here we can post how our battaries lasts and which programs or setting lead to accelerate battery drain.
for me,
1.working hours:
*maximum working hours were 35 hrs
2.usage rate:
*moderate usage; 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth (up to more than 4 hrs continually by playing songs by PowerAmp when connected with my car's headunit)
3.optimum setting (my personal opinion):
* 1-make sure your accounts & sync: -background data & auto sync- unchecked.
2-motion setting: uncheck it.
3-location & security: uncheck my location setting.
4-latitude: logout from your google latitude account or choose not to let google collect your locations.
5-data network mode: don't forget to de-activate it every time you dont need it by hold press on power button and select either to activate it or deactivate.
I'm using this setting always and get satisfaction for SGS2 battery performance which was before lasts for only 12 hours
And don't forget that GB 2.3.5 has the favor for maximize battery performance.
seems like someone is trying to reach that important number of 10
Ricey
It depends how much i use it?!?!?!

Mine lasts one billion hours. I swear.
Battery life also largely depends on what rom and kernel you're using... so this is kind of pointless really.

Agreed,
+ modem = signal strength,
+ data mode, wifi or 3G/Edge, airplane mode,
+ Brightness levels,
+ Syncing,
+ personal usage patterns,
+ other factors......
It's irrelevant to compare battery life.
Three days before today it lasted for five days from 100% to 30% charge .
Today a 100% charge has lasted only four hours .
Tomorrow it should last much longer as it will be switched off .
So yes pointless OP and has not this same topic been posted before .
If you want to check kernels their is a poster in most of the kernel threads that has done some testing of kernels and battery on his phone not your phone .

by using siyah kernal v 2.6.9
today is the fourth day !!

hahah, this was my surprise
now my battery level is about 39 %

Hey, got my phone yesterday and it's been great.
Updated to KE7 via Kies and I haven't done root yet.
Battery is good. 3G or wifi always on, but when I see the battery stats, they show high percentage of Android OS (16%) and Android System (19%).
Also, 9% of Wi-fi sharing, but I haven't used it yet.
Is there a way to reduce this numbers?
Is it ok if I kill wi-fi sharing here?
Thanks

Just use the phone and dont be another paranoid about usage stats .
You can kill WiFi sharing its sharing your WiFi with others for free .
The page you are looking at says of the xxx amount of power used
the power has been used mostly by the display etc etc .
It is not a measure of the battery power just how its total use has been proportioned out .
No battery stats 100% charged switch on Display shows 74% .
Thats 74% of the 1/4 % of battery used not 74% of the battery .

I don't have wifi sharing turned on it with KE7 it keeps using up the most resources of anything. I ended up having to freeze it.

thanks man.
I'm not paranoid yet.
I'm just concerned if my phone may have any issues.
Actually I don't notice any of the problems people report here.
GPS is locking fine, battery is good. Wi-fi keeps on most of times, it's not getting too hot, etc.
I've just done my first full charge since yesterday.
I'll see how it will perform.
Another question. I can't turn data off. Downloaded APNdroid but it doesn't turn it off.
Is there a way I can put a toggle in the notification bar with wi-fi, GPS, etc?
Hi guys i would like to ask what is your best/average display time on a full single charge? Please vote on the poll above. It would also be good if you can state your display brightness / using auto brightness and post a screen shot of your display time, graph and percentage.
For those who have no idea how to get there simply follow these steps: Settings > About Phone > Battery Usage > Display
To take a screen shot simply press the home button and power/lock button (the home button should be pressed slightly earlier than the power/lock button).
Here's my best:

However my average is around 3 to 4.5 hours and my brightness is just slightly above the min brightness (i dont use auto brightness). I'm on stock ROM and stock battery by the way for those wondering.
Display time is about 7h max, tweak your standby drain if you want more. My best was 8h 20min with extended battery and about 10 h standby.;-)
Really irrelevant where CPU usage, data, wifi, flight mode, screen brightness, GPS, background apps, services etc etc etc are not taken into consideration.....
Edit: In short, the post is way too general.

