Is there any possibility to have a calendar entry remind a call with direct CALL action?
I miss the old days when dumb phones had possibility to have a call reminder set up in calendar with a number to call.
I would prefer to have it in google calendar, no third party apps.
Thanks

I'm using Google voice exclusively for text messaging. Right now the only way to send/receive texts is to use the google voice app, but I would like to do that through the native message app. Is it possible?
Have the texts forwarded to your phone number? Or are you trying to avoid texting costs?

This exactly. Sorry for missing info
A little bump will help I hope?
I will bump this thread..... but only kind of... let me explain
I would like to have a dedicated messaging app for Google Voice texting, but I would LOVE is to have an Android Google Voice app with tabs/menus.
The GV Mobile + app for iPhone is far superior to the native Android Google Voice application, it hurts.... I just hate opening Google Voice and seeing every single text, voicemail, missed call, etc. An intuitive menu bar for Calls/Dialer, Texts, Call History, Voicemail would be a dream come true.
It's not possible currently. Perhaps, one day Google will read this post and implement it.
Switch to Sprint. We get our texts via messaging app and not the Google Voice app! It is quite nice.

If anyone is interested in developing a custom dialer.apk. please contact me.
i need some features implemented that nor standard or custom dialer from market can provide.
I need to be abple to have a "dial out" feature with a set prefix on a contact i pick from contacts list.
Said prefix is >=5 digits and must be customizable.
I want to be able to pick up an incoming call, put that on hold, open contacts select number, dial out with prefix and hang up the calls. like forwarding a call.
Please contact me in thread or by PM.
I will pay for functioning product.

Hello:
New to Android and the GN2. I'm using the basic Messaging and Contacts apps. A somewhat annoying issue has come up.
I start a SMS message thread using info from Contacts. At some point after the exchange of a few messages, the person's name disappears and only their phone number is in the Messaging display. It happens for all messaging threads.
All the messages are to people in Contacts and I can restart the phone and the names then reappear. Then after a few more message exchanges, the names disappear.
Am I missing something basic here?
Thanks,
Ron
Weird. I dont know crap but if it happened to me I would turn "direct call" off under the motion settings and/or clear the "messages" data under settings> apps> all apps> clear data

Looking for email app with separate email icons & unread msg counts on home screen
Hi,
First time poster and first time user of Android phones. I know I am late to the game having just moved over from the blackberry.
The biggest thing I miss is having separate icons for my different email accounts along with unread email message counts on my home screen. I like to keep my work email separate from my personal accounts and from my travel confirmation account. I travel every week for work, so it's very useful to be able easily call up my confirmations for the week.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated - Thanks!
