Nvm, post does not pertain to actual purpose of the thread.

Well so far I can't tell too much of a difference other than I'm having greater fluctuation of 3g speeds. 3g service is holding constant though. I live in an urban area and I still have the occasional 1x service, and like you said, this was not so on eclipse. I'd like to run more speed testing later as well. I will edit this post with screens of my tests. There is was a substantial difference in the fluctuations than normal.

I 'll reply back and tell you why I think that is. I'm driving home. That's kind of the reason I recommended in a rural setting

I'd like to hear. I've had connectivity issues in my area as well is why I figured I would try. Even in an urban/suburban area.

In my rural area I don't have many towers to select from. I thought if I could see if it works well in a rural area I might find a pattern. There is probably a few towers around your area since its urban so I thought maybe its making yours jump towers alot. I did speed tests about noon and I found it was consistantly 1.5-2mbps download. More so then that or swapping back and forth from 3g to 1x I was finding I got rid of my data hangups. That was the main issue for this mod.
I just did this yesterday so I'm still trying it out for long term results
Sent from my DROID X2 using Xparent Blue Tapatalk

Well, I'm in the same boat as you. It seems to me I have more than my share of data hangups. I'll give this a try for a few days and let ya know if it helps any.

Its cool I edited the post more I didn't think about how I worded it...sorry
I think 1x often is more cuz of the network. Have u tried *228 to update your prl *22899 auto updates both option 1 and 2 in the *228 menu but doesn't verbally say its updated when done but your screen will
Sent from my Cyanocrack using Xparent Blue Tapatalk

Just updated. I've never hung around to even hear option 2 lol. Usually when I have to do this there are new roms or some problems to attend to.
I'm going to edit the previous post away

Option 2 updates prl (preferred roaming list. Good thing to update once in a while

I have found that so far I had decreased data hangups with this but speeds fluctuated a lot like Caden experienced.

Doesn't look like I can get anyone to duplicate my results. Editing out of op. Trial concluded. Thanks to those who tried it

I am using this and the 3g speed hack (used 10) all is good. 1500 k on speedtest depending on the nearest cell.
Thanks.

Try the mod in the dev forum....different lib but sounds like you have a good thing going

That's the 3g I ment. I live 3/4 of a mi from a Hub.
Edit What num head I WAS ON WIFI @ 2.5 MIPS!
That's 1.5 mips TO 1.7 mips on 3g.
I was trying out the task bar at the bottom - that is my excuse !

How to Watch Sprint's Strategy/Network Meeting LIVE

http://briefmobile.com/how-to-listenwatch-sprints-strategynetwork-meeting-tomorrow
The meeting can be accessed two different ways:
Call-In – Call 1-888-393-1149 and use 6395937 as your ID. Make sure you call in about 10 minutes ahead of time to be sure there no problems for getting though. This way is not recommended for most.
Webcast – Go to here, like the “Webcast” link and register. Now you are watching it live! The webcast should start promptly at 9:30am. Remember to join ten minutes ahead of time. This is the way I recommend. (Mainly because it’s easy to watch at work or in class.)
Cool.
Setting myself up to be disappointed & somewhat satisfied.
My basic concern is experiencing a noticeable & noteworthy no no... Make that a hat tipping, river dancing difference in 3G performance, the 800Mhz band & current Wimax reliability during the roll out of this.

I expect the best actually. Sprint has been drastically improving their network in most of the larger areas. Network Vision has had a smooth progression through the states. They haven't enabled it fully yet, but it'll come in the next year or so. We'll get more detail tomorrow morning.

Would those who have tried this comment on battery life?
Battery life is fine, just as good as stock.
Couple concerns for those of you who are still using stock.
1. Phone heats up really easily now, I've never had this problem before.
2. Signal seems inconsistent. I used to consistently have signal in my room and since flash it seems to flicker between 2 bars and no bar.
Of course, the positive outweights the negatives for me here. ICS just such a huge step forward compared to gingerbread and I've never seen quadrant score of 3300 on stock before.
---------- Post added at 02:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:51 PM ----------
One minor but very annoying thing is that sometimes apps will just hang while uninstalling, just stuck at the stage where they show a bar moving back and forth. Reboot fixes it somewhat, but just a minor annoyance that I haven't seen anybody mentioning.(I'm just glad I have signal I guess)
Is 4g working on ICS?
I use 4g constantly and don't want to give that up.

About the signal issue - I understand the bars fluctuate but is there any degradation of call quality or data speed?

No 4G - mainly due to unlocking of bootloader to flash! Still a damn good ROM though - super sleek, minor bugs!! All Hail the Jokersax!!!

Can't comment on data since 3G is so slow it's pretty much unusable here. Call is fine when there is consistent signal but I never had a drop call issue in my room until now.

Kind of roundabout, using speedtest, you can go to results, select a result, then click on the mail icon at the top of the screen and choose an email delivery.. Instead of sending copy the URL and you can paste it in a message like
If rooted, you can ditch the ads with adfree a well.

Ok heres a list of the badLTE speeds I get:
1)
2)
3)
They are when they "throttle" my LTE speeds.
Good speeds:
Yes the bad speeds= real life speed. I can't even get 360p video to play with out "lag".
P.S 3G on verizon sucks and this is why:
1)
2)
3)
4bars on 3G and I get speeds like that, it's like being on AT&T's 2G and I know how thats like, becuase I have put a my S2 in 2G for fun and on a trip all I got is 2g and well it sucks to get speeds like that.

Try this. Take the back cover off and then very gently pull the little golden tabs up a little. Also try pulling the sim card out and putting it back in.

Yea that did seem to help a bit. I got it to send a text but now once it has less than two bars it says no service even though its clearly in service with working data. Eh seems like its not worth the hassel of fixing and keeping.

how is your wifi?

i have like a 5 year old wifi router but it seems to be only okay on the galaxy s3. i get fair connection most of the time in my house (especially the third floor). anyone else see it not be spectacular?
Signal is fine. There seem to be some sleep issues though.
Put WiFi on its fine. Everything is speedy. Let phone sleep and come back and it works but is definitely slower like its connected but takes a fair bit longer to pull stuff up. Almost like packet loss but once it starts pulling stuff down its fast just takes a bit too long to spool up. Shut WiFi off and put it on and is fixed.
I'm using an older wrt54 which I think only had 2.5ghz. I've tried setting it to just use that but same results. Wpa2.
I heard the wifi connections on the SGS3 were kind of lacking, but happy to report that it connects fine to my router.
I have a Linksys E3000 Dual-Band Router.
Just fine, no issues at all. Usually pulling down about 25000mbps on average.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
I seem to get good speeds but the signal strength indicator is always at 1-2 bars I have not once seen it get to full bars and on rare occasion I get 3 bars. This is in a location where my laptop gets full bars.
Works great on my end.
