Sent from my DROID RAZR using XDA App

Try Droid wall.. doubled my battery life without needing to switch of data or background sync. I only allowed whatsapp, viber, line, Facebook and some certain calender and email apps to access the net.others are blocked including games.
it works. But you need a rooted phone to use Droid wall.

Hey guys for some reason my battery is being hammered, I've got trillian running cus I like to be signed in all times but I'm using battery saver mode and push to email
I have launcher pro widgets on half hour refresh I've amended that to 1hr and plume every half hour.
Screen is on automatic and im using gmail for email
At work I had 98% didn't use it % (in my pocket) 2 hours later I'm on 69%?
Is it trillian hammering me? I used to love being signed in all the time on blackberry so would like a similar solution
Thanks

check the battery saving mode under the settings on trillian.
I think there were some apps that were running. You can go tothe navigation: setting/application/battery use to see them. The another way, you try factory data to clean everything which you installed.
In the other hand, new battery is unstable. It needs about 2 weeks
Good luck

Look at your battery stats.. Sounds like something is keeping the phone awake.
As a general rule the phone should only very rarely be "awake" when the screen is off.. If it's on alot then start trying to troubleshoot the various apps.. Although trillian is definitely where i would start.
Yeah id say it be trillian, its a battery drainer program as its uses constant internet connection
I'm still calibrating my battery (it's been on 0% for half an hour and it's still hanging on for dear life with the screen on constantly!) but I have trillion so I'll check it out on next charge

If you are out and about turn off WiFi, it's a battery drainer.
Turned trillian off, still losing battery
Says android system 95%
Wifi off

Over the past couple days I've had to manually refresh my gmail inbox to recieve email. Prior to this it would automatically push email to my phone. I have tried the following things to try and resolve the issue. Do you have any other suggestions?
1)Clear data and cache for the app
2)Check that gmail is listed under settings, accounts
3)Re-install the gmail app
4)Multiple phone reboots
5)Ensuring the battery mode does not throttle syncing
I would like to try installing a version earlier than 2.3.5 (current version). Does anyone have an apk for an earlier version?
Thank you.
When I had that issue all I did was uninstall the update and reinstall
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
What version are you running? That did not fix the error for me.
I'm running the most recent version 2.3.5 do you have any application that work with the gmail application?

This might help, as I had a similar issue.
Go into settings and click on your email address. Scroll all the way down to "Labels to notify" and click on it. Once you are in this menu, you will see Inbox and Priority Inbox. Inbox will not have any notifications on. Turn all of them on.
This helped me. I get double notifications, but it's necessary because I don't know how to tell my Gmail what is a priority and what is not. Seems pretty stupid, but it worked for me...
I appreciate the suggestion and tried it. However it did not work. I should emphasize that the problem is that the inbox is not updating unless I load the program, run it, and then manually refresh it. It doesn't even auto update while its running, or not running for that matter.

One more thing. Check your battery mode under settings. If it's set to anything other than 'performance' then sync will turn off at certain times. Also, do you have CPU tuner, juice defender, or something similar installed?

Tried that too...modified op to reflect this.

Settings>Accounts>Your Google Accoutrements>Make Sure Gmail Is Checked For Sync. I've Had That Problem Before.
Interestingly, there is no way to check anything. When I click on my google account it lists several google programs. Clicking on any of these only does a manual sync. It does not actually check anything. Anyone else see this with their phone.

This Is What You Should See After Clicking On Your Google Account.
Im running rooted stock 2.3.3 (it looks like you are rommed), but yeah, I have no green check boxes.

No ROM Made My Own Theme. Can You Check The Boxes?
Sorry guys. I need to apologize. I didn't realize I had a power control widget on an alternate launcher that I was no longer using. Auto synching was disabled on it, which has caused the problem. Thank you to those who offered suggestions.

My wife and I both have Rezounds. I went to show her the Usage Monitor so she could track her minutes, and its not in her App Drawer. Titanium Backup shows it as installed though. I've tried to freeze and defrost it in an effort to make it come back, but it didn't work. Any suggestions?
Look at settings - power - battery usage.

Appreciate the reply, but I think you misunderstood. The Rezound comes with an app that lets you track your minutes/text/data usage so you don't go over your monthly allowance. I'm not looking to track battery usage.
Go to your widgets its not an app.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using XDA App
No, what the op is referring to is an app, not a widget.
Op try clearing cache and restarting. If that doesn't work...try a different launcher and see if that gets the app to show up in the app drawer. If that doesn't work, I'd look at getting adb running and shell in to the system to see if u can see the app listed in /system/app, if so copy it to the sdcard and try installing it on the phone from there.
Otherwise, worst case scenario, a restore.

