So the DROID xyboard system dump has some files that I think may be MOTOCAST for tablets. I've tried various methods to deodex it but to no avail. I'm sure I'm missing something but im just not sure what and I really just want to test this app out. Anyone interested in lending a helping hand and deodexing it for me? Thanks in advance for any help!

Any luck getting the app deodexed? For tablets, that is the best remote streaming app there is on the market. The service is amazing, i just dont get why other people dont use it on their tablet. Probably cuz they are not aware of it...
THanks,
Bruce
PS - is there a way we could put out a paid bounty on this apk? Like Id seriously pay $20 for this...

For the record, you XDA folk are amazing.
Are there folks out there by region that would help other folks such as myself (for appropriate fee, Starbucks menu-configuration) who are complete NOOB IDIOTS that would upgrade (change ROM) on our machines for us, or in the alternative, or show us how.
Info would be good to know and you guys good at same could make some....coffee money. Region of interest to me: central california.
Bless you for what you do.
Question: If I upgrade to a better ROM than out of the box, will I be able to use Adroid Market and do most normal things that an Android can do????
Thanks again. You guys that submerge yourself into this stuff are superheros!
Look in my signature. Yes, all custom roms have full market access.
Couldn't be happier

Im using: Calkulin+Clemsyn 1.5ghz Froyo Combo V6 BL1.2, from goodintentions website. Working great!
I'd give it a shot...
Dont forget to donate to goodintentions.
I did...
Honestly if you have an hour or two to read through the numerous walkthroughs that are out there for the G-tablet you will be fine. These are very forgiving, and even if you do mess something up, chances are more than likely you will be able to recover it. I would suggest not only reading up on how to root/flash a new rom, but read through and prepare to do an NVflash, so if/when your device sticks at the 3 little birds, you wont have to worry and can be happy (bob marley).

I am looking for someone to modify a Motorola FM Radio app to work with the Motorola Droid if that is possible. I am pretty sure the hardware is there. By the way I am not rooted... Thanks guys I know that a lot of people would appreciate it if you can do it. Good Luck! I also want to learn how I can modify apps myself. If someone could teach me or point me in the right direction that would be great. Thanks!
Hey all!!!
Just want you all to know I am back and ready to go. I plan on working on this device a lot more now that I’m happy with what progress is being made on my other 3 devices, along with the fact that I am no longer on vacation. I wanted to give you guys an outlook on what I am looking on working on over the next couple of weeks:
Working on getting to inject new kernels using hkvc’s method
Finding new ways to restore 1.4.0
Updating NARS
Building a rom to try to inject using the 2ndinit.
Automating a lot of things for you users whom just want to use the market place.
A Secret Project with AdamOutler (hopefully, DO NOT ASK WHAT IT IS)
I also wanted to thank hkvc for all of his work and Dean for all of his work through the last couple of weeks, you guys have done some amazing work.
I will be in IRC working with the devs to get these things running along with answering any of your questions.
Keep up the good work.
Looking forward to seeing what you guys accomplish.
Nexus S 4G 4.0.3

Yay Looking forward to hearing how that fares
I really hope you guys have success with 2nd Init. I just read about the UART hardware mod hack, but I really don't want to try to solder.
Hey, welcome back! We missed you
sound promising, guys. Keep up the great jobs!
Sure is nice to have users that are smarter than me What you guys need to develop is a "FIREWALL" to keep B&N from getting on a device we paid money for and should be able to do what we want with it.
Welcome Back! I am glad to see that you have restoring back to 1.4.0 on your bucket list! I really need some help here.
Thanks for all you do!!
Is there any Dev here who can port this over to the Amaze?
Check out the video!

It is kinda cool looking, but the current stock ICS lockscreen is just as functional - as far as I can tell this would just be for looks.. I mean you get music controls on the lockscreen with the cm music.apk..
I do want to share this little laugh for me, after doing some reading I eventually ended up at this post which uses lmgtfy.com to explain someone's noobyness.. if you don't know what that is you should click this http://lmgtfy.com/?q=how+to+use+diff+patch it is a nicer way of dealing with noobs I used to use it ALL the time..
I will say, if anyone wants this, it would have to be done for EACH rom - but anyone can do it, it isn't hard to learn how to decompile, and the instructions for the patch are pretty straight forward(hint, anyone can learn how to develop or at least contribute something, there are many things with low degrees of difficulty(like this!))
If anyone REALLY likes this, I challenge you to give it a shot to see if you can do it, and maybe give something back to the community!

Well, if you were willing to give it a try, you think you can do it, and you'd be willing to put out a product for the community- I'd be willing to give you pointers if you have issues I can help with, share resources that might help you out..
I'm assuming you have adb fully installed?(Android sdk installed?) Smali and baksmali-1.3.2?(those are for compiling/decompiling) Know how to sign an apk?
A lot of the above can be done thru dsixda's kitchen(easy to find in the development forums) - with the things above and a little reading/tinkering with the instructions in the original thread you posted(basically applying patch, then re-compiling or repacking), you could potentially have something working pretty easily getting it to the point where you can share it for others to use could be harder than doing it itself, but I can definitely help if you get that far. Just make a nandroid before you tinker! Lol.
If you get into the process and get a little stumped on something, send me a pm and I'll help if I can - I'm always willing to help those who are willing to help themselves
Hi folks.
I came on this forum a while back to get my Bell Galaxy Note 717 returned to its former operating condition after Samsung buggered it up by putting ICS on it. I received a load of help and encouragement from some GREAT folks (who are a heck of a lot cleverer than me) and got my lovely phone back to where it was. Now, in those immortal words, "I'm back!"
At the end of the previous discussion, a couple suggested that — now I'd lost my phone-flashing virginity — I might want to try some custom ROMs and stuff like that. Whilst I very much appreciate their enthusiasm, I'm afraid that I really am just one small degree ahead of absolute noob and therefore I don't want to delve too deep into this stuff. However! I am quite interested in rooting the phone so that I can install and use Titanium Backup. So this is what I'm hunting for, please and thank you:
A copy of the ClockworkMod thing so that I can do the root.
The actual root file itself so I can install it with Odin (I believe it's called 'superuser' or something).
Any help you good folks would be willing to offer.
Just a small point, if I may; I DEFINITELY DO NOT WANT ICS or another newer Android version. I'm very happy with Gingerbread and I'm staying with it. Stat. I respectfully request that you don't try to convince me otherwise, unless you want me to believe that you're a twit. You will doubtless, in return, call me a Luddite and I will not disagree. Card-carrying, fee-paying, life-membership Luddite!!
Anyway, there we go, that's it for now. I'm looking forward to all the flashing and rooting and stuff! Yeah! Thanks in anticipation of your kind replies.
Cheers,
Sandy B.

Thank you so much for your help, I appreciate that. Not sure I can find the appropriate files there, but I grabbed a couple and I'll figure it out later (hopefully with some more help from the awesome folks here).
Cheers,

Thanks! I really appreciate your willingness to help. Could definitely happen, because I'm always uncertain of stuff like this. I'm, honestly, not that great with computers and similar technical bananas.
