You need the latest radio.
Un7zip the files to your sd card. Should be a Class 6.
Boot windows and run Haret.exe. Up pops a penguin!
I stole all of this, so thanks belong elsewhere.
Also they need devs to bring this to a rom. If you can help you already know what to do.
Perhaps those of us that 'want', but cannot help can fund a bounty?
What works, what doesn't? Which build? Any screenshots?
just download the package and run haret, and see.
Everything works but camera for me. right now I am working on using this for voip. Very funny to have an unlimited cell for ~10$ a month, or less...
It's not a rom, you just copy it to your sd card and run it inside WinMo. It is so easy to see for yourself I didnt jazz up the post. reset and you boot into WinMo
Working pretty decent on my WM6.5 by Ryan Mogul ROM on Page Plus network (verizon). Calls/SMS/Browsing/youtube/keyboard (both hard and soft) all worked. A few times applications would hang momentarily, and a couple times I had to instruct android to "wait" or "force close" (wait always worked)
I will use it all weekend and see how if I am able to use it full time.
A couple of questions for anyone who can answer:
1) How do I check available RAM?
2) Is it possible switch back to WM 6.5 without turning the phone off?
3) How do you quit an application in Android? Is there any type of task manager?
Because a reader asked, android version is 1.5
Works very well, I have been running it all weekend. I switched out the zImage for one that has the screen rotation corrected. Disable the touch input and android keyboard input, hardware keyboard only works great with less FC's. Switched wallpaper to the grey image. GPS and Bluetooth work, but sadly still no camera or wifi. At least for me. Market also works very well.
I think we could be off to a great start!
Who has any camera or wifi experience with our hardware?
Hey now, give a link to the zimage fix! Better yet zip up your stuff and share it!
freenode has an #htc-Linux They might know about the hardware.
Here you go! I have also made a few changes to the defalut.txt and associated user.conf files.

hi jrgii
it mean u already repackage, and i just need to install the Android ion to my mogul.
COuld you share the screenshot please ?
thanks
Loaded this on my Sprint Mogul, looks good. Is there a list for defining which hardware keys preform what actions?
What is the button(s) to press to shutdown the phone?
I just tried this on my xv6800.. I can't get any ringtones to work on it. Camera does crash the phone. but it did sync my contacts and calander from work Only need to get ringtones working.. but i'm about ready to buy a droid..
.nbh file?
Is there a zImage (or preferably *.NBH) file for the Titan available anywhere?
Something analogous to the .NBH file described at item 6 of the first post of this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=636024
I want to try and use the process described in that post, but need a proper .nbh file (zImage) to do so.
Yes, I have used search, so pointers to a URL would be much appreciated.
I have a question for those of you who have tried it. My phone does not show notifications and Marketplace does not actually download anything on my phone. I can send SMS and look at emails, however, so I know the internet works. Anyone else having this problem? It runs very well despite these two things.

I read the first post. In fact, the entire thread.
The first post references files to load Android off SDCard, but no guidance on how to load Android off internal memory (i.e., REPLACING WinMo, per the link I referenced). Hence, my reference to the link (so that those who would read my question would click the link and understand what I am asking).
Although I appreciate the fact that you took the time to respond, I don't find myself after having read your response any closer to resolving my issue of trying to load Android onto Mogul internal memory (as they are now currently doing with the Vogue). Any guidance you could provide in that regard would be much appreciated.

