I want to get beats audio in evo 3d latest update can anyone help me out. Thanks in advance
I tried adding it to the newest version using the mod to add Beats and unlocked Sprint HotSpot, but I got stuck on the splash screen. I know they got the unlocked HotSpot done, but I'm waiting for an updated Beats mod. If someone could make it flashable again, that'd be GREAT!
Yeah i have also tried that mod and i got the same results

Too many changes to the framework. Best bet is try a stock 2.17 rom with beats added in. Otherwise you need to pull your framework files and mix it in yourself.
I dont know of any 2.17 rom with integrated beats
You would be better off just flashing back to the previous RUU.
Several reasons why it would be pointless to make a “flashable” for this…
The first and most notable is the fact that it goes way more in depth than having a simple little preset equalizer. You need a kernel with the beats drivers built into it. The linux kernel is the function of android that handles all audio processing. Your sounds drivers have frequency ranges which enable your phone to process sound. Chad’s older kernels were the only kernels that had this done properly. If you want to improve sound, you would be better off using one of those.
My personal experience has been virus’ eternity 1.4.2 ROM plus chad’s REV09 or RC3 beats kernels is the best sounding ROM for music. Without his kernels, music (to me anyways) sounds like garbage through these phones.
Unless you can verify the actual sound processing capability of the new RUU, don’t waste your time with beats. Just download a free equalizer from the market and call it good.
Ahh gotcha now with a beats kernel you arent goin to have true beats can you postlinks to your setup so i can download

well actually it's the opposite. WITHOUT a beats kernel, without beats drivers, you will not have true beats. I have found that the biggest difference in sound on this phone is noticed with or without a beats kernel. everything else is just extra ingredients on the cake.
right now I am running steel ROM 2.72 with Chad's REV09 beats kernel (the one that was up for a couple days before it had to be pulled). his RC3 A06 beats kernel was right on par if not better than REV09. I have been using REV09 for my DD since its release since I am very much into music. shoot me a pm if you need anything....

Reason im looking for beats audio is bacuse i have a pair of beats audio headsets and they work great when listening to music i love listening to music and with beats i find it mor enjoyable btw add me on google talk [email protected]
I hear a difference using my Skullcandy 50/50's when I used Beats on the 2.08 OEM ROM. If anyone does get it modified for 2.17, I'd welcome it. But with ICS due soon, might as well wait, right?
Yeah true thats what i was thinking ics is just around the corner

My cousin has an EVO 3D and he is currently running a ROM that has the beats software built in like the newer HTC phones coming out. I was wondering if there is already a ROM or if its in the works for the thunderbolt?

Fake. 99 percent of all Beats audio ports are fake.

It's clearly not fake I saw and used it, I plugged in the beats and it said enable beats in the status bar. The control talk worked and the quality sounded great too. The EVO devs are really doin amazing right now is the word on the street.

oh dear....
Calling Adrynalyne out is NOT usually a good idea on these kinds of matters. I'll be standing by to see you get schooled.
A notification icon clearly proves it works. I will kindly not bother with this one, because I know better and there is no point in discussing it further.
Alright, I lied.
Here is why Beats is fake on most devices: Because the audio drivers cannot be ported. Beats is not just an apk.
Beat consists of at the very least:
A notification apk.
A Beats aware music player that can switch audio profiles when detecting Beats headphones.
Drivers.
Depending on who you ask, a supporting DSP.
Can all roms run the notification apk? Yes, along with the appropriate modifications to display it.
Can they all run the Beats aware music player? Sort of.
There are are tutorials out there on how to make your music player Beats aware to work with any headphones. What they actually do: Trick the apk into thinking its connected to Beats headphones. HOWEVER: They strip out the profile switching code, and are basically just triggering the notification with no change for anything else. If you do not believe me, go diff a beats enabled music apk and one that is not.
Can drivers be ported? Not usually. Go grep drivers and see if they contain Beats code in them. I bet the Kingdom does not. The DHD does not, and we DEF. do not. The Sensation may.
So, how do I know there is more to it than just the music apk? Besides the obvious code doing nothing but triggering the notification?
I have two Thunderbolts. I "ported" Beats to Thunderbolt A, and kept Thunderbolt B stock.
First, I tested Thunderbolt A alone. I was impressed, the sound was GREAT! Not believing my sense of placebo effects, I tested it next to the Thunderbolt B. Same song, same headphones, switching back and forth.
It was EXACTLY the same.
So I did some research. Nearly every thread out there of anyone who truly spent the time investigating, found it to be placebo.

