Yep, all was well for 22 days. No glitches on updates, WIFI was not exceptional but on par with my Droid X, GPS worked pretty good. Tiny little bit of light bleed under the virtual home and menu buttons area, but nothing that was bothersome. But, that all changed tonight when I noticed a big light bleed at the top and then I noticed the screen separating from the top of tablet for a good 3 inches or so. The tablet shipped on the 27th and I got it on the 4th. So, I called Best Buy and they said the 30 day return window would begin on the 4th. So I get to go return this thing tomorrow and hope the store agrees to the return window. I know this could be a fluke, but I am really leary of getting another Prime now.
Edit...really tired... I meant 25 days.....
lucky for you you're a best buy rewards zone member. normal return policy is 14 days.

Wow I finally got my third one last week and it seems fine right now. I hope that doesn't happen to me. Such a great tablet when it works.
Well, I don't know what will happen. I am a reward zone member. It is past the 14 days, but at 25 days the screen starts to seperate from the back and now is almost seperated all the way across the top with the glass actually bent slightly as if 3/4 of the glue did not hold. I have never dropped it, always keep in the case when not in use, and no one else has touched thing.
I noticed it last night as I finished up a session of GTA 3 when the screen had a big light bleed at the top all of sudden. As I went to investigate, I heard the screen creak, then I see the gap. I called Best Buy and they said I could take it back to a store today and get another....I have my doubts...but it's worth a shot.
I don't want to RMA it as I have not heard good things about the process and I sure as hell don't want a repaired tablet either. I think they need to replace it. But, I have a sinking feeling that I will be mailing the thing to a service center today. I taken all kinds of pictures of it.
Has anyone who sent theirs in and had to pay the postage, gotten the postage refunded it if turned out to be a product defect? I think paying for postage for a defective product it bull****. That's like buying a car, having the door or wheel fall of a month later and then having to pay the towing bill. I can understand paying upfront, but I think you should get reimbursed if the issue is due to a product defect.
Can you post a picture of where the screen is "separating"? Mine is doing that too but it's only at a very sharp angle I even notice. Like 170* angle

No sharp angles needed here.
Best Buy shot me down as I figured...so now I get to send it Texas. Hope they don't smash mine like they did that other guy. I did get them to give me prepaid shipping.

I have this same problem not as extream as the OP but its there i can feel the screen depress back into place when i put my finger on the spot. I talked to support they are going to ship it out and fix it (got them to pay). Not sure if it will ever get worse but i'd rather take care of it before it gets as bad as the OP. I am sending mine out next friday. I hope i have better experience then that one guy. I took plenty of pics with dates and stuff so hopefully in the event of any problem i'm covered.
Yeah, I obviously took pics too after seeing the smashed prime thread. I just don't get it either....one minute its fine, and then boom, it's seperating. No gradual seperating, just all of a sudden.
Could it be that the battery inside is bulging up/expanding which is causing the two halves to seperate?

That's exactly what I was thinking when I look at the pictures, weirf it would seperate in the middle and not an edge.

Well, you may be right, but since I am trying to get it fixed and not void the warranty, I'm not going to investigate it too much by trying to get better view inside. I never noticed it being hot during use or charging though. Though I will say the batter did start declining much more rapidly the last couple of days.
Do you not have any consumer protection laws in your country? In the UK, this would be the store's issue to fix.

Not so in the US. Best Buy washes their hands of tablet issues after 14 days. Then you have to the manufacturer. Some retailers have different policies but this is pretty much the norm. I am hopeful ASUS will replace the whole tablet. I don't have warm fuzzies about a repaired unit, but we will have to see. I will be sending it off in about an hour. Shame, because I really liked using it.
Holy crap dude! Mine isn't anywhere near that bad! In fact, mine is on the underside of the screen!! Wow, I'd be pissed if mine was doing that!

