first version optimus one that is shipped with version 2.2 from factory
and second version is optimus one that are shipped 2.3 from factory?
Assumption no 2:
and the rom from "second version" will cause GSM and EDGE data will not work in "first version"?
GSM has been fixed with the patch from mik
Edge data has not been fixed yet
Assumption no 3:
how about 3G or HSDPA? will it work if I use 2.3 official rom in my 2.2 optimus one?
are all the assumptions above correct?

No, it will not work if you install 2.2 stock ROM on 2.3 baseband and it will not work if you install 2.3 stock ROM on 2.2 baseband.

i think you are tryng to say, if you upgrade your phone 2.2 to 2.3 using the way here on forum, like kdz or russian way then yes 3g will worl like is working for me if you want to put 2.3 zip over 2.2 then is just like dorknotor said....
i only write this because i stay in doubt about what you are asking in question 3..

I am having LG G2X rooted with Super One Click. How can I upgrade to 2.3 Gingerbread. I tried to manually update from LG’s Mobile Support site but failed. I think the reason is my phone is rooted not original, right?

Okay, I have baseband "V07u Mar-23-2009" But people keep talking about "v10" and "v20" so I have no idea what baseband I'm on, I've previously flashed sonygenmod and CM7 from Mik_OS on here with no issues...
So, am I on the new or old baseband... if I'm on the old, should I upgrade to the new one?
you are on old baseband v10, if you want to use official gingerbread 2.3.3 or lupohirps ics etc then flash new baseband.
(baseband will be mentioned in rom thread)

what wud the "baseband version" be displayed in settings once we flash new baseband??
as with old BB it displays--->V07u Mar-23-2009
with new BB-------> ???
No matter if you are on new or old baseband, that field will always display the same text.
If your last stock ROM was a Froyo one (v10x), then you're on old baseband. If your last stock ROM was a Gingerbread one (v20x), then you're on new baseband. That simple.
But, since you were running the mik_os port just fine, then for sure you're on old baseband.
