Grooveshark works great but... - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Hey,
Grooveshark really works great on the TP, but at just under $100 a year im finding it hard to justify the spend.
Anybody offer me a cheaper alternative?
Thanks

TinyShark app works really well for me. And it doesn't require a grooveshark account to use.

Best Tablets right now

Seeking your opinions, much cherished xda clan...
Just won a 16GB iPad 2 but selling it to a co-worker so I can get an Android tablet.
I'm most interested is using a tablet to read ebooks and comics, browse the web and maybe watch videos. I'd like to keep some cash from the sale so i'm looking to spend $399 max.(ideally $300 or less), prefer 10".
What are your tablet suggestions?

Do you only want Android?
Because I think HP Touchpad runs on WebOs (not sure at all ) but I've heard it's really good.
Yeah, just Android...but the Touchpad can run Android...

Is this much better than Polaris Office?
This is a sweet deal if it is much better than Polaris. The reg price seems to be $15 btw.

Yes, it is far better. It's the best office suite I have used, and I've used most of the major ones.
Do I have to pull the apk or do some sort of trick to have this show up on my prime?
It doesn't seem to be showing my prime in the list.
EDIT: NVM for some reason it was hidden -_-
Please, note that this is the newer version - 6

Bought it too, but I seem to be unable to download it, the store does not go further than 50%. Reboot did not help but other apps of same size do dowload without problems...
Thanks for the info. Bought and downloaded w/o problems.
Thank You!!!!

Awesome! Been waiting on a deal like this. SOOO HAPPY YAAYYY!!!!
PSA
For those that snagged it and hate the ad for the dictionary, here's how to change it to something less obnoxious:
Open Office Suite Pro & close it again
Using a file manager or adb navigate to data/data/com.mobisystems.editor.office_registered/shared_prefs/
Open AdsPrefs.xml
Change <boolean name="haveAd" value="true" /> to <boolean name="haveAd" value="false" />
Save the file
Open Office Suite Pro
The ad will be gone and will be replaced with a 'rate this app' link, which I prefer.
Even though it's May 11th, I just bought this for $0.99. Thanks for this, I was looking for an alternative for QuickOffice Pro since it doesn't have an interface designed for tablets. To get QuickOffice with a tablet interface I would have to spend $20 on their "HD" version.
Slight rant, but I find it stupid that I have to spend more money on an app to buy an HD or "For Tablets" version of apps I ALREADY own.
Just snagged it here also.
Thanks for the heads up
I was able to buy the app even today (13.5.). Thanks a lot for the info man, much better than Polaris
For those interested, the offer is still there...
Btw, how can images inserted into a word document from a powerpoint be displayed properly in Office suite pro?
I am not able to see the images - it's just a grey box with a question mark at the top left corner.
Thanks in advance. cheers...
thank you!
Just bought it for .99. Thx

[Q] A decent ICS tablet?

I have a TF101 and my fiance steals it all the time to mess around or play games like angry birds, or around as equally demanding. I'm trying to find her a decent tablet running Android 4.0 (ICS) that I can afford on a $20 spare a week budget. The one she likes the looks of but I am unsure of any quality is this one on eBay. I planned to buy it under PayPals bill me later policy. Any opinions on that with PayPal?

Doesn't the kindle fire run android or something?

Yes it does. She doesn't like the UI design of it though. She also made me promise I won't do any Modding to what I find lol.

The problem with those unbranded tablets on ebay, etc is that you'll likely get no support after buying it. Meaning you won't see any Android updates, you don't really have any kind of warranty and there won't be much dev support out there. If you can afford it something like the Nexus 7 will be better long term as it will likely see the next few versions of Android without you needing to flash any ROMs. Those ebay tablets will be on ICS forever, which is already one version old. But the Nexus is quite a bit more than the cheap tablets so if you are fine with the limitations due to your budget get the cheaper one.
I don't think there is even a brand name tablet that I can afford. Problem is I only make $90 a week and $70 is used to get what we need and pay on my truck. I only have $20 spare generally so I'd need something I can get cheap on bill me later.

[Q] Refurbished Prime or TF700

Hi all.. I just sold my Nexus 7 on ebay because I wanted the ability to connect HDMI. Moving up, I won a bid on a Prime on Ebay, but the seller is playing nasty and I haven't received it. That being said, I'm a few days from getting my money back and am wondering if a Prime is the best way to go - after reading about a few of it's issues. Right now I can buy a refurb Prime for $299 locally, or, Sam's has a TF700 for $439. What do you guys & gals think??? Thanks for your help in making the right choice..
Still got garbage memory with lags, just like the prime. Avoid both and get a nexus.

Did you not read that he sold his Nexus?
I bought my Prime off Swappa and I don't have any of the problems that are mentioned about wifi, or lag. I have yet to play with gps as I didn't buy this for navigation. IMO, if you have the money get the Infinity. Latest and greatest and it has the abilities that you want.

Latest and greatest would be the nexus 10. I wouldn't buy another Asus with this cheap memory if my life depended on it. Yes it was the best at the time, but only because everything else sucked so hard. Now we have options.

I also have had more than acceptable WiFi performance and haven't seen all the "problems" others report. Not saying they are wrong - just that it works fine for my needs. I don't care about GPS. I went ahead and got the free Asus dongle but have never even used it. I even stayed on the stock ROM until JB came along and I lost root. Now I'm using Androwook 1.51 which was really easy and is basically the stock ROM Asus should have made. I'd agree the infinity but if you want to save the money, I think about the only thing the extra dollars would get you is the higher res screen - so you decide if its worth it to you.
I would seriously consider the Galaxy Note 10.1. I think it knocks spots of the Prime (I own both) but then I am one of the unlucky ones who got a bad egg. (just about to RMA the Prime for the second time)

Logitech Mediaboard keyboard compability ?

Hello everyone. i wonder which type of bluetooth keyboards can we use with our beloved tf300t(g) s? does anyone have Logitech Mediaboard Ps3 keyboard ? an user noticed that it works flawless with kindle 7inch. it would be great if we could use it ?
Why not just use the original Asus ones?
Good question. In my beautiful beautiful country, asus tf kb isn't sold seperately, and i can't find a second hand one. i bought only tablet so it would be good to have a kb just for office applications, portability isn't a issue right now.
You can pick em up for cheap of eBay. Brand new selling for £70

Customs a bit tricky too. Anyway it would be great to have answers to my questions. Thanks in advance
+1 on the Asus dock. If there's anyway possible, that's your best bet. Not sure about bluetooth keyboards. I'm sure there are some posts in here about them if you look hard enough.
