Hey so I recently went from Synergy (old version) to Viper Rom.
And well, the sound isn't loud anymore. After doing DSPmanager + other Equalizers, it caps off and starts getting softer as if Loudness Compensation is on.
I flashed Anthrax, but it didn't do the trick.
Any kernels or roms with everything that can be loud like Synergy? The only reason I don't go back to synergy is because it needs to be updated and it isn't.
I would prefer a kernel fix... but I can't seem to find anything like it.
Or any other fix to make phone louder?
Thanks.
I know synergy is gettin updated to 2.17 also eternity is updated to 2.17 the 3.0 version . My sound seems great on eternity r77.

Oh okay thanks.
By any chance do you play music in your car?
That's the only way I noticed that my music isn't as loud as before. I think I'll have to go back to Synergy unless there's a kernel fix or something.
Volume+, for example, says to have MIUI or Cyanogen because stock kernels/roms don't do the trick. Anyone know why?

My earpiece volume is LOW.
I turn it all the way up and its till hard to hear.
Happened after a flash of some rom/kernel combo.
Not sure which one.
I have tried LouderVolumeHack, to no avail. I've also tried DSP
My ringer/noti/speaker phone are plenty loud.
Only the earpiece is low.
My current rom/kernel is: WTSB 1.9 with Latest Tiamat
So is there something I can pull and change or anything?
Thanks
It could be the audio settings in the rom. I have been using the audio files from infected rom on my roms and they work great, seems better than stock. I had the same problem as you a while back, I dont remember what rom it was on.
What files are those?
I was using an Infected ROM before.
Had a few issues, but love it anyway.
still here
I flashed MiUI 1.10.14 and still low sound.
Nobody knows where i can find the audio files to mess with?
I use the etc/soundimage file from infected along with the AdieHWCodec.csv, AIC3254_REG.csv, AIC3254_REG_DualMic.csv, and CodecDSPID.txt. Those all seem to container audio stuff. You might also check lib files. The rom that I use is my own custom rom that I have compiled over the last month and a half, I use stuff from a bunch of different roms, so Im not sure what is from what......sorry.
thanks, i'll load those and see how it goes!
i've tried those and now i have have NO sound from earpiece. even flashed new rom (sickSense) ...
now it's nothing.
If I was you, or if I was me, I would RUU back to stock (I usually do once a month or so anyway) and see if that fixes it. If that fixes it, try flashing a different rom and see if the volume changes.
I had terrible problems with my volume for a while. I RUU back to stock, then I did ##786# and factory reset, allong with *#7780#, and ##72786#. Im not saying that you should do all of that, but that is the only way I could find to revert all of the changes that I made in QPST. It will put your phone completely back to stock, so you will need your MSID to get your services set back up.
I have no issues with my audio now
im trying the above right now. so far just RUU did not restore sound.
at least if all of these don't work, my phone wont look shady when i take it back to Sprint and claim ."i dunno what spazed on it?!!"
Thanks for all of your help shiftr! i hit thanks like twice i think!
No prob man, I just hope it helps.
Does anyone have the stock bluetooth.apk for the EVO 3D GSM (ROGERS).
I have been playing around pretty heavily and I may have accidentally deleted the backup of my stock ROM.
I am having trouble on every ROM I try out with bluetooth. It cuts out, or it doesn't work at all.
The only reason I think I need the stock apk is that when I turn the bluetooth on and off, it works fine again... for about 5 minutes. I have tried multiple kernals and roms, but none work.
I am going to try a senseless rom, as I have heard that sense may cause HTC bluetooth quality to be degraded. Until then, though, I was hoping someone could give me a link to the stock bluetooth.apk.
Thanks!
My rom is a Rogers rom and senseless, bluetooth is working fine for me. Try it or if I have time later ill extract my application from it

I actually just flashed with your rom right now! I am going to test on my way home and I will let you know if it worked.
Another thing to note that was strange was that it doesn't work at all with Beats enabled. With beats off, it works for about 5 minutes.
Maybe buffering on the phone? An original HTC design flaw? Faulty hardware?

