a few days ago I woke up noticing a strange thing on the screen, at first I thought maybe I scratch it or something until a closer look revealed the problem is in the interior! the phone was not dropped or damaged in any way, just a small thin line that got wider an longer after some days! Anyone has any clue about what is going one with my screen???
is this covered by warranty?
strange thing, never happened before to anyone? ??
p.s:I'm in germany (work) for some months and cannot take the phone to the repair center!
that's obviously the only option though

Auto driving mode.
Doesn't charge or it does when he wants.
Random shutdowns.
Etc.
When I send it to the service, they told me that the phone is working fine.
Now I want to broke my phone so they don't have another chance than give me a new one.
Advices?
Thanks.
Best fried with a little lard .
Or are you asking how to break your phone so you can return under a false premiss and steal the money .
Thats theft whichever way you look at it .

take out the battery...apply high voltage randomly in the phone terminals..

If they do they job and check that the phone isn't working like expected, they MUST to give me a new one, and that's not theft.

It is if you break it on purpose.
Its totally against the ethos of XDA to go around ripping people off.
You have problems that have been tested and reported as not a problem ( you can always get a second opinion ) .You now want to damage the phone yourself so as to get a new one thats fraud .

I can't believe he started a thread actually asking for advice!

Are you kidding? They are the crooks. Refusing him his right for a new phone (as stated in contract). It is a software problem that is the manufacturers responsibility to fix/replace. So, in order to get what is rightfully his, he is asking a fair question. Now for example, I looked up this topic because I bricked my phone rooting it. Now I'm going to fry my phone and get a new one. That is fraud and theft. Good day.
^^^
Wrong. Issues with firmware do not entitle you to a new device. Nor does bricking your phone as a result of your obvious incompetence/inability to do something as basic as rooting a phone successfully. I've reported this thread and your post in particular. What you're proposing is absolutely fraudulent & the actions of a petulant 3 yr old child. Grow up.

Sorry, but you're 100% wrong. The manufacturer is only responsible for physical defects on the device out of the factory, or during normal use of the device. They are not responsible for damage caused to the device by the user, for example, shattered screen from a drop, water damage, or in your case, bricking the phone while rooting it due to your own incompetence. You are in no way entitled to a replacement, and you are committing fraud if you attempt to do so.

Are you for real?? You call phone manufacturers crooks when you yourself are screwing/frying your phone. Did they put a gun on your head to buy their device? Stop deluding yourself of modern-day-robinhood-ism. I admire your stupidity that you are even defending it

I have an one month old white Galaxy S2 and now the back frame are almost brown . I have a picture off it here mobil.zaki.dk I´m wondering if there are others out there with the same problem ?
Normally i have the phone in a microfibre pouch. I believe that the plastic are without UV-protection.
The phone haven't been exposed to any chemicals or dirt. The only thing i believe is that it must be extremely sensitive to UV. I´m just wondering it´s a phone that´s been sold in millions. There must be other with the same problem.

I had my phone for a lil over a month . its was in perfect condition i had it in a case with a screen protector since i day i got it. then i lost it . i will admit i was a lil drunk when i lost it and for the life of me couldnt find it. So I reported it lost and my insurance replaced it. Well last night my girlfriend comes over and tell me look what i found in back of the couch. So now I have 2 Notes . I want to know it the Note I lost is still good will it work? can i sell it and not get introuble. I know what the right thing to do is. I just want to know if there are any other options.
Unlock the IME# and see if it'll take a different SIM card. If so, then just sell it as an unlocked note. Should bring you decent cash.
On second thought... don't. Um... it's rubbish, just mail it to me. I'll um... take... care... of it.
Unlock it and sell it.

you have seen the articles about the carriers getting together to track, lost, and stolen phones, right? The IME number is like a fingerprint. You use that one, or sell it, and they will find out, and probably find you. Be smart, and tell your insurance, or be stupid, and get nailed for fraud.
Sell it for a quick 500 have the phones lost or stolen will take any aim card trust. I i have connected phones I found with no problem just called at& the and told them I purchased on ebay and they got it going

That's paranoid. If they do find it, all they can do is track it to the person using it. Just sell it on craigslist at a random public meeting place and don't tell the buyer any personal info.

