I received my MiniSuit Portfolio on Saturday.. It is a very nice case, very well made. Yes - it adds bulk but if you can't tell that when you ordered it then you didn't look at the pictures . It's a tri fold so of course it will add bulk, plus the leather. It is obviously very functional, and the side that holds a business card can probably hold a few pieces of paper but otherwise too much or it will just get entirely too fat..
OK, so the obvious things aside..... Here come the constructive criticisms. I'm a little concerned with the fit. The leather covers the bezel so when you dock it, it is really, really really tight.. I wonder if it puts "stress" on the fit of the dock and tablet.. The part that holds the dock snaps on.. It has little strap on the top corners, and when you add those it added and even tighter fit.. If you leave them off, and the dock slides down quite a bit when you are using it.
After only one day's use, the parts of the leather that go between the tablets and dock are pretty scuffed up.
Since the dock snaps off, I thought I'd be able to use the case for just the tablets if I didn't have the dock. Well I CAN, but the magnetic closer is part of the tri-fold that is on the dock portion, and so unless you have that part (even if it's empty), then the cover is very "flappy" (which is OK, so just fyi).
In all fairness, I am calling MiniSuit tomorrow. I need to get ask about another part of my order anyway (a different case, different purpose). This portfolio case is also ever so slightly "off" center enough that the camera is partially covered up (yes I've tried moving it several times but it still settles into the same place) I don't think that is normal, my friend's case is aligned perfectly.. So maybe this one is just a little warped overall.
I'm definitely giving MiniSuit benefit of doubt here, I am sure they will replace this one anyway since he camera hole is off center. Perhaps they can explain the width of the the leather between the tablets and dock. It's late and I can't remember ever seeing a "spec" for that. All I know is that it is really small.
I've include some insanely detailed pictures for reference if anyone would like to see what I'm talking about
EDIT:.. Pics will have to come another time, gallery not cooperating

I'm looking forward to the pics! Thanks!
I just installed one of these covers on my wife's Prime and the camera on the rear is way off to one side also. And there are a few blems and over glues on the cover. I am not happy with this product. Let us know what you find out. I bought mine through Amazon so I am not sure what is my next step.........Thanks......
Ok, I talked to them and they were really great. They are sending me a replacement (and a prepaid label to return the one I have). They offered me a choice of replace or partial refund but I want to try a replacement. I told them I had photos of the camera port and the way the pictures came out and they very nicely asked if I wouldn't mind sending those in and thanked me in email for doing so.
I didn't not ask them about the leather being a bit thick (for my liking) or it getting scuffed already. I've read the reviews on Amazon and I don't really see anyone else mentioning this or thinking it's a problem. I'm hoping some folks on here get theirs in so we can see if there is a "space" difference between the og and Prime and maybe that is why it's not mentioned?
I think that is going to have to be a judgement call on my part. Dangit - if they had just made the bottom part hold the tablet with nice straps it would be fine, but the fact that it scuffed leather after one day ... seems to me like it is too tight. On the other hand......my friend looked at it, said he thought it looked fine and that it was leather - it would "break in" and flex. If I thought I would ALWAYS have the dock with it, I might be tempted to cut the dang leather off the bottom, but you can't really do that or the tablet will fall out with the dock gone. If I keep it, I might end up rigging it after a while anyway
Like I said - it's a nice case, very functional, it does add bulk, but anything we get that carries both will do that.
Ok...pictures. I used a toothpick for reference, you all have one of those and can tell for yourselves how far on will go in the small space between tablet and dock
Yeah, the case didn't fit my tablet and dock perfectly either. But their customer support is nothing short of amazing. I just emailed them, showed them a photo of the problem and they are sending me a replacement (they shipped it the same day I contact them). Should be getting it soon. Best thing yet is they don't even need me to return my defective unit.

Same here - they shipped it out and I have a tracking number the same day I called.
I didn't think they wanted the defective one back either, but in their email they wrote " A prepaid label will be included with your shipment for the defect". So.....I guess they want it back. Which is fine of course. I'm just not sure what they will do with it cuz I really don't think they are going to use it to make any changes or anything.
Well, I got my replacement. They did not end up sending a pre-paid return label so they don't want the defective one back apparently.
However the new one is worse than the first one as far as the camera port hole goes. It is obviously cut VERY wrong. So now both have been off very far towards the flash, covering parts of the camera lens. I realize i wont be using my camera very often, but I have noticed that it's rarely "planned" when I DO want to use the camera.
I also still have a big concern about the leather being so think between the dock and tablet. If everything else were perfect, I would likely rig it. I'd probably just cut it off. This would really only present a problem if you were to have the tablet without the dock because the tablet could slip out of the case with the having that section secured, but I'd just not use that case without the dock then (I have several other cases)
This is the perfect case for the combo, but it is flawed
Funny thing is - I received my other Minisuite case and LOVE it!! The ports and camera holes are perfect. It's the 360 degree rotating one (does not accommodate dock). I think, obviously, all these cases that look the same are made by some company in China, and then stamped by companies here. But for some reason the template they used for the nice leather keyboard/tablet combo is just not right.
Pretty much my experience, I do not believe they had an actual Prime in hand when they designed this case. Not pleased overall and waiting for better options.