This, beats is a huge gimmick and doesn't actually do anything. I've actually found that it makes things sound worse and clips a bunch of frequencies on my touchpad...
Beats lmao
I hope noone really buys into this **** on the phones or any of the headphones either, garbage all junk.
I can't believe what people will buy today that are easily manipulated and uneducated.
I hope none of this **** finds its way near my phone.
I personally didn't think beats was all that great but alot of users like it so i made this flashable version for my rom. Figure everyone else would enjoy it as well. It does replace some files though such as services.jar and framework.jar. I have only tested it with my rom but it should work with any rom but i suggest making a nandroid backup just in case.
This is the full beats with icons and eveything
Now with HotSpot working (Thanks Leoisright)
Sense Roms ONLY
Anyways just flash it in recovery and enjoy
Now has universal updater-script so it can be flashed on any device But probably will not work so try at your own risk !!
A few have reported that it flashes on other devices and it boots so it may just work on some.
This is developed for the Evo 3D it is on the portal and because of my title it says for ANY Sense rom but it was made for the 3d. but if you want to try it on other devices i strongly recommend a nandroid backup before testing. I'll be looking into the possibility of multiple devices soon. Sorry for the confusion..
Now updated to 2.17 Base !!! First boot will take a few minutes be patient !!
Clear music apps data from settings before running music for the first time. Clear HTCMusic and Music Enhancer data.
Tested on MeanROM
Updated 5-18 - to ICS, includes beats notify. May break a few features in leedroid tweaks will only effect framework edits made by leedroid which shouldnt be much. On 2.17 it only messed up the overscroll. Works on VM leaked ics and should work on any sense 3.6 roms.
A BIG thanks and credit to GrousomeWolf & Team Nocturnal for the needed files in the Beats for 2.17 Based ROMS !!!
i know it says "for any rom" but will this work with aosp?

As a sound engineer i can tell u exactly what it does.
its simply e.q no added stereo imaging or reverd just simple e.q
it just takes out the sub bass and adds the mid low bass to give u that full bass sound on headphones.it takes off some of the hi freq and cuts those while boosting the high mids
Im pretty positive because i have used dsp since the hero and can produce this effect lol
Just wanted to clear this up to people because like most of u i was expecting alot more! i have some studio headphones so if u have some $15 small ear buds dont expect much lol
its all about preference though just dont IGNORE ROMS THAT DONT HAVE BEATS because it isnt much at all!

I will have to disagree with part of this statement. I do agree that it is probably nothing more than an eq setting but I have never been able to replicate this setting using dsp manager or any other eq for that matter....at least not through my stereo bluetooth set. DSP alone, has never even remotely made my headset bearable to listen to, but beats makes them sound as good or better than a wired set. That is saying quit a lot.

if it works for u great lol i was just trying to explain to everyone its not a necessity in roms if u have dsp lol
i know what u mean though 100% i had a Bluetooth headphone set and it sounded horrible through dsp

Im looking to be able to make meanrom more custom. I really like the Idea of Beats Audio, anyone wanna post a BA theme? I know red and blue theme from leedroid are out but i want more! Any suggestions for other cool roms? Thank you
Hmm...
Yeah. I'm still a little confused on this. If I read correctly when I flashes MeanRom I thought it said it wouldn't be compatible with further themes or tweaks specifically mentioning incompatibility with Beats audio which personally I consider almost an useless gimmick if you already have a global DSP. I even tried removing Beats and then attempting some theme modifications and they still didn't pan out. This ROM seems very picky.