Seems beats causes more issues than its worth, I may remove it on both my roms, to be honest I don't notice a huge difference in sound quality anyway

So... home now, and it played perfectly through the whole ride.
Beats wasn't turned on, nor was I using the stock music player. I used PlayerPro.
I have replicated this scenario before on roms with Sense and it didn't work, including GingerDex V2.0. I really have a feeling it is something to do with Sense, or something HTC.
I really wish I still had my Stock ROM... I never used Stereo bluetooth on there before I wiped it.
I could make you a stock rooted Rogers rom, that's flashable, the only thing ill do to it is root it
Sent from my GingerDex Evo
That would be absolutely amazing.
Here is something VERY strange. I copied the bluetooth.apk and the BrcmBluetoothServices.apk from your nosense rom to the Sense 3.0 Rom that you have and another Sense 3.5 rom that I downloaded and it works without a hitch.
Files are identical though, which makes absolutely no sense to me at all.
I know that some cdma devs have figured out how to edit the audio gain in order to remove the hiss however i am a gsm user and no such patch exists. as such my phone exhibits a loud hissing noise whenever there is audio playing. i am on GB leedroid 5.4 with anthrax kernel test 14. can i manually change audio gain! also cdma users can access qpst and adjust volume. i find the lowest audio volume too loud when using earphones after i installed xloud. i want to maintain my loud speaker but redice the earphone volume. how do i edit these values on my evo? thanks
The increased volume from xloud is likely the cause of the hiss. I haven't use that mod of followed its something I can't say for sure. I've been weary of using anything like that for the speaker in cash of it blowing the speaker.
I use volune+ to adjust volume and eq though. It has separate profiles for headphones bs speaker V's bluetooth.

You may also want to flash a ics as sound improvements have been made, when I was stock gb, the hiss was there, now on ics with anthrax kernel I have no hiss
sent on my Evil Evo running the colonel special herbs and spices kernel
thanks for the replies, i uninstalled xloud and am now using volume+. sound has improved but there is still a hiss. i cannot flash ics despite being s-off and such, they always bootloop for some reason. i am using anthrax kernel so i find this strange
Ics has major sound improvements, gb always had a hissing on music play back, I would suggest looking at solving why you can't install ics, cdma normal from what I understand is hboot version

ok thanks, also i`m on gsm.

What ics rom did you try to flash, your hboot is?, you must also flash the new firmware, that alone will cause a bootloop, most developers will have a link for the new firmware
sent on my Evil Evo running the colonel special herbs and spices kernel
i flashed the official ruu then flash the rom on top, all is good until i restored my apps with titanium backup then i get random reboots when the apps load from sd
also i forgot to say that i am using audio technica noise cancelling earphones and the problem only occurs with noise cancellation on, this only happens on my phone and not my pc or ipod touch. otherwise quality is excellent.
I think my base band got updated to the latest T-Mobile when I flashed a de-bloated T mobile ICS rom. Not sure if this is the case as I am S-ON and am not sure if it's possible for an unsigned rom to flash the baseband, but whatever. Was wondering if there are any users out there who have stayed on Telus stock ICS and what their baseband is. Was having some radio issues and wanted to try and flash stock baseband. Thanks
Which one did you flash?

I'm on the latest T-Mobile I believe 1.14.550L.17DC. For all I know this is the Telus ICS baseband but I was having volume issues with the earpiece being too loud even at lowest setting. I do have control over the volume, unlike all the CM based ROMs, I just feel like the earpiece volume is a bit too high compared to what I remember it being when the phone was bone stock. Just wanted to see if I was on the "wrong" radio. I have no issues regarding voice and probably none in regard to data (haven't checked). Just volume. From what I've heard many people who are not on T Mobile have flashed the lattest T mobile radio for improvements. Thing is I'm S-ON so now I figured the radio could not be updated regardless of what ROM I flashed unless it was signed official Telus. Maybe not? Tried De Bloated T Mobile ROM and Telus Rooted ROM and both work well. I'm really just curious at this point I guess. If I'm not on the right radio I'm not sure I'm willing to go S-OFF and start flashing stuff just because my earpiece is a bit too loud. Just would like to know.
Post a screen shot

Can you post a screen shot of your baseband? or type it in?
Would help. Also, having a slightly louder volume isnt so bad, you can turn the volume down manually..