As my attempt to organize a group buy was closed I might try the tegratab forum to start one there.
The case is still in the mail but I hope to have it soon.
I will post pictures of the original dock later today because I have to run out for a bit. The dock I hope will be in the mail soon but as I mentioned before.. it's expensive.
Here are the pictures of the official malata dock.
Sorry, forgot to post them yesterday.
I like the looks of the dock. What types of connections does it have on he back?
it's the same connections as the copy version on taobao.
1 x ethernet (10/100)
1 x HDMI 1.2
1 x USB
1 x Power
I hope to have more info on this soon.
looks nice....i am about to buy the tab from Sears, would love to know the price of the dock, is this the official dock ? how much did it cost and from where?
It's the official malata zpad dock but I don't have it yet. Unfortunately the pricing is like $65 so I don't know if I will order it because that's a but on the high side for me too.
The sample case will be arriving Thursday (Dec 2nd) if customs doesn't slow it down any more.
I'm sorry..
Sorry my friend, maybe my mistakes Caused your post has been closed.
You will be get the sample tomorrow?please give me a
information.
The case was just delivered but UPS!
All the work has paid off!! It's a perfect fit for the g-tablet.
Will get some pictures online tonight and start a group buy at a different place.
Here are the pictures with the g-tablet in the case.
Case is made out of real leather (smells better then chemicals) and the inside is a soft suede to protect the tablet.
The viewing angle works perfect for me and when I am looking at the screen I don't have any problems with the bad viewing angles of the g-tablet which is a big plus.
It's very sturdy and even sitting it on books or an uneven surface won't make it tip over.

Is there a version of this without that click flap/strap thing? I'm looking for something really simple like the apple made one for the ipad which is similar in design but doesn't have that clumsy clasp thing. Thanks.
If you want one without the strap then I think that would be possible yes.
It's a fairly custom product.
I'd also prefer without the clasp. Since you have one, can you see whether it is easily removed or unstitched?

It's the sample..maybe have the one without click flap/strap.instead of Built-in magnets.and, the part of the standing can also be changed into scaffolding. cut into the bottom bracket from the case.
I would love to get one which is custom made for the tablet? How much is it to get it delivered in Florida/USA?
It's not allowed to sell here but send me a PM and I can give you more info.
Case looks great Agreed. Smaller clasp with magnet instead of snaps would be ideal.
How long would it take to get a batch made in such a way?
I'll arrange for one without the clasp/strap.
I would like one without the clasp/strap also
I'm curious to see what it looks like without that clasp/strap. I'm very intrigued by this case, it looks really good.
I'll try to get more info on the options and if without is actually possible.
To give my 2 cents. I wasn't crazy about the clasp either from the first pictures and that it sticks out when sitting down. Now that I actually have the case I wouldn't want it without it. It feels solid when closed and looks very nice. Everyone their own choice
I'll see what info I can get.
I'm trying to get a place together to organize the group buy so hang in there.
For more info just PM me and I will try to get back to you as soon as possible.
Thanks!

Seems like a great price. Not sure if it fits the GTablet exactly, but turns out this guy is based like 5min from my house, so I can always return it to him if its not good.
Anyone have any opinions on this?
you could always "ask a question" to get the dimensions. I'd be afraid that it will stick out the sides
Almost definitely not actual leather (I hate deceptive descriptions) and there doesn't seem to be any visible way to actually ATTACH the tablet to the thing. Horrible picture details, and it is highly unlikely a single case could hold (well) a 7/8/10 inch tablet PC like the seller says.
I would pass on that one. Just go to electroniccrap.com or look for listings here for the ones MADE for the G-tablet.

There seem to be 2 clips on the bottom and 1 on the top to hold it. Most cases come with 1 (or 2 ) more clips on the side. Without this there is a chance of the tablet sliding out through the sides. Although once you have side tabs you have to be careful that they dont block the usb port.
Also you *have* to check the dimensions

I've had one of these before. They are really cheap looking and are not leather but a shiny slippery plastic. It is not recommended for use in a professional setting unless you enjoy people laughing at you. There is a thread in this accessories section that covers this case at length. Search for USB keyboard case.
Also, the tablet does not stay firmly in the case and will slip around a lot and may even fall out.
Avoid this case like a dirty diaper.

