inside the cm7 system recovery app, it says "connect your phone to nothing" compared to how stock BSR says "plug phone into wall outlet". I cannot get the cm7 system recovery to work unless its plugged into the wall. Is it still tethered or have I done something wrong?
It has to be plugged into the wall even though it says "nothing."

Hi guys, first post!
I really need help as I think I've tried everything.
I installed CM7 but it was low on battery while installing. Midway through the install process the screen said I need to plug into the charger that came with my device. Then it instantly went to the screen with an exclamation point and says
www dot palm dot com/ROM
Power+Center just gets it back to the same screen.
WebOS always fails at 1% and says it could not be reset.
I've tried ClockworkMod but it is unable to reinstall the .zip files.
I ran WebOS through command prompt and it said the required files were locked by an unknown file.
PLEASE HELP, my touchpad is useless now and I don't fully know what to do in ClockworkMod, which seems to be the only thing that works right now.
Here is what I Did
This is what worked for me....good luck
I would recommend you hard power it off by power and center buttton for 15 seconds.
Make sure you have charged it
Then Run the webOSdoctor program.
For me I rebooted the tablet and held the volume up button until the USB symbol popped on the screen...then the WEBOS Doctor found the tablet and we where on the road to recovery.
Give it a shot and let us know if this helps. You won't be the first or the last to get this issue.
Wait... it died while installing?
Part 1: breathe
Part 2:
IF you can get into cwm right?
In CWM, you can mount the tablet as a USB drive, then copy the update cm7.zip file to it... and install it.
DO you have the blue text boot menu?
If not you need to install moboot again...
you can do that AFTER you've fixed cm7...
IF all else fails, and you can't install cm7 via CWM, then doctor it.
If you don't know how to use CWM, google it... it's pretty straight forward.
Lesson: Don't update when battery is low?
I have a quick question. I rooted my phone and then installed Bootstrap Recovery on the Motorola Photon 4G (clockworkmod). Now I want to sell my phone and what I did was a factory reset in order wipe everything out(meaning erase root and Bootstrap Recovery on the Motorola Photon 4G (clockworkmod) ). The phone works good but my only question is when I have my phone turned off and I plug the wall charger it stays stuck in the Motorola animation, it does not bypass that. The only way to get my phone working is by removing the battery. Then I plug the wall charger in order to charge. Is this normal??
If you're just plugging in your powered-off phone, staying on the motorola splash is the default behavior. If you're turning it on via the power button then that's odd.
Did you flash any rom, or just install cwm with rsdlite?
Thanks for your response! But I actually used Motorola Lite and flashed the stock rom and it worked like charmed.. Everything is back to normal... Thanks

Everytime I plug in Nook Charging cable it keeps booting over and over. If I plug in my samsung galaxy cable it charges but the moment I plug in it just turns off completely and wont turn on until I unplug. I originally had a dual boot system running for 1.4.0 which is my nook version and tried to do a recovery which said successful from the file I created but when I rebooted the whole system didnt know what to use for what and kept asking then crashing. I factory wipe/reset after the problem started and upgraded to CM10 cynogen mod with the new JellyBean no duel boot. RUNS AMAZING. But the charging problems still remains, even when I booted stock after factory reset it was still doing this. I have CWM installed internally. Please help me I have looked over many threads one said it was an update problem created with AdobeFlash updates and I tryed to flash the fix listed but it just says error during install and aborts. Also it will stay on during the cynogen mod boot screen even if i plug in either charger but at the top it just says "Charging Disabled" says the precent. I left it plugged in at this screen and it didnt charge one percent after 30 minutes.
I just want to charge it and have it on at the same time. Please any help, any ideas and comments is appreciated. Thank You
i have this problem too. I'm using CM10. My battery died and wouldn't charge no matter how long I had it plugged in for.
Then recently it turned on, but when it is plugged into the wall, it just constantly reboots.
Any help?
1.) When I rooted my phone, I originally flashed TWRP as my recovery. I then switched to CWR because I heard it was needed for CM10. Now when I open the ROM Manager app, it lists that I have both recoveries installed. Is this a problem? Can it cause any issues? Is there any way to remove TWRP so it;s not listed in ROM Manager?
2.) This may be normal, but I doubt it. When I power off my phone and plug it into a wall charger, it automatically boots to recovery for about 30 seconds and then automatically reboots my phone back to android (doesn't matter which ROM, stock or CM10 based. Although with CM ROMs it sometimes goes into a boot loop depending on the ROM). Even if I try and power off with the wall charger plugged in first, it goes to recovery and boots back up automatically., I have no way to charge the phone with the power off. Is this normal? Does it happen to anyone else? Does anyone know a way to stop it?
Thanks for any help on either question.....

1) TWRP and CWM both work fine. Try uninstalling, then re-installing ROM Manager... though I'm not sure I really understand what you mean by "it lists that I have both recoveries installed". Are you sture it's not just informing you of the latest CWM available through ROM Manager (which is not newer than posted in my CWM thread)?
2) This issue is already listed under "Known Issues" for both CWM and TWRP. If you let the phone do it's quirky boot into recovery, but then just leave it alone, it will shut down and charge while the phone is off.
1.) I'd have to grab a screenshot, but I am 99.999% sure it says something on the bottom about recoveries installed and it lists both CWR and TWRP. It hasn't seemed to cause any issues. I was just curious if it might and/or if anyone has ever seen this.
2.) Did not know this was a known problem. I thought maybe I did something wrong when I rooted the phone.
Thanks for the info....
Hi,
about a month ago, I managed to brick my XT910 - I was doing factory reset when I had couple of images installed (using safestrap).
The Battery went dead, as it entered a bootloop which I didn't notice.
I ordered a "Factory Cable", and now I'm able to use AP Fastboot recovery to flash a new image (4.1.2 image). As long as I'm connected with the factory cable to the computer, everything seems OK (flash succeed, I can go and setup the new system, connect to wifi...).
But - the battery never charges. As soon as I take off the factory cable, the phone dies. When I'm connecting regular charger, or regular USB cable to the computer, I get the red circle "M" logo, but it never progress - not booting and not showing the battery image.
Any idea how to solve this?
Thanks,
Ilan
Try keeping it plugged in for a few hours. It should charge.

Have tried, it was connected with both the factory cable and regular charger for few hours each times.
The battery picture (when the phone is off, but connected to power) doesn't even show up.
Any idea if the boot might have been defected? If so - any way to fix it?
I do able to go into fastboot & recovery boot options.
Thanks
Have you tried charging it through your usb port. Using the normal cable.
If nothing else works, Flash the stock ROM using RSDLite. It should fix any issue related to bad flash or anything corrupted.
Yes - tried charging with regular cable from the USB port - nothing comes on in the screen, just the led is glowing white.
I've tried to flash few stock images - 4.0.4 versions I can get flashed, and they run, but the battery icon shows a question mark (and in the system settings-> battery it says unknown).
2.3.6 images do not flash at all (I get failed in RDSlight on the first stage).
Any idea? Is there a boot only file I can flash another way.
Thanks