I had this issue on my incredible 2 running sense 3.5 roms. If you have Verizon my mobile app installed it overwrites or hides the usage monitor app.
If you uninstall Verizon my mobile and restart the rezound usage monitor will show up.
I just tried it and it worked. The one Dev I mentioned it to back on the inc2 hypothesized that the apks are similar and thus causes the stock usage app to disappear.

Hi, I am bit confuse. Do you install Verizon my mobile app youself? I think it do come with the Rezound by default. Do you root the device or all stock?
hi..i have a razr xt912 in india..the verizon edition...it was workin fine on airtel but i did a factory reset from the recovery menu(i.e.wipe data)..now on switching on the phone it is showing the setup icon..when i touch it a message displays the sim card is from unknown source...although i'm able to receive calls or messages...i cant get to the homescreen...plzz help...urgent
See if u can do the 4 corner touch bypass (youtube if needed) then go into settings-accounts and sign into your Google account if needed. If all goes well try activating your phone from the dialer. I can't remember what thing to dial so see if u can locate a computer or someone else's phone and Google it

Hi everyone,
I've had an issue for a while now that i just realized was a problem. After seeing my girlfriends phone getting instant notifications for snapchat, Facebook, foursquare, and others, while i have to go into those apps to see if anything new has happened, i realize my phone is not working correctly.
I have the elegancia rom, on att, and as far as i can tell every setting in my phone is set to allow them.
Does anyone know why this would be happening? Or suggestions on how to fix or troubleshoot it?
This is very frustrating.

It is because your phone is in deep sleep to save battery when your screen is off. There is an app called "Push Notification Fixer" that solves the problem. I have used it for months, and it's great, it doesn't seem to affect battery life significantly
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5hbmRxbGltYXgucHVzaGZpeGVyIl0.
Would it be in deep sleep even if I'm using the phone? I mean, let's say I'm actively using my phone for an hour. And my friend snapchats me or posts on facebook during that time. i still won't get it unless i open the app.
I tried using push notification fixer for like a day and didn't notice a difference. Does it take time to take effect?
Would juice defender cause any issues with this? I use it daily on the lowest setting.
Also, does auto sync need to be enabled?

Alright, as of now, i have auto sync on. I disabled Juice Derfender, i checked and made sure background data is enabled on apps, checked to make sure notifications are enabled on apps, and also made sure restrict mobile data was unchecked. And i have Push Notifications Fixer installed and running.
Still no luck.
After talking with an htc tech guy. He pointed out that the notification settings are in the privacy menu.
On the elegancia rom there is no privacy menu option in the settings. Maybe this is why?
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda app-developers app
ist under Security menu
What setting is it? What should i be looking for? The only settings i have under security in regard to notifications are for the lock screen.

I also have this problem with facebook, no notifications at all Tried several methods, also from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2174391
Currently i have Paranoid Rom on my S3
Edit: Okay, now they are working...
What I have observed is that juice defender / dx battery booster etc do not disable all the settings properly when disabled. So it might be (a possibility) - that it has screwed up your settings.
I am also on Elegancia ROM. ofcourse I have autosync on as well as PNF installed. For me it takes hardly a gap of 2 seconds when I get a notification on my mobile & desktop....
May be you can try to uninstall juicedefender (Check if there is any setting to reset the changes or not before uninstalling).
And one advise - I am not sure about you, but I found all these battery saving apps useless
Hmmmm. Ok. Well, i just switched to the Venom rom and i am experiencing the same issue. I went ahead and uninstalled juice defender completely.
Is there a by lasting settings that could be messed up from it even after uninstalling it?
I'm really on my last nerve. My phone feels crippled and u can't figure out why...
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda app-developers app
Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't even know how to troubleshoot this issue any further... I'm really bummed out because i love this phone. I just wish it worked the way it is supposed to.
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda app-developers app
I fixed it! I still don't know exactly what the culprit was but i know it was some system setting that had gotten messed up. It kept following me from rom to rom because i used titanium backup to backup and restore system settings.
I ended up doing a fresh install of viper and installed snapchat first thing. I instantly got a push notification. I proceeded to install all the backups of my other apps and manually at all my phone settings again.
Thanks for all the help everyone!