1.14.550L.17DC Latest T mobile. The lowest volume setting is pretty loud so being able to control volume doesn't mean much. It's not unbearable but it's seems significantly louder than stock so that's sort of why I'm looking at going back to stock or possibly going S-OFF to flash radios. The stock telus ICS zip will not install from bootloader. It either needs stock Telus gingerbread installed as a base or an earlier radio or something. Installing stock gingerbread (executable) requires an hboot downgrade (it checks hboot) and possibly a radio downgrade as well. At this point I may just stay where I am but it wouldbe nice if I could try the stock ICS radio. I was also wondering if it's even possible to flash the baseband when I install a custom ROM when I'm S-ON?
S-OFF Super CID

I would definately S-off it really helps. chat with @ravike14 he can help you thru it.
If you s-off and super cid you should be able to flash the firmware without issue.
I'm not sure about the baseband thru custom rom. There should never be a firmware upgrade in a custom rom.
Poeple should also warn someone if it does.
I was upset that a certain rom I flashed had a modified recovery and it wasnt mentioned in the op.
Can you send/post your build.prop file? There are some settings that can be controlled there.

Thanks for the info. I wound up going the s-off route and flashed a t mobile stock ruu which worked out fine. The volume issue I believe was my mistake. Rather than making a regular phonecall I was making a *888 call which was an automated message giving account balance with a certain Telco. For whatever reason this message was way loud. Regular voice calls seemed to be fine. So l went to evervolve 3.3 but the battery drain was real bad so now I run energy rom and everything is great. If 10.2 ever gets call audio fixed I would consider going back to that as it was soooo smooth even with a couple bugs
Good Job!

Glad to hear everything worked out.
Evervolve is looking like a very good rom!
Jellybean sense is in the works and it's really smooth and snappy, but has a lot of issues right now, and the kernel is proving to be a very difficult problem.
I bought a HTC Amaze 4G with stock GB ROM installed. I rooted and installed a custom ROM named: One Good ROM ICS V3.8 [ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1450531 ]
Everything works fine except that there is no audio. I can't hear any sound playing music or videos, not even when the phone rings. There is no sound through the speaker when i pick up the call and there is no sound in the mic i.e. the person on the other end can't hear me as well.
Since i am new to the whole smartphone-flashing-deal, I can't figure out how to fix this issue. Any help will be appreciated.
My phone is rooted, S-On and has 4EXT recovery that i can boot to. I flashed a faux123 kernel from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1359951
I even tried connecting a Nokia BH - 503 BT headset to the phone to see if audio works on that. However, there was no luck. This headset works just fine on my LG Optimus 3D.

Did you flash an "official" HTC ICS firmware before installing your current ROM? If so, have you tried any other ROMs? Honestly, I've never used the ROM you mention, so I'm not familiar with it. Also, have you read the dev and QA&T threads for that ROM to see if others have had the issue and possible workarounds? Have you read the various pinned threads, the forum wiki or the bible page? If you haven't please do so. Unfortunately, you're a newbie here and there's a very low tolerance for answering noob questions which have already been answered elsewhere
Edit: BTW why did you choose this particular ROM over the other ICS Sense ROMs available? After making my post this morning I did a bit of investigating and it turns out this hasn't been updated since June 2012. There have been several OTA updates since then that would have been impossible to incorporate since it's no longer supported. Do yourself a favor and try one of the newer, more recently updated more popular ROMs. Examples being, SuperAfnan's ROMs (he has several ranging from optimized debloated stock to heavily themed hybrids) or the Energy ROMs (one is themed tweaked and optimized, the other stock themed, but optimized).
Once you've established that you can flash and have everything working properly, then try using some of the other outstanding ROMs like the ViperAmaze (Heavily themed and customized Sense), the Speed Rom (debloated with most sense removed), or the various experimental JB and KitKat AOSP builds.
I hope this helps.
