My white Galaxy S2 Are getting brown ! - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have an one month old white Galaxy S2 and now the back frame are almost brown . I have a picture off it here mobil.zaki.dk I´m wondering if there are others out there with the same problem ?
Normally i have the phone in a microfibre pouch. I believe that the plastic are without UV-protection.
The phone haven't been exposed to any chemicals or dirt. The only thing i believe is that it must be extremely sensitive to UV. I´m just wondering it´s a phone that´s been sold in millions. There must be other with the same problem.

WHY a double post and why when the question has been answered .

haha.....everyone gets so butt hurt here. I hope this thread gets deleted
If it actually still has the scondary film covering over it then use a wooden or soft plastic tooth pick to slide up under the screen protector and simply remove it. I would wait until you have a replacement before doing this. I've been a PDA user for years and I learned the hard way early on that the first thing you should do is put on the screen protector or you end up with a scratched screen.

Being "productive" is a relative point of view. Many of us consider you starting a new thread with a double post as non-productive.
I am not being a forum cop. I have just as much right to my posts as you do and the community polices itself. Maybe you also missed that in the forum rules. But we can let the mods decide once they see this.
My opinion is that your initial question is a little ridiculous. Is original protector removable? Really?????
If you are referring to the flimsy protective film that ships on the device? It is removable. Otherwise you would need to try and look through the message that is pre-printed on it.
If you mean the protector that is shipped in the box, well that is also removable if you have attached it.
If you mean ANY screen cover, then the answer is still yes. They are all removable.
I hope that is a productive answer for you and you will drop this silly question.

Thanks for your help but, I don't know if there is any "secondary film" on the screen. Of course I'm not talking about any film with writing on it. My question is, Is there a protector installed on the screen that shoud removed before installing the extra spare that is included in the box? I don't want to start digging around without even knowing if there is a removable screen protector there. I guess what I need to do is call HTC and get the answer. Thanks anyway.
Oh yeah, for the forum cops, I started this second post because I wasn't getting any response from the first.

Ever think that you didn't get any answer because the question was so silly?
If you ask the question 100 times does that make it a better question? I don't see any fine print in the forum rules that states if you don't get a reply you should pepper the board with the question until someone answers you. I guess you have become accustomed to getting an immediate answer to any question you have. It must be nice.
Thanks for the award. It just reaffirms my belief in your intelligence and maturity. Have a nice day.
For the record, there is no secondary, tertiary, or other film on the device. Just slap your screen protector on there like all of us do. It really is not a big deal.

[Q] Cases without the DMB cutout

Are there any cases WITHOUT the DMB cutout that are as good looking as the SGP cases? I am liking most of the cases from SGP except they all have seem to have the DMB cutout.
This is no good because I've dropped my phone yesterday and it just happened to land on that particular corner. Now my phone is dented and I need a case to cover it for now.
Thanks for your suggestions
Suggestion would be to ask /look in the
Galaxy S II Accessories section
Logical place for case reviews .

I had this problem too and my phone's currently getting repaired. Sent it in because I had yellow tint, but also mentioned the loose bottom so hopefully they fix that too.

so not worthy to bring it back and get the phone replaced (in my country they have to replace it if i bring it back within 3 working days), cuz i most likely end up in the same situation? i also have this cracky plastic noise... oh, i love this phone otherwise, especially after my x10 one more minor problem is that the BL is not unlockable, that was disappointing, too, but hey, i can live with it for now until i get ICS
thanks for the answers everyone!
I don't know... i should just try to swap it, I don't have the problem with my XS

@everyone: please, just before pressing that shiny and very attractive submit button, ask yourself:
Is what you have written worthy of posting?
Does it create VALUE* - or is it mere NOISE?
Can the amount of quoted text be reduced some more?

Got the screen, can't find the screws. Nevermind - that was off-topic & sorry for bringing it up
But, I don't understand why you replied like that to mihahn's reply? he was just helping you and that's how you reply? If you already looked in eBay you could've just replied that you did look and it's not there. People here have no compulsion to help others but we voluntarily do because we love to help others and that's certainly not how you reply.

Man I think I know how to make posts, but if you ask "where do I get these damned black screws?" and there were some ppl who found them on ebay, I just let you know. Maybe you could just tell us in your first post what exactly you have and what you need, where you looked etc.

Yes, you're probably right and I'm sorry. I didn't look back at what I posted before replying, I had all forgotten about me even mentioning the screws and was in an annoyed mood because too many people keep posting low-content, off-topic comments, cluttering the forum beyond usefulness. Seems it is beyond my abilities to change that, or I might even have a totally wrong perception of this. I'm back to lurking in the dark silently.

No of course it's great to see you in the forums, maybe we've just misunderstood something
Sorry, but if you (we) can't find them on ebay, I don't know where to get them. Usually most people don't need these screws...
//I know posting should be English, but just that I understand it right:
//Also es fehlen nur die schwarzen Schrauben für innen? Und mehr nicht? (So only the black screws are missing? Nothing else?)
//Sind die verloren gegangen oder wozu? (Have you lost them or why do you need them?)
You don't have to lurke in the dark. Just be polite and it's good to see you apologize for your mistakes (trust me, not many people do that) You are always encouraged to ask doubts and post useful information!

Never buy only a replacement digitizer, it's very difficult (nearly impossible) to separate without breaking LCD: https://www.google.de/search?q=separate+lcd+digitizer
Better buy a complete lcd + touch digitizer "assembly", they have become quite cheap (starting from 15$/€):
www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?Search...e=15&maxPrice=30&SortType=price_asc&isRtl=yes
Pretty cool to have that
Thanks !

thks my friend, i will buy one of these.
but i'm little curious. Apparently the display is ok, just the touch doesn't work. I've noticed that the screen is "transpiring" too much moisture and some screws and springs were rusting. Has anyone tried to find out why the touch fails along the time? its maybe a CI problem or umidity

Well humidity becomes a problem especially when the device temperature is much lower than room temperature (like when coming in from winter/snow ) because the air surrounding the device surfaces cools down and water condenses, even on the inside.. it happens with watches, too..
Or you (or someone close to you) might have dropped it into liquid (toilet?) when you were very drunk
in that case, take out battery IMMEDIATELY, dry clean with a cloth, carefully shake out remaining fluid, then put f.e. into a bowl of dry rice and wait at least 24 hours before trying to power it up..

This thread is a bit old already but I just unearthed my old SK17i while I was rummaging through my stuff. It got stashed away when it suddenly shutdown while it was charging. Checking, its battery terminals were shorted. Something gave way.
Perhaps you have a parts placement file lurking somewhere? I've tried our friend Google but she came empty-handed.

uhhm sorry, only the ones I uploaded.. Maybe just take it to your nearest repair cafe for help?
I have still like three or four sk17s here with various states of brokenness (screen, plugs, buttons, speaker...)
It was a really usable device, only the android java app sh1t overhead slugged it to death..
with some luck, a wayland phone distro will be usable on it someday :cyclops:

[Q] unglued touchscreen?

a few days ago I woke up noticing a strange thing on the screen, at first I thought maybe I scratch it or something until a closer look revealed the problem is in the interior! the phone was not dropped or damaged in any way, just a small thin line that got wider an longer after some days! Anyone has any clue about what is going one with my screen???
is this covered by warranty?
strange thing, never happened before to anyone? ??
p.s:I'm in germany (work) for some months and cannot take the phone to the repair center!
that's obviously the only option though