Hello all,
Got my Transformer Prime on Monday, and just started playing with it today. Right off the bat, I notice that on white screens there is a blank white 'dot' that takes up a couple of pixels. It's almost like there is a hole in the screen, but you can't see it when the pixels are black. I attached a picture (to the right of the word 'medicine' - more noticeable in person).
Here's the conundrum - if I return it to Amazon, I will probably have to wait another month or however long before I get the tablet. If I keep the tablet, I'll probably be irritated with this white dot hovering on all my screens.
What to do! I'm assuming this is a hardware issue? Does anybody know how to figure out what it is?
UPDATE: Talked to Amazon. Only recourse is to send the tablet back. Estimated delivery date for a replacement is Jan 25th - Feb. 8th 2012.
UPDATE 2: Spoke too soon - an Amazon representative has placed an order for another Prime at $0, so that I can return my current one when I get the replacement. So I'm not without a tablet for months. Have to say, I'm impressed.
thats easily visible.
My OCD would never let me live with that. i would suggest you return it once the stock is up. most stores give you 2 weeks for returns.
Play with it for now, you might find other defects too.
I'd live with it and write it off as part of the perils of an early adoption.
Looks like some stuck pixels and you can try the following:
-Massage the area with light pressure.
-Grab or view a animated stuck pixel image (google it)
-or...it can go away on it's own after a little time.
other then that swap it out or just wait it out and see if it doesn't just go away.

Light pressure doesn't work, at least for the minute I did it.
Trying JScreenFix app for 10 minutes. Will keep my fingers crossed. <--- Didn't work. Still there. But maybe got better?
pressure on the screen wont help. thats a manufacturing defect. It appears amazon offered you the best possible solution.
Now you can enjoy your prime, while the rest of us wait for stock

good on amazon, if i were you i would keep both.
give one to blaziner18, or me. I would like the broken one, give it to me. i want it, send it to me, ill pay... for it... please... GIVE ME IT NOW
FWIW, I have a dead pixel on my nook color tablet. It bothered me a lot at the beginning, but now I don't even notice it. But great that Amazon is taking care of that.
BTW, a swallowed pen in her stomach for 25 years!? I'd like to know what she was thinking when the doctor didn't believe that she swallowed the pen: "Hmm... well, OK, I'll just deal with this pen in my stomach." Lol!
Go Amazon! And this is why I like them. Far better to deal with Amazon than anyone on eBay. I wonder how many of these tablets will have little screen quirks like that. I hope it's extremely limited. I know ASUS doesn't make the screens themselves.
Either way, Amazon is hooking you up. I can't believe everything is pre-order right now. I think by the time I get my prime ICS will be available on it.

Gonna exchange it in-store in a few weeks if it doesn't somehow go away on its own. I can't simply ignore this. It's exactly the same as you are saying... very frustrating.
Mine came in today, just opened it and of course it has zero charge, ugh.
When plugged in, the screen turns on for a split second to show the charging icon, then turns off... but in that split second, I can already see one dead white pixel, and a blotch that looks simaler to the OP's... I'l have to wait until it fully charges so I can really examine it more, but not looking good... and I ordered mine from BestBuy, bah!
Just curious if anyone who was experiencing this issue has seen it improve. Didn't have a chance to check mine before I left for work this AM.

Just got my Prime from Best Buy. I haven't seen anyone post this but I noticed with the screen on or off, I can see miniature tiny dots all over the screen grouped in about 32 columns and 60 rows. Is this normal or do I have a defective screen? It's quite noticeable when I tilt it around with the screen off and a light on overhead as you can see the dots in the reflection.
Didn't notice that on mine for the few hours I had it man.

