here is full information
i have 512mb,2 gb sd cards which are working fine on s2 all of them
but i have kingston 8 and 16 gb sd card which are not wokring not even showing in setting>storage its said unavailable
but on other phones like e71,e63 and pc its working fine
hi sir i am using lww rooted 4.0.4 version and recently i brought 32 gb sandisk ,i tried this way http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/SD_card_partitioning after that my memory card not detecting in my phone but working in pc via microsd adapter,
when i tried with my 4gb in my phone it is working again good plz help me
how my 32gb card works back again :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
I don't know what's the format for 32gb, but i suggest deleting all partitions and formatting the whole tring... i use fat32 in my 4gb sd card

Just delete & format all the partition of your sd card through minitool & create a fat32 partition as a whole. It will solve things

I am really scared, because I don't know what I did
Point is I own a Samsung Galaxy S2 (i9100) and a 16GB micro SD card. My phone was rooted and working fine till this morning when I decided to do more experiments. I formatted my entire phone, hoping to load the newest nightly (cyanogenmod) and 4.4.4 gapps.
But now when I put my microSD card in my adapter to format the card instead of 16GB it shows 30.6 MB in the computer and I can't access the card to copy the files.
I use a Mac 10.9.4
I want to now buy a 32 GB micro sd card and load everything on it and then flash it on the CWM I suppose. What files do I need to copy to the new micro SD card or is there a way out with the old one to make it work?
I am really confused and scared. Looking for your help.
Hi , I have Samsung Galaxy S5 G900F .I have in phone originall stock rom 6.0.1. I rooted phone today .After reboot ,phone don´t read my sd card.My sd card is San Disk 128GB and I bought it yesterday.I tried my sd card in other phone and it is OK.But my phone don´t read other sd cards.Phone internal memory is 16gb but when I connect phone to PC it shows internal memory is only 127mb.Before I rooted phone it showed 11gb on my PC.But now only 127mb.When I try to browse my files in internal memory on phone it don´t work.When I try to open internal memory it don´t do nothing.When I want to start camera it don´t work and it write text "Before using the camera, turn off the USB DEVICES".And Gallery is not working too.I don´t know what to do.Please is there somebody to help me?????? take a backup of you sd card and format your sd card as a fat32 file type and try again please
