There is a great feature called wifi direct on the tab10.1 and sgs2.
sgs2 camera is fantastic, but it has a small screen, i rather view the pics on my big 10.1 tab,
after snapping tons of pics, i like to transfer them to the tab via "wifi direct", the transfer speed is about 1 or 2 MBps, way way faster compared to the approximately 200kBps by bluetooth.
i'm using the overcome 2.2 rom. it was working find all this while.
but today, everything that i try to send failed.
after the pairing is completed, and i tap "receive incoming file" on my tab,
a notification instantly pop out and say file receive failed.
i tried rebooting both my device but with no luck.
please please help me.

Been having this problem awhile. To get MMS to go through, I have to get my message ready, with attachment attached, Turn off WIFI, and soon at the H Icon apperars I hit send, And it goes through in 3 seconds every time. If I leave WIFI on, it will go through, but could take up to 3 hours to send and then it's hit or miss, might go through, might fail. It's been this way with every ROM I've tried. I use strictly Cognition, but have flash other ROMS to see if it made a difference, and it did not.
I have tried it both ways with fast dormancy on and off, I've tried several APN settings, I've tried different settings with the build prop that pertain to AT&Ts network settings, and nothing works, Guess I'm stuck doing it the hard way. Extra 5 seconds won't be to big of a deal since i can toggle WiFi from the pull down. Suggestions are welcome
yeah same happens here, think 3g gets turned off when wifi is on but you cant send mms thru wifi
Same thing here. Tried sending an MMS when i had wi-fi on and after 2 hours it was still pending. I cancelled it, didn't try again with wi-fi off. Guess i'll make a test to see. I'm on stock KE5 no root.
I've never experienced this - MMS sends for me just fine when I'm on wi-fi. However, I have taken to splitting my APNs - one for internet and one for MMS. This way I can disable 3g/HSPA with an app if I want to, but still send and receive MMS. That may end up helping, as it should use the MMS APN with no issues when you're on wi-fi.
I think it is normal. If I connect to a wifi router to browse and it is not connected externally to the internet, I get no connection. If your wifi is on, it will use it, even if it's dead.

I've been struggling with the same problem and I think I have the solution. I uninstalled Juice Defender which messes with my WIFI/3G connection. Once I uninstalled it - everything worked.
A MMS needs a Network/Carrier APN to get sent, why should WiFi be bothering it? !!
I agree but do you think it is a coincidence now that I have uninstalled Juice Defender? I also shrunk my maximum MMS size down which helped (but still didn't work until after Juice Defender was gone)
I still have problems with my photos being sent upside down or flipped 90 degrees ut I hear that has something to do with the way Samsung saves the meta data for photos.
Regardless, MMS should really be a straightforward phone function.
Hi all,
Got my hands on a mad today - loving it!
Small issue. On startup, and every hour or so, it has this popup error message
Trouble is, I'm still connected - I'm generally in the middle of browsing or streaming when it comes on the screen.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

how strong is your wifi signal , is it your home wifi or a public wifi ?
WiFi has full bars - it's my home connection, and the router is less than 4m away.
Down the other end of the house (20+ meters) I still get 1-2/3 strength.
Whenever it pops up I'm actually still connected to the internet though, so it's almost like a false popup.

