Does anyone have any recommendations for a basic text editor for light programming, similar to notepad++.

yeah, notepad++
Oh, you mean for Android.... there are a few on the market, check out android web editor, and go from there.

Was looking for Notepad++ as well and could not find it anywhere, I ended up using Webmaster Lite,...Not as great
I am just using Jota. It is nowhere near as functional as Notepad++ and isn't optimize for tablets, but is a basic text editor with line number capabilities and no required permissions, good enough for quick coding on the go. If anyone knows a ICS optimize code editor, please let me know.

I use Vi IMproved (vim) by way of a chroot. For something contemporary and Android native, try touchqode.

Have you tried txtpad lite, I found that very handy to write a few text documents, lots of options even with the lite version.

I don't know is default browser from ASUS or Android anycase problem with it is that all websites are showing mobile version of website and since we have 1200x800 I want to see natural full website.
How to achieve that ?
you can request for a desktop site from stock browser settings. though this change only works for that session. i could not find a permanent way of doing this.
i shifted over to dolphin hd. love the gesture support .

ICS Browser+ app lets you set user agent to desktop among other useful tweaks.

ICS+ browser is a free market app.
Found this in the q&a section. Type about:debug in browser then settings/debug/UAstring. You will then see the option to change to desktop. I just tried it and it seems to work but will need to do further testing to see if it will stick.
The ICS Browser+ app is available here. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.beansoft.browserplus
Tried all the other alternative browsers but was still having a heck of a time with Flash on one of my roommate's favorite sites. The about:debug trick seems to reset upon reboot or exiting the browser. Browser+ makes the desktop agent stick permanently.

Can you please be more specific, how to find this. is this under browser settings or what. I went everywhere and couldn't find what you are reffering to...
So I use the default ICS browser to navigate to the support section of the ASUS web site and I want to download a PDF manual. Tapping the usual link I'd use on my PC yields no useful response. So, what to do?
Thanks,
Bye.

I had the same problem trying to download the ICS-update. Don't understand how Asus can have such a crazy setup so that their own products can't download from their webpage!
Anyway, I solved it by using Opera Mobile, then I could click the links on the Asus website.
Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, it is kind of weird that their web browser does not fully work on their support web site.
Bye.

laptop/desktop are still the largest user base for web.
it won't be so soon till they are "tabletnised"
also some flash sites typing they do not prompt the softkeyboard on android causing you unable to type without a hardware keyboard.
and YES opera is the BEST browser for downloading links.
I would like to share the prime with hubby. Is there a way to create user profiles? We don't have the same preferences ( he's so not a fan of dolphin water wallpaper).
I found an app that would do it, but it requires root. I'm not ready to go there and on .21 so that option is out.

Hi , im thinking about to buy a Asus eee pad transformer/prime , can't decide.
and i saw aloooot of reviews and stuff like themes if you root it.
For an example , metro Ui , And Xbox dashboard theme, ive been looking for something to look alike windows.
There are alot of things that makes me want to buy this tablet.
For an example (the primary thing) open it up superfast Open the web browser or check mails really easy and to watch movies.
But since i saw you can also root it and make it play Modern combat 3 with mouse
or just without rooting it play With a xbox360 gamepad.
Sorry got off-topic
But anyways im requesting any theme looking like windows (NOT METRO UI) <
the main reason im not going to upgrade to win8 when it comes, unless you can disable it.
Or otherwise a Mac theme , Or anything to make it really look like a notebook in the home
Im not a android user now but ive had a android phone before i broke it.
Thank you in advance : D!
Theres an xbox theme and tutorial on here if you look around.
Edited, here it is

Quick hijack of this thread, but does anyone know of a lock screen that acts and looks like the Windows Metro one, where you slide the picture up.
Thanks in advance.

Check go locker app. They have that theme but not sure how suited it is for tablet. I use it on Samsung Galaxy S2.

In the release preview how? I hate the metro look on a pc.
There is an app for the phones called launcher 7 but it does not work on tablets, maybe u want to search the play store and ask the creator to make it for tablets too.
Secondly, you could also use splash top to make it look like windows too!
yes, going all the way back to Win8 Developer Preview

Yeah I seen this but not for the release preview, I had to set up a scheduler to bypass it when the pc starts. and use an app to make a start button
For real? I bet if the registry does not allow switching modes out-of-the-box, adding the key or string from the developer preview would fix the problem after reboot.

I have a Website whis is optimized for 1024x768 but on my Prime (Zoom disabled) it doesn´t fit
I have an Element which width is exact 1024px and it fits perfect on the screen that means my resolution on the prime is only 1024px wide...
Maybe this is an issue with my Rom but I need to know if this is on other roms including stock the same.
Cheers
Steven
you can test on http://www.pw-guardians.de if you only see the grey border around the imageslider this is the 1024px element.
I looked at your website it might help to go to the setting and request desktop site for it. It looked different when I tried it. That might be your problem it might be forcing it to a mobile version.

Thanks, I did not mention that I mean the Desktop Version of my site.
Did the site end with the grey border?
