Hey, I'm trying to help out my sister's boyfriend. He recently bought the Radar and the screen got cracked when it was dropped. They bought a replacement screen off ebay but they can't find instructions to replace it. I've tried to help them. I found nothing on google or on here. I've found videos and such for other HTC phones but not this one. I'm thinking either it may be too hard to replace on your own or maybe its just such a new phone that nobody has posted anything yet. If anyone can help her out i would really appreciate it.
I'm not sure if you would be able to replace it to be honest. Since it has a unibody design. If he just bought it from t-mobile he should be able to get it replaced.
If not he will need a set of torx screw drivers, a prying tool, tweezers, and a lot of time. I suggest recording the entire session so you know what screws go back where.

Hey,
Does anyone know where i might be able to get a new one? I cracked the glass some time ago now and would like to get it replaced.
Also anyone know where i can obtain a new or refurbed battery cover as mine seems to be peeling.
Thanks,
Healy.
I got mine here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-GENUINE-HTC-HD2-BLACK-BACK-HOUSING-REPLACEMENT-/260655128116?pt=UK_MobilePhones_MobilePhoneAccessories_MobilePhoneFascias_JN&hash=item3cb0419e34
Delivery was quick and the parts seem to be the same as the orginal
Thats great! Did it take long to fit?
No, not too long maybe 30 mins or so.
You need some basic tools (T4 Torx driver and a case opener) you can buy what you need at the same place http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/REPAIR-OPENING-TOOLS-KIT-PDA-MOBILE-PHONES-6-PCS-/110575259857?pt=UK_Mobiles_Accessories_RL&hash=item19becc90d1
Then you'll need the first few minutes of video 1 here http://pocketnow.com/hardware-1/official-htc-hd2-disassembly-assembly-training-videos-leaked It's pretty straight forward, basically you take out the battery remove 4 screws, pry off the old cover, fit the new one and then reverse the process!
Just be careful of static, if you're not feeling confident you should be able to find a shop tp do this for you.
Hope this helps
Howdy,
Busted my digitizer and planning on replacing it so anyone got a good listing for one? Im thinking of going with the LCD Digitizer combo to avoid the joy of trying to seperate the 2 and ill probably order a 2nd digitizer to attempt to replace the one on the current LCD in the future for a spare or to sell i just dont want to be with a really busted up screen if i muff up the original in the process.
Ive searched before on the topic but dont recollect any good listings.
Im on VZW if that matters so i got the Rhod500
I had contacted an ebay seller but they couldnt tell me what i needed to know beings they got listings for GSM and CDMA screens and i cant really see what would be the difference.
I plan on doing this as soon as i can get it cause the cracks are starting to irritate me

you may want to get the screen that is for verizon logo on it since if your going to do warranty exchange or insurance claim they may want it having on the phone but it doesnt matter if it is GSM or CDMA since they are both the same screen the only difference is that they have the carrier logo on it. another thing you want to consider is getting the us version not the europe version cuz it has the hole for the face camera which the us verison did not get dont know why but it was dumb in their part.
I found this one you can see:

Hey, I have replaced 2 digitizers for sprint phones. They are in fact stuck down to the LCD which just means you need to be careful. I used a hair dryer to weaken the adhesive before prying off the digitizer.
I ended up having to peel apart the layers of the old digitizer to use the adhesive to hold the new one down to the case.
Hello,
I just bought the vibrant; however, the bezel is slightly cracked. I wanted to replace it, but every dismembering video of the phone I checked removes the motherboard. Is there any way in which I can remove the bezel without messing with the motherboard, screen, or any other components around it?
Also, the battery cover is scratched. I wanted to buy the replacement cover but there is one available for the i9000 not the t959. I read that it will fit, but I just wanted to confirm it.
I apologize if I sound like a noob or posted this in the wrong section. I spent 3 hours searching for an answer, but found nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Please? Any help would be appreciated.
I don't think you really have an option. After looking at some screen repair guides for the Vibrant it appears the bezel has a panel that goes under the soft keys (see attached image). Also, I've never had my phone get damaged so I never have had to tinker with my physical device. What you could do is buy a case that covers the front bezel like the one I use. It's about 5$ and will hide your bezel + protect it. That's all I can suggest, hope this helps...
Also, not sure about the i9000 back cover working on the Vibrant but here is a brand new back cover you can buy for the vibrant for about 6$.
The only way to replace the bezel is to remove the motherboard. Also, I use i9000 covers for my vibrant. They work beautifully. (I have a chrome one one! ^.^)

Thanks for the help guys. All the electronics I have don't have a single scratch on them, literally, I baby them. I bought this from craigslist; however, I didn't see the scratch during that time. I am very irritated atm.................regardless, thanks for the help.
I was wondering, If I buy a bezel, would somebody be willing to replace it for me? Obviously, I will pay you for the job. If yes, I would greatly appreciate that. Please send me a private message if interested.
Dear there
anyone have any idea where i can find digitizer for this phone and what about its price anyone can help !!!!!
ebay?
I actually just bought one myself (have bought another one a while back as well)... They will run you anywhere from around 35 for a crappy one which is the first one i bought (i wouldnt recommend it). And 45$ for an OEM one from amazon (just hope you don't get a used one like some people say they have gotten) I do warn you that replacing it can be a hassle. I would not attempt it unless you are very careful and have a nice, clean, organized work station and a nice youtube video to watch. Make sure you keep the screws and parts grouped together by where they go.... if you drop one it will be hard to find.

A note... the crappy one worked, but the sensor parts werent tinted like on the OEM one... was kind of annoying. Also it should come with the tools and adhesive needed...
Hey there, here is an image of my gf's phone (my old one!) which i recently dropped quite hard onto concrete from about 4ft high. As you can see it's slowly dying, the pink-ish band has been coming down gradually over the past 24 hours.
My plan is to find a replacement LCD/digitiser screen and fit it to the phone. Will I need a new glass cover also? Has anyone else ever seen this and successfully repaired it?
Thanks!

If I'm correct is a screen problem
Definitely the digitizer.....
that is broken. Bought a replacement on ebay, about 100 dollars. Came as one unit, front w/glass, digitizer and connector tool and screwdriver. Fairly easy to replace. Look at youtube videos. That helps.
Be sure you get the right one. My softkeys are erratic at times. Might be the versoin that is wrong.
Any confirmation om that will be appriciated w or wo any hints to correct that.
thanks guys, gonna look for a kit now. Does anyone know if I can buy a second phone with for example, bad motherboard, and lift the whole screen and stuff from that one?
my pack arrived today, but there's a big plastic thing same shape as the screen, but like a big sticker with different cut outs. Is this the digitizer? Do I have to break open the fresh front panel? All the guides I've seen suggest otherwise, but I can't figure out for the life of me where it goes :/
just in case anyone was wondering... i never used the sticker thing. I followed iFixit directions and the phone is good as new. a snazzy white/blue hybrid!
