Guys, I've been running CM as daily driver in my photon, but wifi issue in it make me frustrated..
so I decide to back to stock, flashing 198-7 sbf make my photon unable to boot (stuck on dual core moto logo)..
so I'm planning to flash a CWM zip rom which has closest to stock..
any suggestions which rom?
thanks..

Did you make a nandroid backup? If so restore. Always do a full wipe before flashing an sbf when you have been running a custom rom. You can flash jokerstock or skinny. Rocko. Anything but cm9 or cm7 or miui.

Hi, i have the screen always on motorola logo... this is a hard brick? I can put right my phone?

No your just stuck in a boot loop. If you have cwm you can try a factory reset, or flash an sbf if your on an att atrix. Not sure if there is an sbf for other versions.

Do not do it if you flashed the 2.3.4 update or you will have a hard brick. I would recommend starting from 1.2.6 so you can root.

i have this problem after the installation of
[ROM] AT&T 4.5.91 ★ Gingerbread 2.3.4 ★ Beta #4
If you flashed kenns rom you should be ok flashing an sbf I think it would only brick if you used the other method. If you can get into recovery I would recommend just flashing kenns rom again though should fix it

What roms can be flashed from bootstrap? Not sure I want to unlock my bootloader and lose 4g. Looking for a stable rom with working Bluetooth and better battery life than stock.
Thanks
Check out skinny4g.

Do you have to be at 198_7 to use that ROM?
Yes...I believe all ofjokers roms are based on 198_7.
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
What does 198_7 mean? I'm on the stock updated rom. All I have done is root. I was gonna do bootstrap and then flash a rom. Is there something else I need to do before flashing skinny4g?
198_7 is one of the current stock builds...you need to flash using rsdlite to take you to a stock ROM.

So I would have to do all of that before I can even flash a rom...is it the same if I unlock the bootloader?
You flash the unlock sbf , root your phone, flash cwm recovery thru fastboot, and then you can install a custom rom. I would recommend reading more in the development section and watching the qbking77 videos.
Also, since you want to keep 4g, you don't need to do any of that. You just need bootstrap to flash the skinny4g rom.

So I don't have to do the 198_7 sbf first in order to get skinny4g? Sorry to ask so many questions. It wasn't this difficult on the evo4g. Just very confused and can't really find the answers.

You need to be on 198_7. But you don't need to unlock, install CWM, root, flash rom...all you need to do is flash the SBF, root, install bootstrap if you haven't, and then flash the skinny4g rom.
Edit: you don't need to be on 198_7 to flash skinny 4g...my bad.. I thought it was necessary as Alien was based on 154_5, and didn't work on other builds. All good though..
Ok thanks. So if I already rooted I need to sbf then root again and flash bootstrap. Then flash rom. Got it

Yup...just install the bootstrap.apk and you'll be good to go.
Ok now the sbf file that is in that link doesn't work. Is there a different one in that thread that works?

Need to use the boot strap recovery, MOTODX_Bootstrap_Signed.apk. Its based off Clockwork. Make sure you only try to flash locked roms though. If you try and flash anything not supported your more than likely going to be on my boat... Softbricked. I was a flashaholic with my Evo, now im a bricked bum looking for light...
Look in Lokifish Mars Sticky on all thing Mopho. It has links to everything you will need in it.
No you cannot flash a custom recovery on a locked bootloader.

I'm in the same boat. I just got a used Photon and it already had the 2.3.5 (45.4.13 254_13) ROM on it. I got it rooted successfully at least, but get the error when trying to install the DERPUNLOCK.SFB file.
Any solutions out there yet? Can the unit be SBF-ed back to 198_7 and then the bootloader unlocked?
(I'm sorry if this is a redundant question, but I haven't found a clear answer and have searched the forums extensively!)
THANKS!

Your only real option is mof2.3.5 unless you want to run a rom that is not supported anymore ie imperium, rocko, skinny. Mofs rom is damn good though. Give it a shot and see what you think.
If your on 2.3.4 go with mofo2.3.5ish if your on 2.3.5, don't flash any roms locked or unlocked. Just be happy your phone works!
The reason being is because will the roms are based on 2.3.4 and since 2.3.5 locked bootloader, anything 2.3.4 based will cause you to soft brick, with no sprint sbf to fall back on. Peetr and mo are actively working on a working sbf for those who are on USC electrify sbf.

I'm on 2.3.5, and i really don't care about breaking 4G or anything CDMA... Only need GSM if that's possible...

Signed boot.img with its modules is needed to install after each locked rom.
Don't want to sound like a n00b, but where would those be in the ROM threads? I'm so used to HTC's phones, so going to this Photon makes me feel like I'm starting from scratch...

Actually nowhere yet. You need to wait.
Ohh okay. I'll just sit back and wait for the devs. Really wish I hadn't traded my Evo LTE for this Photon....

Any progress on unlocking the bootloader on the OTA 253_13 build?
Still curious about being able to sbf downgrade to 254_7...
And info GREATLY appreciated.
Hi,
I recently stucked at the Motorola Startup logo. So I reflashed the full sbf for 2.5.4_13 and installed the stock rom as per the peetr_ 's guide.
1)Flash this SBF (http://d-h.st/XGJ). Now you'll have stock 2.3.5 for Electrify. But you need Sprint services (I assume), so you don't stop here.
2) Download bootstrap from DroidX2 forum, and get it working. Of course you need to root your photon first.
3) Flash this ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30332325) from bootstrap. Please follow the instructions for this ROM carefully, you don't wanna flash the SBF again.
4) Flash 254_13 modules (http://d-h.st/aAi) with bootstrap. you need them.
5) Flash 2.3.5_254_13 sv2 boot, recovery and cdrom image sbf (http://d-h.st/TeB) with RSD Lite.
6) Flash 254_12 libmoto_ril.so (http://d-h.st/BmX) with bootstrap. You don't need to flash the radio SBF.
4) and 6) is not needed, if you install rom 3)

I have just followed the Steps 1,2,and 3 and my phone is working fine. Do I need to go for Step 5. Is it mandatory. My GSM radios are working fine, except I think WiFi and 4G stopped working.
Yes you need the boot image for wifi and 4g to work properly.

I dont understand what you are asking. A stock rooted GB ROM? The only GB ROMs we have that are worth looking into is Eclipse and CM7. Eclipse is more stock as in how you baught the Droid X2. CM7 is more stock as in pure android (AOSP). And again, I dont know what you mean by "losing my flash so I cannot sbf to stock"
My x2 is flashed to cricket cause I can't afford Verizon. Sbf to stock would mean losing that flash putting the phones network back on Verizon making it unusable and would be paper weight. I want a stock moto DROID rom like blur
