having friends who are deaf i understand the video concept. also take a look at the infuse on att I hear the videos pretty good and the battery life good also but I do love the streak and the video OK but can be choppy.

to be honest with you I wouldn't recommend it if your mainly going to video chat. yes the apps are there to do so but the front facing camera on the streak is very dark. I've tested it out in medium light conditions with other devices side by side and you can barely see your face from the streak as opposed to other the other one.
my little brother is considering the infuse 4g and will probably get it this week. if your still in the market I'll take a side by side pic of both during a video chat so you can see what i'm talking about.

Its is one of the most powerful android phones available currently, top 5.
Please attempt to do some research in the future, before posting such a blatant question
i never did get this why in the world do you want a 1080p video on a 5 inch screen. the only reason i can logically see is if you already had 1080p videos encoded.

U are absolutely right. Bragging rights, in combination that the large majority want the latest and greatest and don't fully understand how it works
thanks for clearing things up,
before asking these blatant questions,
i have done a good amount of reseach
and i was getting different answers,
i probably will never ever watch 1080p on the 5 inch screen but my quetion was meant to find out what it could do rather than what i will do with it.
thanks for the answers everyone, and sorry for making my intention to be unclear at first.

[Q] Concern: My iPad 1 renders .docs, .ppt, and .pdfs faster than my Android devices

My iPad 1 renders docs, ppts, and pdfs faster and smoother than my Nexus 7. I find it odd since my Android devices contain faster hardware. Does anyone know why that is the case?

Nope, according to forum posts and reviews by people using both platforms the nexus 7 is as good as ipad 3 reading them yet alone as ipad so if you're seeing a large difference I could only suggest trying different viewing apps in case they are the cause.

You asked:
Does anyone know why that is the case?
And he replied, "nope". The stuff following that was him telling you that its out of the ordinary based on anecdotal evidence, so it doesn't make sense/he doesn't know why yours would be doing that.
Have you tried Adobe Reader for your pdfs? I don't have issue with quickoffice pro on my JB Kindle Fire on anything.

How about you try calming down? I didn't call you a liar, I said no I don't know the answer to your question.
I use a couple of paid apps for documents so as regards free versions I can't say which are best.

He says he doesn't have issue with quick office pro, but i do because i use it. maybe you can figure out what my issue is once you learn to read. Compared to even ipad 1, rendering said files on android is laggy. Why you do insist on accepting **** performance when the hardware is more than capable? There is no excuse for it.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Try this and you will understand why:
Open androidcentral.com(or another site with a lots of text and images) on your ipad and your android device. When site is loading pinch page in bothdevices, you will see that ipads web page is not rendering new loaded stuff but android device will be update page every second you keep pinching without stopping. Thats the reason of why 700mhz single core iphone 4 is smoother than our quad core beasts. Whenever an iOS devices detects touch, it stops other processes and focuses all attention to rendering the UI. Android devices don’t do this, instead general processing and UI rendering occurs concurrently which results in choppy UI.

Yeah, he definitely is. If you look at his old posts they are all about how Tegra 3 plays games with lots of lag.
And the N7 is Tegra 3. No coincidence. He is obviously trying to find ways to insult it... wtf.

There's a few posts from users of both ipad and n7 at http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2261233&page=2 that discuss nexus 7 rendering better than ipad 3 and they mention a few apps they use.
Might be of help to op finding apps that work better.

Yes, and the "anecdotal evidence" from other posters in the same thread agree. Once you learn how to read it will be apparent. I will post my comparison video shortly.

This is a comparison of power point rendering ability of the Nexus 7 using Quick Office Pro vs iPad 1 stock power point viewer. Don't be so quick to call someone a troll or you'll be humiliated.

Well I think you made your point there, and having just read your posts about tegra 3 (to see why you're being called a troll) it was pretty clear you were on about one specific developers titles so to be fair I don't think that qualifies you or anyone as a troll. Unless I read it wrong you were actually saying tegra 3 was good but the games from that developer were poorly coded for it.
But I'm going off topic there, sorry. Is the document a free one that can be downloaded?
If so I can try a few viewing apps out on it and find best one as I'm not having issues like that on my phone so if I could get it playing smooth it should be ok for you too were you to try the same software as my phone only has 100 mb free ram usually and you have more plus a better cpu and gpu.

That was a power point on Diabetes for a lecture. I can't pass it around, but I found that all power points are rendered in the same manner using various readers on Android; laggy

Internet browser comparison?

Has anyone seen a video comparison of browsing the internet, and pulling up different url's? I tested in store and didn't seem very fast to pull up different web pages and why does IE struggle with the redbox website? I want to switch back to windows but i browse the net often and want to be sure this phone is going to satisfy me for 2 yrs. Anyone have a link to a video so i can get a better idea of how well browsing is? I've looked on YouTube and haven't ran across anything yet. My time in the ATT store was short due to others waiting to check out the phone

Browsing is excellent and the speed is on a par with Android and iOS browsers. Are you sure you had a descent connection in the store?
No, perhaps the connection was not LTE too. I'm gonna go back tonight and look things over more closely.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
We do not have LTE up here in Maine so my comparison is a little different,
However the browsing experience on the Lumia/IE has been by far the fastest mobile browsing experience I have had with any smart phone. I tried countless browsers throughout many different Android phones and different flavors of Android. Many of them were quite smooth and quick, but this experience has been even better. I expected the opposite so it was quite the happy surprise.
I like the speed of IE, but I am extremely annoyed at MS. They absolutely refuse to allow a true 3rd party browser. Having used Dolphin HD browser for Android, that is everything a browser should be, and truly shows that sometimes, a srd party Dev can just do it better.

Yea I've used that browser on my skyrocket, but i really like boat browser. Its flat out fast and it just pulls up pages in a split second. Hopefully the devs will be able to eventually give us more variety. I'm taking the wife today to go check out the phone, but she wants the yellow one.

HBO GO on the HTC One?

How is the HBO's streaming service on your HTC One? For some reason or another, the highest streaming quality I can attain is 480p. Why is this? My Internet is strong, my brother's iPhone outputs 720p, yet I'm stuck with poorer quality.
Can anyone else who has HBO GO comment on the streaming quality on their device? I'd to really like to know if it's an isolated issue or widespread.

Good question. I'm not sure but the quality is downright poor. It's odd because other apps like Hulu stream in HD fine.

Not that it matters for as I cant even login to HBO Go, MAX GO works just fine....wth
Mine seems ok as u can see from the screen shot I tried to get here...but it can get blocky at times I noticed...but for the most part it's fairly clear....if u look at the app page in play store seems like there are a lot of complaints about how the app is bad lately....maybe there's something wrong in general....