Oye. First post at XDA. I bought the TP at Canada Computers on December 23rd. They give two weeks for return, so I have until Friday to return or exchange this thing. If you were me, would you return this tablet? Here are my issues:
- gps will briefly lock outdoors, but loses the lock quickly after subtle movements
- hdmi output has issues with my Sony Bravia TV - only plays through left channel (using dice player and games like riptide)
- one white (dead) pixel near bottom right corner
- very slight white bleed on bottom right with black screen
What do you think? Maybe others are grappling with the same question.
Cheers,
lukin

Pixel did it for me. I am on the fence about the hdmi. I think that will happen with all of them until a fix is issued. But i would return it for the pixel.
If it is white it isn't dead though is it? I think it may be stuck. Have you tried massaging it or tapping it? I know it sounds weird but have you tried? Like with your finger or pencil eraser with a micro fiber cloth or some other material between so as not to scratch the screen. There are a few tricks if you Google it.
yeah I think the HDMI thing will just need firmware updates to fix, so hopefully will get sorted out. the pixel though is over the line, get a replacement.
Just preordered it...Hoping they come in this week. Been kicking the TF101/no TF201 around? and the Iconia A500. My wife pre ordered the prime while i was out so....I'm waiting in cyberline. Can't wait. Any other issues you guys finding?
If anything relate to screen, i would return or exchange right away, hard to ignore if you look at it every day....
Simple answer: Exchange it.
Why? If you're unhappy now, imagine how you'll feel once your small time window closes and you are still unhappy!!
Good god man, do it while y'ee have the chance!!
Yep, I'd return it for the pixel.
Single stuck pixel huh? I have one stuck red and thought that best buy would not take it back. If its a reasonable expectation that no pixels be dead or stuck then perhaps I will exchange it (if best buy lets me).
Thanks for the feedback. I am going try the screen massage, maybe break out the sexy time oils. If no luck, it goes back and I join the replacement line. It is is our first tablet and I wanted to get the best product. The bugs are testing my patience a bit. I bet it come with the territory when buying a brand new product.
Thanks.

So you say BB Woudn't take it back within their 14-days return policy?
I am not sure, I am going to send mine back to Amazon for a refund once more become in stock. Then I will re order it, hopefully with not stuck pixel. I am trying different pixel fixers/unsticking tools from the app market. Hopefully they will do the trick, as there is little wrong with it now. I did the battery drain thing to fix the messed up touch screen (never was bricked, just had poor sensitivity in random spots).

Same here. I had a monitor I kept with a dead pixel and I regretted not returning it for 3 years. Thing bugged me to death, but at the time I didn't want to go 3 weeks without a monitor to return it. I say at least try to exchange it as you should never have to put up with a dead pixel.
The HDMI and GPS probably will continue. The GPS issue is known and the HDMI is probably a handshaking issue with the DRM. A lot of devices can have these issues whether its your TV's problem or the Prime would not be known. DRM should never be included in cabling which is why I hate HDMI.