You could monitor your internet and see if this alert is valid... download something huge on the computer and if you notice the download being consistent then it can be confirmed as a false pop-up. I do get this few times and i believe it happens because at that moment the internet is not connected.
I have had problems in HTC One X which was fully connected to WiFi and does load anything while the computer next to it works. I managed to capture a video of that weird behavior next to another phone and sent it to HTC and HTC had no other option other than to replaced my phone.
I have a DSL 512 kbps plan. I get an average speed of 62 KB/s on my home PC. I also have a home router.
My galaxy S2 has android 4.1.2 stock JELLYBEAN. I had been using my wifi for approximately 1 month with no issue, the speed was normal.
But from the past few weeks, i had noticed that the application on my phone are taking very long to connect to the internet. Eg. Youtube loades video in 5 mins, a background wallpapers application takes very long to load pictures, Compared to previous state when videos started in seconds, and loaded pics with a blink...
Signal Strength is Excellent... I tested my speed using speedtest application.. and it was normal around 60 KB/s...
I test my wifi on my friend's mobile, and it was normal. Youtube videos started in seconds, webpages showed without any loading....
I don't think there's a problem with my ISP or router.
Please HELP !!
First try another wifi connection, and see if speeds are low there too.
It's still the same.
@ immortalneo
Have you tried a factory reset? Does that make a difference?
And try downloading a file to see if your download speed is low. If not, then the issue could be app related.

On speedtest.net (and app) I get 5mbp/s download, my connection to the router is 54Mbp/s. So my internet is good for my phone, it isn't ultra fast, but it loads large pages within 10 sec.
If yours is 60kbp/s, it is super slow. You should pay more to get more speed. (in case if you mean your home wifi)
Still the same
@ immortalneo.
Yes, I've tried the factory reset. Still the same. I'll try to flash my stock ROM and then tell you.
And how could the problem be app related..?
@GreekBlood
Sir, it not a question about my internet connection. When my WiFi was working fine, I didn't have to wait for apps to connect to the internet.
My gmail app showed my mails at a go. YouTube took few seconds to start a video. But now, the apps are taking a hell lot of time to open.
Although they open, but after loading, loading and loading....... Google play opened within second, but now it takes very much time to load, and then show the menu apps.

It could be overloaded connections or your provider has a bad day/week/month etc.
Hi all,
Posted this morning re sending emails using stock email over WiFi (sits in outbox, switch to 4g sends instantly) but now thinking something to do with actual phone.
Received some pics on WhatsApp & over WiFi took an eternity to load, forwarded one to OH took ages to send. She sends one to me on her phone over WiFi it's instant - so not a problem with WiFi.
Similarly, videos don't load over WiFi buffering/loading circle then plays in bits. Again switch to 4g it plays instantly.
I've tried all these on OH's phone they all work fine on same home WiFi so it's gotta be my phone
Pages take ages to load, the vowifi icon hardly appears, it all points to handset network issues just unsure on best steps to fix?
Sorry long post, any ideas?
TIA
Hi All I have the Mate 20 Pro and absolutely loving it apart from the below problem.
WiFi keeps dropping out. It's definitely nothing to do with the wireless router as all other devices working perfectly and my previous SAMSUNG S7 never had any issues they only started when I got this new phone.
Unfortunately its causing serious issues for me as I can't get data connection downstairs and rely on WiFi.
I've read others have problems and apparently Hawai cut corners with the WiFi and put a poor quality device inside?
Is there anything that can be done or is this definitely a hardware problem and something I just have to live with I. E. Not being able to use it on WiFi?
It shows full bars on the WiFi status symbol top left but will connect one minute and the next minute can't even load a new page, Facebook comments, or will just pause and start spinning on a video.
Bump!! Same problems! My Galaxy S7 and S8 always worked flawless with notifications and internet connection switching between wifi and 4G. Mate 20 pro drops out. Now also remembering my old Ascend Mate 7 did the same. Huawei problem, but is there a solution?
I have tried various settings in the wireless and developer settings no luck. I cant seem to find the usual android settings to keep wifi on always...
Did you guys check under Settings/Battery/More battery Settings if "Stay connected when device sleeps" is ON?
Pretty stupid to hide it there (Samsung had it in the right place under WiFi settings) but whatever.
My Wifi NEVER disconnects at home or work and I DO get emails even if the app is set to pull every 30 min (so it wakes up properly and pulls data). Plus unlike my old S7Edge, WiFi reported power drain is always below 1%...so negligible.
I've noticed Youtube keeps losing connection when using Chromecast
