A few things I have noticed - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

So I have had time to play with this for a solid day and a half now and have a few problems:
1: I think I have the bright spot issue. I didn't notice until this morning but now that I have, its very bothersome. Its not a dead pixel, just a small spot that is brighter then the rest.
2: I can't use my power button to turn off the screen or power off the device. It worked for about 3 hours and then it just stops working. Don't know what is causing this problem. I can only fix it by rebooting via adb.
3: I guess I'm getting the reboots too. I was typing all of this and my screen randomly turned white and grey and then rebooted itself. I saw there might be a possible fix but haven't had a chance to look at it. I will tomorrow when I'm at work.
4: I can't make custom alarms? I have it under /sdcard/media/audio/ but I can't see it in the alarm selector. Come to think of it... I don't even have a sdcard in...
Think I should return and get a different one?

Screen went completely red upon waking

About a week ago I had just checked an email using the gmail app and put the phone to sleep. I then remembered I needed to do something else on my phone, so I woke it back up. Upon waking, the entire screen was red, I could see the background still, but there was noticeable artifacing at the top of the screen. I unlocked the phone, and it was still the same. I could use the phone as normal, but the entire screen was a translucent red. I put the phone to sleep and woke it back up and everything was back to normal.
I am still in my 30 days of ownership, so I was wondering if anyone thinks this was a one time bug or if there is a deeper problem. At the time I was not rooted and was running 100% stock.
I'd most definately take that phone back and exchange for another.
It _might_ have been a one time issue, or it might have been a symptom of a hardware issue. Why risk it?
Thats not really a common issue... in fact the first that Ive heard of. Could be a one time issue... or a hardware LCD/screen issue. Id take it back.
I hadn't heard of it either. When it happened the phone was only a few days old.
I regularly replace iphone 4 screens and I have come across red tinted screens. At least on them it was a sign of screen problems, not software. Samsung does/did make screens for Apple. I've never heard of an iphone having a red screen then dying. I have heard of them being red and not ever going back to normal colors.
Not worth the risk for me. If it was my phone I'd exchange it.
Sent from my páhhōniē
I had a similar experience, except the screen went green, and wouldn't go away until I rebooted. It was probably due to CF.Lumen though, or at least that's what I thought.
On my Captivate, every once in a long while the screen would boot or unlock with a weird color tint. Seem to recall it having been green, but couldn't swear to it.
Either way, a quick lock/unlock again made it go away. Always figured it was a software bug somewhere in the display driver...

[Q] Green Screen Galaxy

I just picked up my S3 and the whole screen had a hazy green tint on the lock screen and was the same when I unlocked, and I wasn't gonna mess about so rebooted quick and back to normal now, and I read another thread about it but isn't clear why it happens, but I checked the battery graph and there's just a huge gap as if no power was getting through at all, so has anyone else had this happen on S3 and what's causing it?

Just had this, I put my phone into my shoulder bag, cycled for 10 minutes, picked up the phone and the entire screen was green as if the red and blue pins from a monitor cable had disconnected.
I'm also having charging difficulties, although that may be the cables.
I'm on CM9, literally just updated to the newest nightly now to see if that sorts any issues. There's something just not quite right about this phone of mine. A quick reset was all it took to sort the screen out but it was scary to think such an issue could occur.
All I know is it's something to do with a sudden dip in power and I read about other phones doing it too very occasionally, and after it happened there was a gap on the battery chart as if the phone was getting no power at all.
Sounds like the OS or at least an important process crashed or got stuck (deadlock, livelock, ...).
Green color has something to do with the rendering process and/or screen calibration. All Galaxy S1 with Voodoo patches for the display color values show a green screen for a very short instant after screen-on.
That also explains the gap in the battery stats since a non-functional OS cannot collect any informations.
Did you run any particular apps which might be causing it?
Without any details I can only recommend the standard package: flash your OS again, factory-reset it.
Maybe wiping the cache is enough. Maybe it's a hardware fault, hard to say...
I just rebooted and I've already upgraded since then, and I wasn't doing anything really at the time except I think that was around the time I used G L to SD and it broke the Play Store, but when it Hulked on me I hadn't touched phone for 40 minutes and that's what I saw when I woke it up. but most people say it's a once in a lifetime thing so not really worried.

Help! Screen Wacked out!

Ok, so my girlfriend dropped her phone and cracked the screen, I ordered a new LCD/Digitizer assembly and everything seemed fine. She then realized that it had a dead line while playing Draw Something. I sent back and just received a new assembly and installed it. Ever since I installed it the screen will occasionally black out and lock up. It takes forever for screen to come back up and seems very random in how long. I try powering off and on to no avail. Once it does come back I get an error log in the notification pull down saying it just rebooted form an unexpected reboot error and I have sent this notification 3 or 4 times.
Things I have tried.
Taking apart and checking all connections as well as cleaning screen on inside and out where proximity sensor goes. I am seriously at a loss, it seems to work for a while on a fresh(actual battery pull) and work fine until it just freezes no button push except power button which shuts off screen and then never comes back except for the captivate buttons on the bottom. I have searched for answers but haven't found anyhing like before.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Kevin
I know that feel bro.