I have 2 stuck pixels that I only see on a black background when looking real hard for it. I have never seen them any other way, so I dont plan on sending it back to newegg. If I had bought it locally and could get another to try before I had to return it, then I might feel different. The fact they are still difficult to get, and how hard it is for me to see it, I will keep it.
Here's an update on my headache about whether or not to return my TP. This will also discuss the GPS issue, so others might be interested.
I spoke to customer service today about the issue discussed above. This is their response to each:
1) GPS. They told me to download the firmware update and that would fix the issue. After updating there had been some improvement, but not enough. Basically the blue arrow in google maps bounced around my current location around 30 meters from where I am. For example, up the street, one street over, down the street, and even 10 kms away on the other end of the city. It never stayed fixed on my actual address.
At that point the supervisor suggested that it be sent to ASUS for repairs. This is where we got into a over the top semantic conversation. First of all, they wouldn't acknowledge that there has been problems with GPS for others or that they had posted any public response to the issues. Weird. They wouldn't acknowledge the aluminum case issue.
I told them I have two days left to return to the store and I want a guarantee that it will come back to me with GPS fixed. They said that any product that goes to the service centre will come back fixed. However, they don't know that the fix will be "up to the customers standard" for GPS. I said, okay, what is a reasonable standard for GPS functionality? That it can lock onto a couple satellites and not bounce around the screen like a pinball. He agreed this would be what he wanted from a GPS, but would not say that for certain this would be the end result of the recalibration. Then he began to talk about "environmental factors" that could impact the signal. I said, we've got blue sky and sun today, will it work on a day like today? He wouldn't guarantee that either.
2) HDMI output issue. He said it would be reported to quality control and that it may be fixed with a future update. No guarantee either.
3) Stuck white pixel. This issue seems to have gone away (awesome), but he said it would be fixed if sent for repairs.
I called Canada Computers to ask for some kind of an extension to their 14 day return policy, to have time to see what the repair does for GPS. They shot that down pretty quick. If I keep it past 14 days, there can be no return. They said I could return it and wait for another one, but there is no current stock or promise of when the next shipment arrives.
Two more questions for the forum to chew on:
1) Has anyone reported a fully functional GPS on this device. That they can drive in their car and the satellite remains locked? I have only seen videos that show it doesn't work - like the bloke who kept on calling it rubbish. If there are working GPS out there, then I'm more likely to roll the dice with the repair.
2) Will the Sony TV issue get fixed? I have read people that say it's a software issue and correctable; whereas others talked about DRM and that a fix isn't possible. I didn't actually understand the DRM piece entirely.
3) What quad core android tablets do we expect over the next couple months that will challenge the TP for top dog status? Maybe I can return and wait.
Thanks for reading.
Backstory: Staples initially had the TFP available online for a short period, but brought it down within a few days of making it available. I called asking why, and the rep didn't have any info, but told me they could special order me one so I could use my rewards that I have been accumulating (close to $300).
Ordered my TFP on 1/5/12 and was scheduled to get it about a week ago due to wholesaler backorder, but the shipping date got pushed to 1/25/12 due to unavailability. It was only another week, so I decided to wait. I called my rep yesterday around 5 since I hadn't received my package. He called around and eventually got to a specialist team that said that Staples is refusing to sell any more TFPs until all the bugs have been worked out and they can guarantee me a quality product that works as described, due to the abundance of returns and problems with the device in the past months.
Just thought it was interesting a retailer was taking a stand like this. At first I was upset because I know theres only about a 1/3 - 1/5 chance I'll get one with Wifi troubles, which is the only thing I fear. But knowing that I wont have to worry about setting up then returning and setting up again and returning that many people are having to put up with eases my mind, especially with my academics ramping up.
Just thought I'd share
Someone posted on another forum that for the same reason, Amazon currently isn't taking any new orders for the Prime.
Good I hope ASUS loses millions of dollers they deserve it.
It's hard to know what the overall return rate is because the general public usually isn't as anal as XDA'ers. But based on what's been shared here people have gone through four Prime's to get one they're satisfied with. 5% (1:100) is typical in electronics and it costs resellers 15-20% of their costs to process a return. If the Prime's running 1:4 alarms will go off in corporate offices that track return rates and failures. At $499 resellers are making less than $100 on the Prime's they sell. At some point, it becomes a tilt. Resellers will start asking for compensation or added margin to continue selling the Prime if Asus doesn't get their act together.
I'm either in the minority or I waited long enough for the problems to get mostly worked out. I received my Prime from Amazon last week and it's been flawless. Literally zero issues other than some minor light leaking, but I've not had a single device that wasn't guilty of that to some extent. Oh well, I hate to see Asus getting slammed like they are because I love their products, but maybe it's what they need to turn their quality control around.
I think its wise for retailers to refuse any release of a product that has a high return rate. Why? Because for every return, the retailer gets a bad stigma from consumers where they bought the product from. Yes, they dont make the product but they are responsible making decisions to stocking problematic products on their shelves. Then you have the an unnecessary que forming in in the line from the same product over and over again. I know my exchanges on bestbuy delayed them since their returns and sales where on the same line at the time when I arrived. Took my about 15 mins, they made no sales, and the line slowed down since I took up 1 of the 2 sales clerk. I returned it twice and my final was a refund of two tablets took 30 mins with 2 sales clerks. They had to open up another station while I was getting helped.