Unlocked means you can use any sim card. AT&T does not block the IMEI# for whatever reason. I was reading a article about [email protected] being investigated for activating phone that have been reported stolen. I have had phones that i bought for really cheap from people who where kinda shady and im sure they where stolen and t-mobile & AT&T hooked them up with no questions asked.

Hi people, need some help with my motherboard on my Galaxy S2 and thought you might be able to help.
Initially I took the advice of a website to use a paper clip in the aerial connection on the back to increase signal... it worked, however, it never gathered signal again without this addition.
After a while the aerial connector broke, but I was able to solder a wire to the open contact on the PCB.
Today the contact broke free from the PCB which left me with nothing to solder to.
I found a page on anandtech.com at the location /print/4686 which shows all the PCB in a nice detail.
Below the sentence 'Moving right is the Infineon Smarti UE2 RF transciever...' there is a chip with 1EH 117 .1.3 which is on the opposite side of where the aerial connector was. Does anyone know what this chip does?
To sum up, does anyone know if any of these connector pins on the chip leads to the aerial connector?
I doubt I would be able to find a schematic of the wiring, and a new motherboard will cost about £150+. So I figure if I can solder a wire to something a bit more solid I could save myself some money.
Any help welcome.
Thanks

Nope this person is good with H/W I guess, this forum mostly deal with software issues, as most of us are apparently application developers, and only some of the best and those who are knowledgeable do tinkering with hardware, so you better contact someone who works on creating roms like CM as they will have some amount of hardware understanding.
Using GT - I9100
I thank those who give helpful comments
I expect the same from others.
Unless you're experienced at working with microelectronics, don't try and fix it yourself. A millimetre the wrong way with the soldering iron & you'll completely trash the phone.
Pay someone who knows what they're doing to replace the MB/fix it, and consider the 150 quid an expensive lesson in not messing around with things you don't fully understand/can't fix if you bork it (sticking a paperclip in the aerial connection; not something I'd do with a $700 piece of electronics).
Where can I buy a motherboard ?
I'll test another battery tomorrow, but I'm sure the MB is fried
Will You Please Start with the Problem, i mean i dont understand what problem you are facing

It looks like my i9100 main board is dead. I don't know how or why because I was simply reading when it shut off. I had the EMMC bug, or maybe it is because it took some water a year ago.. I don't know.
Anyway I'm out of warranty and have to repair it myself, but I cant find a main board seller for the SGS2 on internet (tried ebay, amazon etc), I'm stuck.

And that makes a magical fix appear how exactly ? The fix is the same whether you live in Albania, Australia or on the Moon; replace the motherboard. How you get one (off a 'donor' 2nd hand phone or pay Samsung to replace it) is up to you.

And you can't post it to Samsung/authorised repairer in whatever country they have same closest to Albania why; you do have a postal service in Albania I presume ?
One isn't going to magically appear on eBay because you've posted on XDA that you can't find one. There's nothing more anyone here can say to you. Monitor eBay constantly for as long as it takes & you'll get one eventually (if you're quick). Once you have a busted phone, take it to a local mobile repair shop, and ask them to take the motherboard out of the broken phone, and put it in your phone.
Done.
If I understand it right, you don't have anything to say because you can't imagine anything different from your world.
This is the kind of answer I was expecting : http://www.parts4repair.com/samsung-i9100-galaxy-s-ii-main-board-with-program/
And as I specified above, I can replace the part myself, no need for a repairing shop or sending it anywhere.

So you were posting here purely to spam ? (Given you were obviously able to find what you were looking for/obviously lied about not being able to find same).
Edit -No, you clearly don't understand anything. At all. I said what I said because that is what I would do, I.E if I needed a motherboard replacement, I'd either get an authorised repairer to do it, or I'd get a donor board from a busted phone. It's really quite simple. You obviously have problems with that.

What a thread
Well, since the Galaxy S2 comes with Gorilla Glass, the compression of the glass's material is too good to break that easily. I accidentally dropped my phone on a rocky road, thought I broke the glass but all what happened was scratch the phone's screen protector. Don't try doing absurd moves or intentionally dropping your phone, unless you don't need your phone anymore, go for breaking it