I've actually had this exact same problem with my phone. I haven't replaced the screen but ever since the update my phone will do what hers does. It will freeze after a bit of use and I cannot do anything with it but do a simpull and then it will work again for a bit. I haven't been able to fix it. I have done factory resets, had the store reflash the software and yadda yadda yadda. I'm havinh my phone replaced now but it's frustrating not being able to figure out how to fix it when I feel like it should be fixable since it literally didn't even start until minutes after I installed the update.
It sucks.

Flashing/flickering/artifacting screen?

(UPDATE: Here is a link to a short video of my issue: https://youtu.be/YqKW3tU4Fhw)
So I cant seem to find ANY info relating to this issue aside from results for the LG G4, but the solutions for said phone are all over the place. Some are bad screen, some are related to sim tray, some are related to water damage and battery etc. So basically, about a month after buying this phone (KIW-L24 US version), the screen started to artifact and flash in and out randomly. There is nothing that seems to trigger it. I have set the phone down on a table while on the homescreen and watched the lightshow. It is basically a mixture of the problems seen in these videos (Feat. LG G4).
https://youtu.be/gAUkXLR7eQI And https://youtu.be/QstOH66pfiU.
Symptoms:
Screen will randomly start to flicker and fade in and out. I will also get crazy artifacting lines. (Think de-gaussing an old CRT monitor or simillar to what is seen in the second video)
If i see the problems happening, locking the phone and unlocking again will sometimes fix it temporarily. Other times the problem continues after i turn the screen back on.
Sometimes the screen will refuse to come back on. The backlight turns on, and the digitizer responds, but the screen is still black. Making sure the screen really is off, I can come back to the phone a few minutes later and it will turn on. Other times ill have to hard reset the phone (hold power button 10 sec) and it usually brings the screen back to life.
Background:
I bought the phone "used - Like New" from amazon. It came with all the original accessories and even still had the film protector on the back of the phone. I may have noticed these problems after I received the phone, but they really only started to show about a month after purchase.
At first I though it could be software related as I was running CM13 and something could have been corrupted, so i did not just a factory restore, but a full reflash. This didn't solve the issue. Restarting my phone and the reflash did help, but the problem returned. The inability to turn the screen on persists through a reset and I have to wait till the phone boots again to get the screen back. Sometimes takes more than one reboot. This pretty much confirms a hardware issue right? If i put the phone on a black screen, i can see three small fuzzy "dots" in a triangle shape in the top left quadrant. Could the screen have been damaged by whoever owned it before returning it? They are not dead pixels per se, but seems more like areas where the backlight is showing through ever so slightly more. Not visible unless you are on a black screen in a dark room. Ill upload a video showing some of the issues. Any help is appreciated!
im afraid you need a new display brodar...
Seems to be hardware issue. You can visit the nearest service center to get it fixed for few bucks if you don't have warranty.
Yeah that's what i figured, i just needed conformation. I was able to get amazon to take the return even though I was out of the return period. So at least ill be able to get a refund. Ill just pay the extra for a new one this time haha.
One question : Do u have over heat problem with ur phone ?? If u feel ur phone is more than work from the back dont replace . U'll damage the new screen also . Some ppl erported over heat cpu issue with honor ! ;.

Try moving to stock once , if it fixed stick to it for few days . 99% of possible cases for hardware issue .
So better request for a replacement from huawei . but don't mention them that u bought it used . tell them u bought it new

Black Screen

I have run into these issues several times. They seem to be related, but I can't say for sure.
Every now and then while I'm actively using the phone, 1/2 the screen will go away and the phone will be unresponsive. If I shut off the screen, then turn it back on, it usually clears up. Sometimes the screen won't come back on. It stays off no matter what buttons I press. So I put it on the charger, that triggers the screen turning on and everything is back to normal (the battery is always over 50% or more at this point). Yesterday this got to a point of happening several times in 1/2 hour, so I ended up rebooting to see if it would clear it up. This issue did not come back since then.
On a similar note, I was playing a game this morning in a dark room with the brightness turned all the way down. I was being very active in interacting with the screen. Every now and then the screen would go black, except for the notification bar. I could still see that (time and statuses of things running). The screen would not respond to any touches, so I would shut the screen off and turn it back on and all would be good. This happened 2-3 times over a 45 min period. I play this game quite often, but not usually in the dark and often not as actively as I was doing. My resolution is set in the middle (FHQ+ I think it's called).
Has anyone else run into anything like this?
This S9+ snapdragon through Verizon just seems to be plagued with so many minor issues. I've never had a new phone with this many problems.

As a followup, I think I have found the problem. It seems to be with a product called Game Tuner. It can black out the screen while leaving the app running in the background. I think it is buggy. Doesn't seem to be a way to shut it off though.

I was able to uninstall, then install an older version of Game Tuner and the problem that was easiest to reproduce was fixed. Hopefully this will prevent the weird 1/2 screen thing as well.