And then... They have to return it to Asus either from an individual store or by shipping it back to their central warehouse. It needs to be run through accounting to have the amount they owe Asus debited for sending it back. It has to be logged in case it's lost or damaged in shipping. Asus may or may not pay the return shipping costs depending on the contract they have with the reseller. Typically large resellers have a clause in their contracts to deal with returns in excess of X% that either trigger a renegotiation or some type of penalty. None of this is good for Asus' profitability.
All I can say is Damn! Lol. ASUS really needs to get on the ball, like yesterday, and deal with these issues head one. Its a shame as this is a great device when it isn't crippled with issues some have been dealing with, like my Prime. I've used mines nonstop since I got it on 12/22 n had no problems with it, aside from obvious GPS issue. I really like it alot n still consider it the best tablet I've had. Even better than my Ipad. BUT ISSUES can't be downplayed or ignored anymore by Asus. If some retailers are refusing to sell the Prime, this could be detrimental to Asus sales. I just hope for the best that they will resolve all of this in a timely manner. Its still only been a month since release so its early enough to turn things around.
MY Prime works well but with all this chaos going on, I've accepted the fact that Overall, Asus really f#&!?!# up this launch of a great product. Everyone's device needs to work great. We know there will be errors but its all adding up too much now. Its too many out there. Doesn't matter anymore if its the minority. It seems like enough now to be a serious problem for Asus.
Let us pray for them..lmfao

That's the way it should be, stop the shipment and resolve the problem first. When Asus admitted gps problems and modified the specs without lowering the price, there's definitely something amiss with the product. This is further aggravated by the various problems encountered with this "brand new" product which was rushed out the door during the holiday season.
No Amazon, no deal!
Kind of makes me nervous to buy one. I follow these forums to see if it is worth picking up or waiting a little longer.
Yeah I'm highly disappointed with the Prime, overall this device seems to have skipped the whole test stage of development. I owned an original TF (that i bought in Apr 2011) and was very happy with how it performed and the support out of Asus. I'm returning my Prime today (bought from bestbuy Jan13th), I've waited as long as possible for Asus to address the issues and I'm fearful that this unit (TF201) will simply have to be discontinued (or drastic price reductions) in order to gain widespread traction in the market place. I know that ASUS says the new TF700 is slated to be a Premium product in the lineup, I'm just doubtful that it can stay at $600+. Add in the speculation and possibility that Apple will release a new product/features and the pressure on ASUS and others in the Android camp will be to compete aggressively on price.
With close to 60% of the tablet market (and one that is shrinking rapidly due to devices like Kindle Fire etc), it's pretty clear i think that we're about to see some significant changes soon....
I wish the MeMo was available today grrrr....
There are people on these forums that are up to 5 primes and are still looking for the perfect Prime. IT will take time for them to find the perfect one as there is not. So the returns they bring are killing ASUS.
There are also people like me who got a BC prime from gamestop that didn't have any issues aside from GPS. After a quick press near the GPS connector area, I can now stay locked on, even though signal is still low. No WiFi issues, no light bleed, no crashing, dock works fine, battery life seems great, etc.

Well two major online retailers, Amazon and Staples, have already decided to stop selling the Prime and I suspect a high rate of return has got them nervous too. Walmart carries the 101 but not the 201, and now I'm really curious at to why. Did they know something we don't?

The spring loaded pogo stick connector is pure lame design, Asus used all kinds of ribbon connectors on the Prime but dropped the ball where it was critically important. Anytime a mechanical connection is used, it becomes a point of resistance to the rf signal and when oxidation tarnishes the contacts the reception get even worse. So two issues related to the rf signals are metal shielding and poor electrical contact. Cold solder joints may also be a factor, a rush job will surely contribute to that.

