Dear all,
I have done a thorough research in this and other forums, but I didn't find an answer to my question:
What does exactly mean TA-6 in the build number?
I bought a Razr on Amazon.de, without branding.
In the about phone screen I see:
System version: 651.73.18.XT910.Retail.en.EU
Build number: 6.5.1-73_SPU-9-TA-6
Motorola said that the last official OTA should be received also by RAZRs with my system version.
As a matter of fact, since I bought the Phone (begin December) I never received updates ("you phone is up to date, bla bla bla").
This is in-line with what few users say here, i.e. that TA-6 devices do not get updates.
Now, my question is: What is the difference between a build with TA-6 and without TA-6? Why are TA-6 devices not updated with the others?
Regards,
Wally

I've just bought an Atrix here in Australia that was sourced from Kogan and I was wondering what software upgrade options are available for this particular model. I was hoping to get an official build of 2.3.4 running, but from what I've read, that won't be possible (note that Kogan have no idea how to upgrade it even though they list it as "upgradeable to 2.3"). So my question is, what would I need to do to be able to run a 2.3.4 based rom, if anything?
Below is the basic device info...
System version: Version.4.4.23.MB860.Vodafone.en.EU
Model number: MB860
Android version: 2.2.2
Baseband version: N_01.95.00R
I've also had some problems enabling 3G data on the Australian Telstra NextG network (tired all the possible APN configurations), but that's an unrelated problem at the moment.
Coming from a Huawei Ideos X5 and before that a HTC Magic, the world of the Motorola Atrix seems a little confusing to me. So any help is much appreciated.
Cheers
Kogan Atrix 4G - Upgrade to Gingerbread

sorry to get your hopes up, this is not an answer.
I am merely in the same situation and received my Kogan issue Atrix 4G today and would like to upgrade to an official release, as I am confident in my own ability about rooting the device.
I was hoping to find on the internet if the ATT upgrade would work on all MB860 models but nothing so far.
Cheers,

Bump. I bought this from a German seller on eBay and I have the exact device info. I would like to upgrade to Gingerbread. Who do we have to bug to get an official update, Vodafone?
Is it possible that *shudder* an update will never come out?
Hello!
I got this phone for free, can I update it to Android 4.2? If somebody can point me to a tutorial (topic), I found several but since I'm new to the mobile world I'm kinda afraid of ruining the device. I think it's unlocked since I can put any chip on it without a problem.

Thank you!
PS: It shows no updated available, even after lifehacker .com/5946585/force-an-android-device-to-check-for-a-system-update
If the force update shows that this phone doesn't have a update available. Their might be some unofficial roms which are released by people other than your carrier but this might need you to root and install a recovery on your phone but it is highly unlikely due to the fact that this phone is a clone and doesn't have as big of a user base as the originals.
Maybe I'm overreacting, but I was deceived by two 'new phone' sellers lately, and today I found out that the software version on my S9+, bought directly from Samsung, has software ver. 07 and I just can't account for so many updates since the phone was manufactured in Korea on 06/09/18. After the purchase I did just one OTA on 07/27 for June 1, security update and prior to that I can read some info from the phone that it had 8.0.0 status on Jun 08 and SMR Jun-2018 Release 1. My phone is official, the KNOX is fine and, according to on-line IMEI check, there should be no concerns about hardware/software state of this phone. So, has anyone a simple explanation for it or I should be directing that question to Samsung?
Hello. I've been reading posts since February that people are getting updates to android 12 and MIUI 13 on Mi 11 Lite 5G. On my phone, ever since I bought it, I have version 12.5.5. This is marked as "MIUI Global Stable" RKIEUXM, and the latest security update is since 2021-08-01, which seems odd, it's not an old phone, it should get regular updates.
In some posts it was mentioned that I should change region from current one (Poland) to a Switzerland, Japan or India to get the update, but that didn't work.
I don't want to root my device and update via fastboot nor recovery, since I don't want to lose warranty.
Is there any way I can get an update to my phone, or my region (or something else) is locking me from it and I still need to wait?
Edit:Found solution in https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/mi-11-lite-5g-cant-update.4418983/
Can be closed.
I have had my A21s (SMA217F) for over 15 months and have never received an update. The checker always says that my software is up to date, although the current version is dated January 2021 and I know it should be more up to date than that! It is the same connecting to a computer for SmartSwitch.
I am in the UK and ordered from a UK website, but according to Samsung, my serial number shows the phone was manufactured in Kazakhstan. Samsung Help suggest this is why I haven't had any updates and that I should wait, they will come...I don't think they will, not after all this time.
Please can you guide me to the best step-by-step solution for enabling my phone to receive updates now and in the future? I don't want to root the phone, I would like to keep official status. Thank you for your help!
