I have brought this up in other threads, but it seems that every thread I read people constantly talk about how they have less "bars" than another device. I don't know if this is ICS related, ASUS related, or what, but "bars" do not mean the same thing on this device compared to others.
Please use Tricoder/WiFi Analyzer and not "bars" as your reference of connectivity. (or, speedtests)
Might be ICS related. My Galaxy Nexus always has low bars but when I look at the dBm it is slightly better than the GB Sprint phone next to it showing full bars. My Galaxy Nexus also shows low wifi signal just like my TFP.

1. If I understand it right, WiFi Analyzer shows the relative strength that each device is getting. But is that necessarily directly related to speed of the Wifi?
2. When you said "(or speedtests)" did you mean to use them or not to use them? I find the Speedtest on each device give an actual real world idea of download speed at that time.
3. I've used WiFi Analyzer quite a bit and don't see a lot of difference when looking with two different tablets. But I do see a difference using Speedtest.
Tried the program and didnt see much of a difference between Prime and my acer a100 besides GPS of course. Is there anything specific I should be looking at?

What are you trying to figure out? My only point was I see post after post of people saying they have less "bars" than another device but that isn't a good way to gauge signal or throughput.

For some reason, especially in a weaker signal are, my iPad speeds are almost better than download. I think that OS strange too

You mean the prime to the right looks a little dull? The acer a100 screen isn't bad at all its just that one angle viewing from the bottom. Some games or apps looks way sharper on it.

Hey all,
I was becoming pretty frustrated with having to use my transformer on my desk flat, or use something to prop it up. I've seen some of the ones available in the stores, but could never find one in store which I liked. So I decided to make a stand of my own, and like how it turned out. Unfortunately it isn't adjustable, but the angle is set to something I'd be comfortable with. Let me know what you guys think. BTW, I used all bits and pieces of pine I could find in the yard. So total cost today = $0. Thanks for looking!

Thanks. I'm planning on using it as a desktop stand. It also works well as a lap desk now that I've tried it.
Not sure how I should finish it though. As you can see, the wood glue shows on the joint and looks a little ugly. I was thinking of spraying a clear varnish over the natural wood? What do you guys think?

It seemed just like all the other carriers but yes best buy only has the working demos some out some not. I had to request to see it. The note seems fast I can't wait to return the iPhone 5 I just hope Samsung stays and updates fast when needed. Note 2 plus unlimited lte should Rock

So is everybody under consensus that this LACKS the Wifi Toggle in the Notification Pulldown, and it has the annoying persistent "Turn On Wifi" Notification? And does that bother anybody?

Have the white GS3, I miss a dark colored phone. I admit it was unique having a white phone, but the white is a distraction, it doesn't allow the screen to blend into the phone as much as I would like. Just my 2c, and the button? It's obnoxious, like Mike tysons face tattoo. Shouldn't be there. Ah well!

I had an s3 when they first released. Yes...the WiFi notification is rather annoying. But if the note2 doesn't have the toggles you want. Check out power toggles in gplay. I use it all the time. Its awesome and doesn't require root access.

I'm sure there will be once some development goes live. I believe there was a way to remove it on the s3 w/o requiring root. I believe the app that was used is called SqLite. Don't hold me to that though. I could be wrong.

SQLite is a database engine. Maybe a sql database was edited to turn off the notification?

White isn't original and dull. The home button is ridiculous. I purchased home button stickers to cover Verizon up..

Yep, though root was required to make this change. I wouldn't be too worried though, a fix for this issue should be quick after root is gained

Sadly like most reviews they have no pictures of the note side by side of last years android model phones. I got my note finally (the grey one) and my rezound is the exactly the size of the screen area of the note. The s pen works better than I expected it too, but I purchased this for the screen size(my rezound has the same resolution), the 2GB of ram, removable battery, and the microsd slot.
I still cant access it from phone. Hmmmm

Verizon adding an ongoing wifi notification, axing the toggle.

I went ahead and took one for the team. The update DOES break root, but running TowelRoot v1 again re-establishes root access.

Breaks root. TR brings it back no problem.
Feels a little snappier. Could just be psychosomatic. Everything I use on the regular works fine. Pandora, facebook, tinder, etc.
Seems to move a little quicker for me too. Fcaebook is definitely moving faster, especially Messenger.

The desktop renders at least twice as fast when the phone is inserted into the station now.
Can anyone please tell me how to fix this?
The cell radio is much better now. Adjustments to the sensors, random graphical glitches when placing the phone in the station have been fixed

It was a new one with this device.. Their tech support said occasionally they don't register correctly...

Mine has definitely take a massive hit , although I'm on vacation in places with extremely spotty reception (Yellowstone) so it may be worse case scenario (I can't even go half a day with light use sometimes). I've resorted to setting the cpu frequency to minimum when screen off with SetCPU and if has seemed to help.
No battery hit here. If anything, I've seen a slight improvement.

is US sim card a must or Europe one will fit? Because I have tried 2 different EU sim's and it didn't work. I will maybe perform a system reset to check if it helps.

Oh my. So on AOSP I don't have NFC, gyroscope, accelerometer, USB-OTG and white balance controls? Can anyone confirm?
I'm on the verge of unlocking the bootloader to run AOSP, but if this is the case with the current builds, that are based on the only Sony sources, I'm really let down. It's practically unusable.

Well thats what i have seen so far on my device... AOSP is pretty useless for anything but using the 810 as a nice hand warmer Going to flash back the stock FW on my unlocked bootloader and see if the white balance still works

Does the unlocked LTE version support both voice and data on AT&T network? If so, which model is best to get?