There is a zImage in every bootable android package, Including the one in the first post. I do not believe there are any ROMs for the Titan at this point, although work is ongoing.
Exactly what every Titan user wants
Thanks to both LargePrime and jrgii for their prepacks for this phone.
I was very eager to try this out after searching quite a bit, and this made it rather straight forward.
I loaded jrgii's as he mentioned it corrected the screen flip issue. Only thing is that it is super slow and has no audio on my phone.
any suggestions on the sound? I have downloaded the overclocker to see if it helps the speed issue. (maybe its the memory card?)
I can't wait for wifi support. I imagine the data charge$ are not going to be nice using the android features without wifi.
ok, back to play around some more!
One last Q for those who want the rom version. why? As far as I understand (maybe naively) loading off of SD still bypasses winmo so that your resources are used solely on android os. Besides, with the current builds for this phone, you would then be left w/o the bt/wifi/cam features unless you reflash back again, whereas the sd method you can simply reboot.
I realize that I am the newbiest on here (have just been reading until now, and finally registered so I could post here to thank these guys) All I ask is, if you know any answers to help me and care to reply, I do greatly appreciate it.
Until then, I will keep searching and reading hopefully useful and not outdated info.
Thanks!
Did you try the package I found?
I downloaded it, but did not try running it, as one of your posts indicated the screen flip issue. I will give it a shot. thanks!
Also, do you overclock your htc as well? And if you do, what program do you use/ do you launch it from android or linux?
I'll let you know how I make out with your pack
First of all - sorry for posting it here, i don't mean to be in your face, it's just all discussions about this topic in other threads or posts went nowhere and i also think it didn't get enough attention from the developers. So, i just wanted to start a new thread dedicated to just this feature, since i believe this is one of the most useful features which is somehow got missed in these devices.
I'm talking about the ability to use GP5 to make calls though and answer calls from other devices through bluetooth. I think it's nuts that Samsung didn't implement this feature in these players, since most if not all top range mp3 and media players from this manufacturer in the last 5-6 years have had this feature (my pretty basic 4 year old samsung mp3 player can do this easily). Some people wonder why i care about this, but in my opinion it is a killer feature, which really opens up so many different possibilities to these devices. Tablets with 3g and 4g are reasonably cheap these days, so more and more people buy them. When you have one of them, you naturally think about a possibility of making calls through it. I'm one of such people, i have a 10" 3g tablet and i would like to be able to call through it using my GP5.
I participate in 5-6 different forums dedicated to these devices (mostly european sites) and i see requests and questions from people about this feature almost on daily basis. I think there are hundreds of people out there who would love to have it in their GPs. What i know is that the new GP 3.6 and 4.2 have it and the older ones 4.0 and 5.0 don't. So, i'm begging you, somebody, please make a ROM with this feature! I have no experience in programming for Android, but i think it should be very easy to take code or a library or whatever it is from one device and put it into another, since all these players have pretty much the same hardware (to my knowledge).
Thank you for your attention.
I you can link to a 3.6 or 4.2 rom that I can pull from (can be stock, custom or whatever), I can possibly integrate it into my next release, although I give no promises. Also, as this is development, and this is slightly off topic, I recommend that you change your post tags to [Discussion][4.0, 5.0 US+INTL]Enabling handsfree calling, so that people understand that this is a discussion, not some random person begging for a feature.
Thanks for your reply, i'll have a look for such rom.
Ok, i've changed the tags of this thread. Thanks.
Thanks! I also meant the tags in the thread name, not the actual thread tags. I never use them, so I forgot .
Right, that's what i thought at first, but i see no way to change the name of the thread, unfortunately.

great, thanks for the tip, done.
Thanks for the link! I will try and play around with some of the stuff included and see if I can come up with something. It may be just as simple as installing an apk...
Or maybe swapping bt libs would be all it takes.

oh, sweet, i'm all itching in anticipation! thanks mate!
this means the phone features also needs to be activated because it goes hand in hand im not a dev but im sure its more than installing an apk. i think this will also require some framework changes. also activating the sip calling feature will be very exciting as our SGP can sync contacts as well this can be done in galaxy note by just adb pushing some files to system dir and activating the hands free profile in htc flyer is as simple as editing the build.prop so im sure this is doable but we need to call in the attention of devs :good:
Bad news guys, the uncompiled image didn't help, and I was unable to open the .img that I pulled from a 3.6 rom. Could someone pull their entire /system directory (apply this terminal command: dd if=/dev/block/systemname of=/sdcard/factoryfs.rfs), and then pull it off their sdcard (internal) and upload it here (tar or zip it if you need to). I do not believe root is required for that, and I am able to access .rfs files to edit them. You can find the name of your system partition by punching in "mount" in the terminal and then finding /system in the output, and recording the partition name that follows (eg. my system partition on my 4.0 is /dev/block/stl9).
I was tinkering with my sgp amd found this if this might be of any help

Ok, I've just sent an email to Mars11_, who's recently offered his help with extracting files from his SGP 3.6 in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28558588#post28558588
I asked him to come here and follow your instructions. He's our only hope right now.
Got responce from Mars11_ that's what he said: "Okay, so I've run the commands Hanthesolo had, but I didn't have read access to /dev/block/mmcblk0p8 . So I need root, and second, I can't post in the Android Dev yet, as I don't have 10 or more posts. "
Well, hat pretty much means that I can't pull anything together untilthe 3.6 gets root (I guess I could create a guide for that, but I don't have a 3.6, and I cannot exract anything from it's .img images). Sorry about that, but as soon as a /systm dump is uploaded, I will get on it. A last ditch attempt may be to use adb, but I think that you must have root to get su access from it as well. Perhaps you can boot into stock recovery and adb push the superuser binary and apk, that is, if the stock recovery supports adb, as I believe /system is mounted as rw in recovery. Perhaps a signed update.zip that only has superuser? I dunno, just some theories for 3.6 devs.
Mate, you have absolutely nothing to appologise for, you've done everything you could. I'm grateful for you desire to work on this. I guess we'll just have to be patient and wait for the 3.6 to be rooted Thank you.
Well, thanks for giving me a project to work on, because my sumer has just about fizzled out! I look forward to working on this while I wait for my Nexus 7 to arrive, and with it some more time-consuming hobbies .