Getting around 5 to 5 1/2 hours usually over the course of one day.
I've managed 10+ hours with C3D night mode (black background, red text), lowest brigthness, energy saver (800 MHZ max) and flight mode on. But that must be close to the upper limit methinks.
I have a question about Project Epsilon v3 ROM.
I'm currently on 676.226.3.XT910.Retail.en.EU ICS leak.
I'm going to install this rom via Bootmenu.
And here is my question. Do I have to wipe data or only cache and dalvik? Or maybe I don't have to wipe data but it is better to do so?
Thanks in advance!
Better do it I personally always do that, or just follow the ROM guidelines, now is easier to get all the apps with titanium and other apps.
Also to update from v3 to v4 I recommend full wipes to because I had some problems with wallpapers and widgets.
Sent from my XT910 using xda app-developers app
Thanks! I did the wipe, however I have few new question.
First. Is it really worth to upgrade to v4? I heard that there are some problem with it and some people said that it's better to stick to V3.
Second. I did battery calibration like in ROM guide once (Did it today that's why), however I'm still having terrible battery life with display taking 80% of power. Any solution for that?
I'd stay in V3. What do you call terrible battery life? There are some threads that approach battery "readings". The info portrayed by widgets and some apps could be misleading IMHO. That 80% is how much battery the screen has used but not out of the total battery. I have gotten almost two days on a single charge, and screen consumption is never less than 70%. That is regardless of the time i check the battery information. It seems battery will constantly be in that 70, 80% area.

And it always takes 1-2 days or more for the battery to "settle" when you change ROM.
Try using CPU Sleeper in Play. It switches off 1 of the cores on a dual/quad core phone, everytime your screen is turned off. It works better than the Sleep option when you press the On/Off button on the phone, this Sleep option doesn't ring when someone tries calling you. With CPU Sleeper - on my tests it lost 5% battery life in 12 hours.

Wow if that is the case I'm going to give that a shot!!
I have one more question.
I use blur camera but i miss this cool sound when taking photo that was on GB and ICS Leak. But in project epsilon there is only some kind of beeb. Is it possible to bring back photo making sound? xP! That would be coool!
i saw a new app for optimizing battery life on google play, it saves ur battery while screen is off by turning all the connections on and off in intervals that u choose.. the change was obvious for me and i liked the app alot so i wanted to share
battery life used to be about 10 hours per charge with minimum use.. now it is about 20 hours.. this is a good application that i recommend to every xperia user and any other phones!
What does it turn off apart from data connection?

Uhm GreenPower its not a new application, in fact its a little old, I already have some time with it... like a year or so..
Its pretty good, I try Juice Defender and its good too, but in the time this was cheaper, and I say well, lets try it and see, and its pretty good actually, and it updates with bugfixes (for new android versions, or new smartphones that has bugs) and new features....

you can control your wifi and 3G connections, bluetooth, sync options, and the traffic of the data (you can for example activate the sync every 30 minutes, and then turn it off, or the traffic data turn it 15 minutes or 30 to receive notifications and then it will turn off for another 15 minutes, you can choose how much time you want)
all this is in the paid version there is a free version but its too limited....
take alook its really good

it turns off wifi and turns it on in intervals unless its active (which i see pretty good), it turns off bluetooth when not needed and it controls the autosync to let u use it only when connected to a power supply! as i mentioned my battery life is twice better now!

It's around 1.7%/h for my Snapdragon S10 lite. Is this normal?
It's normal if some media is running in background, for example. My phone has an average of 0,8%/hour according to AccuBattery.
turn off Bixby and google
turn off adaptive brightness
Seems a little high but I'm on a 10+ with 4300ma battery. Adjust accordingly to your battery capacity.
Nominal AOD battery usage should be about 1% an hour. You can enable tap on for AOD to help determine the source of the drain; usage should be very low like that.
Goggle Backup Transport and Backup Transport Framework were causing excessive battery drain for me both with SOT and off.
Update: left my phone at 99% and woke up to 80%
Here is the usage: GSAM
Look at the 5h of Significant Motion Detector usage of Google Play Services and how the Netflix app is using so much battery (I never opened that app since buying the phone...)
I then proceeded to install Better battery stats and found after some hours of usage a huge Spotify battery drain related to the Linear acceleration sensor.
I am getting kind of tired. Since I started using android (Nokia X2, Lenovo K6 power, Redmi note 7 then S10 lite), I have had some kind of a battery drain on all of those devices. Getting tired of troubleshooting problems rather than use the damn phone.
Ditch spotify or lock it down.
You probably have more crapware...
You need to learn how to optimize these phones.
Play with it.
Hey guys its me again.
I disabled Spotify and still have 20% drain overnight...
What can I do please?
it's great

Install Galaxy Labs>Battery Tracker from the Galaxy store and see what apks it shows is running at night.
Wipe cache in recovery. View what app use your battery. If this don't help make HR (hard reset and wipe all data , ) if this don't help use guarantee ...
I manually updated to One UI 3.0.
No more battery drain as far as I can tell. I will update with overnight drain.
