is anyone sles having issues with the music player? for me everything works fine, but the second you turn the screen off, or it turns off by itself, the music gets all scratchy, and crappy sounding.... does it with the stock music player, and pandora...
I am having the same issue on CM9. Did you ever find a fix?

I've been looking around a bit and couldn't find an answer to this.
How can I make it so that if/when the button on the packaged headset is pushed that it will never start playing music? It is irritating and never intentional. Am I missing something on where to turn off this "feature" somewhere?
Hmmm... I have a very similar problem. Whenever I plug in my headphones, the music player automatically starts! It's driving me nuts! I use my headphones to watch youtube or other videos and it's very frustrating having to pause what I am watching to turn off the music player.
Did you find a solution? Or does anyone else have a solution?
Appreciate any help!
thanks!
what player do you use? some player like cubed have an option to open the player when you plug your headset.
also for op: what player do you use? if you use the stock music player, try anotehr one who has an option to use the headset (like cubed or ubermusic) then delete the stock player, and turn off the option on your new player, then it wont start playing anything
i think this one doesn't play automatically

Ok I've had this problem for the last couple days. I will be in the middle of listening to music through Winamp over my bluetooth headset.
All of the sudden the bluetooth headset stops playing music and the music starts playing out of the speaker. However, it is not the same music...it is a completely different song. If i use the volume rocker it shows it adjusting bluetooth volume but does not change the random speaker music volume.
If I go into settings>Applications>Running Services and Force Stop all Music programs the music still does not stop playing out of the speaker.
If I turn the bluetooth headset off and then use the volume rocker it shows adjusting ringtone volume, but the random speaker music will be adjusted.
Also, while I was not even using bluetooth the other day this same thing happened. It seems to only happen when the screen is turned off.
I am really trying to figure out what is causing this but I cannot figure it out.
I have frozen my "music 2.3.4."; "Music 3.0.1" ; and "Phantom Music Control Widget" and the problem persists.
I don't think it is related but this did not start happening until I installed the Faux123 1.9 kernel. I may also try to revert back to 1.7 to see if the issue persists.
I am still trying to figure this out and will probably try another music program other than winamp to see if the problem still happens.
Any insight would be much appreciated.

I had something similar happening a while back. What it turned out to be was that the widget for another music program was still active somehow after deleting it. Freezing the program didn't stop things. I eventually realized what was happening, dropped another widget on my desktop again, made sure all music was stopped, then deleted it again.
Also check your settings in all music programs for bluetooth and playback. I have found that having multiple music programs installed would really cause a sh*tmess sometimes. Better to uninstall everything but stock music player, then only install the one you wish to use, then freeze the stock player after turning off all "auto" functions in it.
I'm currently on Neutrino's v2.5p2 ROM and my phone doesn't allow any application other than the built in music player to stream any audio to my car stereo through bluetooth. I used to hear Tune In radio on a daily basis without any problems with the stock GB roms but ever since I unlocked my phone and started playing with different roms (Ba2tF, Nightly's, Neutrino, Dorian's Red Pill) I've been unable to listen to any streaming audio app through my bluetooth connection. No power AMP, no youtube, not even video audio from the built in media player. I can sometimes hear about 2 seconds from Tune In if I start the app while hearing audio from the music player: the music player audio would stop while the audio from tune-in starts to sound through the car speakers but after about a second and a half the audio gets cut out (but the app screen shows that the audio is still playing). Anyone else has had this issue?
Anyone? anyone?
Canr say i have had this issue cuz i dont use blue tooth for anything but have you checked in the dsp manager and blue tooth settings to see if there is something preventing it? not sure if thats any help buy best of luck.
got the problem solved. I installed Turl's CM9 V9 ROM.
I've looked through the forum and haven't found a problem like this other than on the Hydra rom thread with no answer, so...
I'm having a problem with the bluetooth and audio playback. Whenever I played music on my phone after installing an AOKP rom (Hydra rom), the playback is fine so long as I play with a regular earphones. After I connect it to my bluetooth headphone, it pairs and connects just fine, and then I open the music app (doesn't matter which - stock, mx player, doubletwist) it gives me an error message saying that it doesn't have the ability to play back that file. It goes through the entire music album and stops. I am able to play music files through ES file manager and waze still works and I do hear ringtones when someone calls.
I haven't had this problem on CM9.
Has this happened to anyone else and do they know how to fix it?
Hello,
I was unable to find anything on the problem I am having with my stock HTC One X+.
When listening to music often there would be stutter. Sometimes more than once in one song, other times it wont happen at all.
The stutter sounds like: song playing>stutter>song plays in lower volume for no more than one second>stutter>continues normally.
Oh and also there is this other thing when a song starts then there is a brief moment that the volume lowers and then goes up again to normal. On PowerAmp Music Players.
I hope I explained my problem well.
Phone is HTC One X+
Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5, but using Next Launcher
This happens on every music player i mainly use PowerAmp.
Have you tried to reboot your device? Does this happen also during games?
The problem is PowerAmp. In PowerAmp's audio settings disable direct volume control.
I tried what sixcarnage suggested but it didn't do an good.
The problem doesn't occur in games, but on every music player and not with Poweramp only, I have tried a few and it was the same. I hqve turned off EQ, beats audio and SRS and the problem is still present.
And no restarting does not work.
I experience sometimes audio problems while playing games, but those are random and rare, a reboot helps me always.
What about headphones?
Now that I played for a longer period of time on a game with music the stutter also happens in a game.