You can always try the korean system dump and see what it gives.
Hi, Wizards:
I have a Galaxy Tab GT-P1000 running Overcome 3.3.1. On occasion, when all else seems quiet, the device will suddenly decide to play the /system/media/audio/notifications/12_Tweeters.ogg sound file (sounds something like a bird chirp), and I would like to find the application that causes this sound file to be played. I ran the Log Collector app (v1.1.0) and poured through its output, and that is how I determined which file is being played,
In the latest instance, the log shows:
09-06 08:40:24.230 I/MediaPlayer( 306): The actual path is:/system/media/audio/notifications/12_Tweeters.ogg.
Before that, I can see references to (306) like "KeyguardViewMediator" in the same second. In fact, there are hundreds of references to 306 within parentheses in the log, mostly involving Sensors and PowerManagerService BatteryService. But I don't see a way to trace back to the originator. (Frankly, I also don't have any indication that the '306' is important.)
How would I go about finding the reason that MediaPlayer was kicked off in the first place? (My goal is to find the application that suddenly decides to play this sound file, and to understand why it does so. After all, I'm being notified of something, right? Wouldn't it be swell to understand the reason for the notification, instead of just "Hey!" ?)
I've searched for general information on how to figure out what the Log is trying to tell me, but to no avail for something like this. Is there enough information in the typical Log Collector output to determine this information? If so, where can I read up on how to trace this? If not, then what might I do to trap/identify this?
I appreciate any pointers you may have on this.

Log Collector should give you enough information to solve the problem. I suppose one simple and quick solution you could try is go into /system/media/audio/notifications/12_Tweeters.ogg and just delete the file. If you delete the file, then when it wants to play that sound it won't be able to because it doesn't exist, and then it shouldn't bother you anymore.

That's encouraging. Sorry I wasn't clear. Where might I find out how to read the log in such a way?

Hmmm... to me, that sounds like "If the fire alarm bothers you, just remove the battery." I do appreciate your reply, but that doesn't that sound to me like a good idea since I don't know the cause... I do welcome advice regarding figuring out that cause.
I had a problem with audios starting to play randomly. Googling led to many possible causes.
The only one I remember is the fix that worked for me - simply installing and running once a program available free from the market called DisableAutoPlay.
It disables the feature where plugging headphones in causes auto-playing. Mind you I wasn't doing anything with headphones when my music started randomly, but apparently there can be some intermittent hardware malfunction that makes the phone think you are plugging headphones in (perhaps limited to Samsung phones like mine IIRC... I have an Infuse).

Thanks. I will keep that in mind if the time comes that I need to take such action.
I'm sorry I'm apparently expressing my intent so poorly. My goal, to be clear, is to find out WHY the alarm is sounding, not to prevent it. (I reserve the right to want to prevent it in the future, but right now the point remains.)
I will try to track down the author(s) of Log Collector and see where that leads me. If I find out anything useful, I will post back here.

Hello.
I am running stock ICS 4.0.4, and would like to change my phone's operator text to my own, custom text (for example, change "T-Mobile" to "BagelDog"). I have already tried an app named "Carrier Name" which did not work. Has anyone successfully achieved this result on their I777 and can share the solution?
Thanks.
Without root at the very least that'd probably not be achievable .
My phone is rooted.
Oh well then you can definitely do it. May have to get a little technical if you don't want a simple app fix though.
Technical is fine, I'm no stranger to it. Could you provide the steps, please?

First, you must discover where the text you want to change is located. I'd guess it's somewhere in the framework, maybe in system ui, but I don't really know. Then you need to learn how to edit that file or collection so that you can change the text. It may require decompiling and recompiling something, depending on where it is. Sounds like you have some study time ahead of you. These would be the first steps in becoming an android developer. If it sparks your interest, you might go down that path.
Happy hunting.
Hi
I'm hoping I am posting in the right place.
I have an apk game for my little boy. It has a bug that needs fixing. The company behind it no longer exists.
It's a simple hidden object game and 9 out of 10 levels work, so I would hope comparing them would show what's different about the level that hangs.
Is it possible to employ an apk expert to have a look at the apk to fix the fault so my boy could have the game fixed please?
Please let me know how to go about it thanks.

Just to add to avoid confusion, I am expecting to pay for the services employed.
Also, all the artwork and such is within the apk, the stuck level just hangs as it is supposed to open, so I think it should just be a bit of code line wrong or something as all the components are there, so I dont expect this is a mammoth issue, but I need somebody who knows apk coding to be able to do it please. I have the apk available for emailing.
Please help
PLease, havent had anything yet. Can anyone help, or do you know another place I could go for this type of help please?
Thanks