Blended beats should work I tested it but that was some time ago most themes out have beats in them but the only way to know is to flash away that is y you can back up first
Leedroid tweaks works with MeanRom, so does Ice Cream Supreme. Those are about your only reliable/confitrmed Tweaks.

make the switch to ZR3D 2.4gt, you can customize the look 6 differnt ways built into the rom, including status bar icons and custom skins no flashing needed, also the beats is amazing

^ beats audio hater?
I installed it as soon as it was in the portal. It works really well, no problems.
I installed it, but I just didn't really notice much of a difference. I don't know if it makes a difference if you're using headphones or what not but just listening to music thorugh the phone, I just didn't notice a lot of difference.
Speaking of which, a student of mine left his Beats headphones on my desk. So I decided to check them out while at the gym. They were pretty cool...not enough midrange and i didn't think the highs were high enough. Then I asked how much he paid for them
OMG! Really?! I thought the Bose headset I checked out sounded a lot better and were less than half the price.

You just asked everything I was about to
I just used the zip that was in the thread and used beta 1 cwm, and yes the only difference is with headphones as far as I can tell.
do i just install the files for anyandroid 2.3+?
That doesnt tell us what zip.
2.3? Samsung?
I hae flashed the all android, the Samsung and the 3-2-2012 zips and the files don't install.
When I try to do it manually and fix permissions my phone will not boot up.
Weird.

i've been on passion 13.1 for a while now and am looking for something with the best sound headphones for my flexsmart x2, i need something with full voodoo sound ten support and i just downloaded ics kiss v8.2 kernel hope that should clear somethings up mbut would like a rom with great sounding voodoo sound and dsp manager, if anybody has any ideas or suggestions in any field please let me hear them. oh yeah, when i look under kernel module options in voodoo sound i it won't say supported, is that okay?
subZero Kernel supports Voodoo10.
Since I'm not interested in running ics well you recommend me a good room for playing sound through the headphones?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Oh, I thought you stated you wanted to run an ICS rom. Hmm, CM7 is a decent choice, but I haven't run too many Gingerbread Roms myself. I really liked the Roms from TeamWhiskey, but support stopped for them, so it's hard for me to give them my full recommendation.
What is it that you're fully looking for in a rom? Do you want it based off of Gingerbread or Froyo?
If you're going to use CM7/MIUI - Mr. Apocalypse's 99 Problems kernel supports Voodoo Sound 10.
My vibrant is used for music only
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Well, if you've literally just turned your Vibrant into an MP3 player, I'd say pick your poison on the rom, as it sounds like Voodoo Sound 10 is the only thing you need.
Your description of needs has been pretty ambiguous so far. I'm honestly not even sure what you're looking for. If you need more, be specific on what you want/need.
Just start playing with roms and find one that appeals to you. Check out the Kernel Bible Thread in the Development forum if you're not satisfied with the suggestions I've offered.
Well I'm looking for something well working and low battery consumption, I don't mind going to froyo if I can get the best Sound out of it, I'm going to try moshiach but I would really like one with phone capabilities and I used to use simply galaxy
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Flash Fishman's Bionix with Voodoo Kernel. Stable, long battery and Voodoo Sound. Plus everything works too.
Just an fyi Beats Music is nothing more than just OK. There is a a thread in the Q&A section about Beats and Froyo. Check it out before you flash it. IIRC it is included in the M tweaks.
Voodoo sound + PowerAmp + Bose in-ears = Sonic Eargasm. That is what I run daily for music, MLB At-Bat, Sticher, Jango, ...
I'll refuse the eargasm I like symphonics sounds and I'll download the bionics fishermans ROM and look into buying the Bose headphones and listen for a mello accent and try to check out the thread for the beats audio and read it then make my decision on if I want to flash it.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Its cool. Eargasm btw doesn't mean glass breaking volume. PowerAmp has like 9 EQs plus you can set your own. The Bose phones bring out the lower tones but balance them with smooth treble and nice mids.
I'd link that thread but my tablet is a little wonky tonight.
i may try to get voodoo sound ten on bionics fm
it seems that the bali kernel has voodoo sound nine so i'm going to try to get ten on biofishmen with using imortality 2.2. do u think it will improve?
