[Q]Is there a way? - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

Is there a way to make the status bar zoom out when opening an app on custom roms/CM7?? I saw someone who can have his status bar zoom out when opening an app and then zoom in back when in the app(eg. ES file explorer). So is there a way?

I believe that its the app that has this setting. I have not been able to do this with my phone and ROM.. so I don't that there is anything flashable for this. I might be wrong, though...

I know i have done it before with cm7.1 but i want it on stock.

Not possible. Your phone has to be rooted for these can of enhancements as there are changes made to the /system folder.

/system/framework/framework-res.apk deleted all ..zoom.. pics but i get browser FC and the zooms still show up in maps.
what file calls them? is it in browser.apk/.odex?
You need a deodexed Rom.. editing the framework-res is just the images... you will need to decompile the apk

If you don't touch the screen for 5 seconds or so they go away. Maybe search for that time etc and just make it much shorter?

Browser
Hey guys, I have a friend with an IPhone4 and he was bragging about how when he zooms in on a web browser the pictures actually adjust and you can see them in "hd/with clarity". I pinch zoom and the letters adjust but the pictures and clip art stay kind of distorded. How do I fix that? Thanks.

Touchwiz Screenshot Widget

Is it possible to remove the screenshot button from the TW tray? At the very least, could you make it ask for confirmation before saving the image?

I would really like to know the answer to this too. Have you had any luck?
you can freeze the app in titanium backup and black out the image for it in systemui.apk
Could also rename the .apk to .bak using root explorer

If I was to change the icon of an app manually, would the app icon change back upon update of said app or do only the files that are newer get changed in the app? Hence technically the app icon, once changed will remain that way permanently?
Also, is there an easier way than using an apk editing tool to edit the app icons?

So basically you ressurected a dead thread because you don't pay attention to all these flashable mod zips or ask the devs behind the mods. Ppl edit the apks, repack the apks, and flash it to their device via cwm, and see the change that they made.
Download from source and edit prior to packing the apk?

Honeybar or HideBar. I currently use Honeybar for fullscreen movies.

Honeybar is root required and hidebar's not working...
Any other suggestions?

Right. I assume you're not rooted, then? If not, there isn't anything available.

Status Bar Icons

Using Rom Toolbox with the galaxy s2 my choices of icons are limited. Because of that, I want to know if anyone has figured out how to replace the 5 Signal bar icon and ( rom toolbox only has 4 bars) the sound icon with a slash, the H+ icon, 3g icon and Edge icon. Even though rom toolbox has a 3g one it doesn't replace the default one. Also, anyways to get a differnt signal bar color?

For the signal bar u can go onto uot kitchen and mess with it. U can also get apk tool and decompile systemUI.apk, and go into drawable-hdpi and the icons will be there, and u can edit them using a photo editor like gimp.

Thanks, does anyone know the specific names of the icons cause there's a lot of them.

Look at the how-to section. You'll have to spend time navigating, learning the site, and how to use it. UOT kitchen is as easy as it's going to get. It's really simple once you get a feel for it. Otherwise, you can replace the icons manually. Again, seemingly much at first, but really simple after some time. In my signature, I have linked a post I made about making these changes. At first glance, you might want to run away, but it gives STEP BY STEP instructions.
K, I will. Also does anyone have the default at&t gs2 status bar icons? I backedup my statusbar when it was modded by accident

Did everthing and did not get the stock vibrate icon or wifi signal back.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777
vibrate icon as well as the wifi signal are located in systemUI.apk not framework-res.apk, so changing the framework-res file will not fix your problem
Where can I locate the system.apk?