Theres obviously alot of primes out there that are perfectly fine. Like I said, most polls range from 20-30% of primes having wifi issues, clearly the largest problem among a list of 3-4 valid concerns. I just thought that it was interesting that retailers are actually stepping in to protect the consumer in such a dramatic way. I've never heard of anything like this, even with much bigger hardware failures (RROD anyone?).

I doubt retailers are stepping in to protect the consumer. Its more likely that the returns are making the retailers lose money and they refuse to buy anymore from Asus until they solve the problems.

No surprise there. I had 3 primes in my hands the last month.
2 in the US from Best Buy both with dead pixels
1 in the UK, tablet great except for a little light bleed but the dock was DOA. Couldn't get the dock to charge at all, like the battery is non-existant.
I am still trying for another one.. that's after John Lewis UK can't get any in stock and had to cancel.
Nervous getting it from Frys and Best Buy next week when I am in the US again. If I get it in the UK I can get 2 years warranty.

For sure an open box return item will no longer sell as brand new for the same price.

I've witnesses multiple smartphone and device launches, and I hear the same crap about foolish users returning 3-5 phones -- this is even for the HTC Evo and HTC Evo 3D which are regarded has being quite commercially successful.
There are some legitimate issues out there that warrant a return (serial number bug here comes to mind), but I'm willing to put money down that many of the returned units are fine, but were returned because of overzealous customers.

Hey guys, I love the tablet but I am having some serious bad luck lately. Im in Houston and bought a Prime from Gamestop. They told me theres only two Gamestops in South Houston that sell them and both are about 45 minutes to an hour away from my house. So the first one I bought two days ago had a tiny scratch and dead pixels outta the box. I went yesterday to the second gamestop cuz it was 15 minutes closer to return it and after a long drive I had it replaced without a hassle from the manager at gamestop because i had the receipt. She told me that I was the first to ever return the tablet because of a defect and told me I shouldnt worry too much about having to replace them in the future. So I get home and power it on and this one has another dead pixel in a different location and bad light bleed on the right side which the other didnt have and it also had a bunch of force closes popping up on the screen. Both are the latest C3 serial. Im disappointed and going crazy over here guys. Are there that many defective tablets or is my luck just horrible? Gas is expensive these days too, and Im dreading having to go back there again tomorrow and exchange it. Sorry I guess this was more of a rant than anything, but hopefully the third times the charm...
Sucks to hear man. Seems like the C3 is just like all the others no different, you're not the first to post about issues with theirs, lightbleed and wifi
I've owned 2 gamestop primes, not a problem from either of them really. Exchanged my first one (perfect unit) after unlocking the bootloader for one still under OEM warranty. The one I exchanged it for works great - there's a tiny smidgen of bleed in the top right corner, but you really have to search to see it and that's in a dark room.
I'm in Tampa, Florida.
Keep in mind IPS panels are prone to backlight bleeds. When I returned like 4 tf101s because of backlight bleeds, best buy was practically laughing at me.

I am sorry, but you sir are a ****...now someone is going to unknowingly buy a prime without a warranty. People like you are why stores are cracking down on exchanges.

That's not my fault. It's gamestop's fault for accepting it, its asus's fault for voiding warranty and reselling it with a warranty, and it's the buyers fault for gambling their cash on refurbished devices.
Instead of cracking down on exchanges they could hire employee's that know the products they're selling.
I got mine from Gamestop and only have a tiny amount of bleed in the upper right corner but it's hardly noticeable. If I'm not mistaken, Gamestop opens them, adds their games and apps and then seals them back up so it's possible whoever is doing that is less than careful with them.
Bought mine (C3) from Gamestop today and either I have no significant light bleed, it's not enough to bother me, or I simply don't know what to look for. I saw a photo of someone else's TF light bleed in another thread and mine's nothing like that.