LOL, you and me have different priorities! I'm not buying this to wow people and I'm really not concerned about people laughing at me. I am concerned about the tablet not fitting tho. Either way, this case would only be for when I wanted a keyboard with me, which is not all the time (otherwise I'd stick to my netbook which is about the same size as the tab+keyboard case).
When I'm going on a trip, plane ride, camping, etc, and this will be the only thing I have access to when traveling light, I like the idea of a keyboard option. But that's another thing to carry, so I'd rather it be built into the case. But the rest of the time, a thinner classier case (like the Kindle DX ones) would be preferable to me, especially to sit and read in portrait orientation.

Dont have pics, but it fits (it is made for the gtablet),
Some info/pics are at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1015853
goodintentions had a video review for his, on that thread but the link does not seem to be working.
I need a keyboard rarely, when I am typing out a big email. It is functional for that purpose. Some minor cons as I see are
1. Even with tabs on 3 sides, it can slip out of the 4th side, so you have to hold it right. Am thinking of adding a Velcro strip on the 4th side.
2. The leather is suspect, and it stunk up my room for a few days after I opened it.
3. It adds quite some weight.
4. Have to reboot the gtablet after connecting the keyboard most times for it to work.
5. The keyboard connects to the big USB, the small USB is covered by the left tab. But I rarely use that when it is in the case.
But it is $25, the USB cable length is fine, and it does have a magnet for the USB cable !!!
I bought one of these cases off ebay, just waiting for it to arrive. I bought one "specifically" made for the gtablet, with the tabs not blocking the usb port. I know I could of had one for less, but would have had to mod the case to fully work with the gtablet. I was actually looking at the one OP posted to save a few bucks, but I didn't like the way the case was designed, with no tabs to hold the tablet in place on the sides.
I was at Fry's today and decided to look at cases. They had none for the Asus but they had one for the Toshiba 10.1 Tablet. I did not have the EEE with me but I went ahead and got it. List was $59.99 but they matched online price so I got it for about $42. Here it is:
http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-Thriv...?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1309054174&sr=1-11
So far I love it - it fits well and has access to all the important stuff (except camera). I don't know if I will keep it. I also love the quality and the fact that it rotates 90 degrees from Portrait to Landscape.
It does say TOSHIBA on it but that is also a good thing - if it said ASUS there would be a much bigger chance that it would get stolen.....
Anybody else have this?
i bought a case for the Toshiba too from best buy, $40...lil different from yours but made for the same tablet...i am happy with it...it works just fine...excellent build quality too...no camera access without sum modifying but overall just wat i needed...

I really like that! been looking for a case which uses bumpers to hold the tablet. How well does it actually fit (is it slightly loose, too tight that it bends the clips slightly or just right?) and are the lengths good?
Any chance you could post pictures because I would really love to get this if it fits good!
I also forgot to ask if the holes for docking the keyboard are unobstructed?

Definitely interested in seeing pictures of this. I bought the case that Staples has, but I'm not satisfied with it at all.
Bumping this thread. Has anyone else tried this case? Have any pics to share?
Looking at the specs, the Toshiba is 6mm taller (in landscape mode). Do the clips hold the TF securely? Thanks.
I just received it...very disappointing.
Hey everyone. I just wanted to let you know that I ordered this from Amazon thinking it would be a good fit. It was somewhat close, but it does not hold the TF securely. I could easily see the tablet sliding all the way out and hitting the floor if you were not paying attention. In fact, when in portrait mode the tab slides out on most of the angles. There are some fairly big gaps.
I have uploaded some pictures, so hopefully they will illustrate some of the issues.
It is also poorly put together. The tab that snaps in place was loose. I barely pulled on it and it came out somewhat such that now it is off angle and no longer lines up naturally to secure the tab.
On the plus side, it would leave openings for accessing anything you needed to and also folds down flat so you could just use it in your hands.
Bottom line, I am sending it back.
Hope this helps others who where/are interested.
^^^
Feel bad for you man, never understood the attraction with the clip type cases, those things are made of plastic, one involuntary quick movement and this thing could send the Tf flying. The wrap around cases are much better at overall protection.
It's not a big deal. I know that I am picky and was fairly sure I would be sending it back. I didn't have enough experience with these to even know about the clip type cases, so I am glad that I now know to avoid them in the future. I mostly just wanted to let the few people that had bumped this post know that the product was maybe not so good and provide the pictures that had been requested.
I actually like the clip style. I just wish there were options similar to those that the iPad has, where the back is basically a plastic shell that clips. My wife has a Targus case for her iPad2 that does this. Personal preference, I guess. I wouldn't be against a non-clip case if it was very well implemented. I picked up the Solo case from Staples as a temporary measure until some more options are available. Works OK, but I really don't like the corner-cover means of securing the tablet.
I"m not sure what to make of this case for the transformer. Does not have that many picture to show how well it fits and covers the transformer without the dock or with the dock. Does anybody have this product?