I'm not sure if the manager would let you do this, but if you can:
Unbox the ATP in front of the manager and test it out before ringing it up. Might save you the trouble of having to drive back and forth. Explain your situation regarding the defective products that you've had the misfortune to come across, and hopefully they will let you test it out (most likely supervised if so).

Of course it's not your fault, it's somebody else's, it always is.
Whoo after three primes i finally got a good one same serial number
So I sent my tablet in on 4/8th and it was received by asus on the 12th according to the Fedex tracking, but shows the 13th. Thats fine a day to register it...
I waited 14 business days, called to have it escalated, they told me someone was going to call me in 24-48 hours. Ok i patiently waited, 48 hours passed no contact via email nor phone.
I called again, this time I spoke to a supervisor he assured me that an email was sent to the tech center, and I would have to wait 24-48 hours for them to contact me. OK I waited patiently again since a supervisor assured me...
Now today, 48 hours have passed, I contacted them again, they said theres nothing they can do but wait 48 hours and if no one contacts me then call back...
it seems like i'm giving the runaround waiting 2 days then 2 days then 2 days...
I tried to contact Gary Key via PM and Email but he hasnt contacted me back over 2 weeks, same with Hai Trat...
Any suggestions? I'm thinking to file a BBB complaint and go to small claims court...
Yeah, Asus support has pretty much guaranteed they are now on my no buy list...
Tried to register my Asus (open box) and it was already registered. They keep telling me they will delete the info so I can register it and get the dongle, but every time I try it says serial number already registered.
It's like at least a week between each reply too, and in poor English. Not impressed. Good luck on your RMA!
More and more horror stories. Not surprised.
It's really a sh*t show over at Asus.
People should only RMA their tablet if there are major problems with the tablet. Not just things like dead pixels, random restarts or weak wi-fi. Not worth the risk.

well after Hai Trat replied back to me on my email, it was shipped back out to me the next day. just got a shipment notification from fedex.. lets hope my tablet is in one piece
Hopefully yours won't come back with the backplate scratched up. Still waiting to hear from Asus on that.

honestly it's not ASUS service so to speak that is bad, its is their contracted repair centers. Problem is since they contract out they don't have any idea as to the inner workings of the repair centers. So when we call all they can do is send them emails and hope they respond. I do agree this is still not acceptable and they need to really rethink how they contract/who they contract out.

Agreed, but since it was their choice of contracted repair centers, I believe the blame is on them... A huge company like Asus ...contracting 3rd rate repair centers? Really shows how much they care about their customers TBH. There's no way in hell I would purchase another Asus product in the future, even if they were the only company to have a keyboard dock. It is not worth the hassle, in the case of something going wrong with the product and waiting a whole month to get it back. IMHO.

One month at this stage.. Two months total.. I used the tablet for two weeks, don't even remember how it looks like anymore.. Consumer advisors etc. have contacted asus and nothing happens. They refuse to repair it in/out of warranty, they refuse return my money.. Or in fact, they do not directly refuse, they just promise to "look into it"

It's now almost 3 month for me. One one my primes had a broken glass, I paid for it, but so far I only get different answers, from is ready to be shipped to no spare parts or it goes out tomorrow. I contacted now my lawyer.
Definitely the last time I bought something with an Asus Label on it.
Mine went into the Europe centre (Slapanice, CzR)on 26th April with screen mura - says it's ready for shipping today, exactly 14 days. If it is back within the week that won't have been too bad; though it has been a very frustrating due to the lack of information bout the whole process that's available from the RMA progress site and the fact that the support email team have no access to what's going on in the repair centre, but moreover because of my own tendency to check on the status 5 times a day. Of course it's still not in my hands yet...

There was only a little bit of light bleed on the top right corner when i sent it in, now theres light bleed on the bottom right and bottom side......grr. oh well, lesson learned. never buy anything Asus no more.