What poor designing...they really need to make one of these but with something like hard silicon/TPU/Plastic, similar to the InCase products for Apple Macbooks. Those just snap on in two pieces to the exterier of the laptop and cover it nicely when its closed. This just looks like a bombardment of faux leather all over the place.

Received mine today. I can't send it back fast enough. It's fairly low quaility and does not fit well. The description says it is leather but I can't find any. Seems to be made of vinyl and fake suade. It was only $23 so I was not expecting much but the fit and quaility was poorer than I expected.
This looks like it could have promise for a similar pricepoint.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Asus-Eee-Pa...?pt=US_Tablet_Accessories&hash=item3f0d4f8fa5
It's a shame that the Poetic case turned out to be such a disappointment.
I'm surprised, because I just got this Poetic case on eBay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/280719327360?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
and it's great. It arrived in about 4 days from California.
It's a sturdy case that holds the Transformer using corner/side clips only,
which leaves all the ports easily accessible. It appears to be made of leather, or
at least a good quality plastic simulation. The case closes with a curved metal clip
which seems well-padded and doesn't damage the tablet.
The case has three positions. I use the highest for watching movies and the lowest for anything
that requires lots of typing. The front of the case folds completely flat behind the back,
and you can even dock the tablet, although the case isn't intended to hold the dock.
The best part: Even though the pictures don't show it, the flap connecting
the front and back has an opening for the dock/charging connector.
I can charge the tablet without removing (or even opening) the case!!!
I e-mailed the vendor and they assured me that the dock/charging connector
opening is standard and offered a refund if anyone gets one without it.
I've tried a bunch of cases - separate sleeves for the tablet, a "dual" sleeve with separate
pockets for the tablet and dock, etc., but this is the one I'm staying with.
If anyone is interested, I got the Diamond design one
Pics: http://imgur.com/a/ZXR7c
I just got mine! I actually paid 26something USD to ship it to The Netherlands (why are these rates so ridiculously high!?)...
In the end, it works fine for me. It fits my tablet, I don't have to take it off to attach the keyboard dock and it also closes with tablet + dock inside. Details are fine, fit is reasonably good (it seems to be a bit off at the front facing cam).
$24 makes a good buy.. at 50 (including shipping), I feel a bit dissapointed.
Then again;
to protect my phone, I bought www.pielframa.com last year they don't sell Asus eee cases (yet??). Cost me quite a bit. Great finishing, real craftsmenship! When I dropped the phone, the leather ripped and bit by bit fell of the casing. Now, there's a leather-less patch (about 1 cm) doesn't really bother me, but it made me wonder how much a phone case should actually cost.. knowing you're not that carefull and might drop it anyway
Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with Speck, Barnes & Noble, or Amazon. I do not profit, or gain anything by this recommendation. It's just a personal discovery that made me happy and thought it might be helpful to other NSTR users.
For some reason all the B&N official Nook cases are way thicker and bulkier than they need to be. Also most third-party cases I looked at were faux-leather with huge messy stitching as if they were part of a Frankenstein cosplay competition.
Being super picky about these sorts of things, I put off buying a NSTR case while obsessively trying to find one that was:
1. Slim (All these giants cases defeat the purpose of a tiny portable ereader)
2. Play-through (I can leave it on while using, ie not just a slip-cover I can lose)
3. Protective (Not soft)
Well, I've been looking high and low, reading all the Nook forums with no luck until recently when I finally found this case: (I can't post links yet, so just search on Amazon for "Nook touch fitfolio"
Speck FitFolio for Nook Simple Touch Reader.
I saw it at Target for $29.99, but bought it on Amazon for just over $21. It looks like the price fluctuates a bit (it's $24.83 right now).
I got the black one, I got my wife the teal one. It also comes in purple.
wow, the blue one is really ugly. :-D looks like a lunch box. The grey one is nice.
I am using a cover bought from B&N, it is a bit thicker and larger but at least it protects my nook well from pressure and falls. That cover above seems to slim, I don't belive your nook would survive if it falls e.g. on the corner. Mine did several times.
Can you lock the front side of the cover to the back side (while reading)?

I use the Silicone skin. It's relay nice and absorbs most of the shock of a drop.

1. I've looked at each and every official B&N cases in detail and found all of them, frankly, to be really lacking in several areas. The Speck case has a much more secure attachment system as well a good shock absorption due to the material and the shape of the case. Also, as I mentioned, it is much more form fitting than any of the B&N cases.
2. Yes, you can lock the front cover to the back while reading.
I should have mine next week!
Based on your recommendation I ordered one, and I should have it next week. I will let you know how it works out.
Edit: I just exchanged my NSTR at B&N a couple of days ago as it had a cluster of stuck pixels. I had no problems, but the employee said that it could have been caused by something being pushed down on that screen at that point. This is why I decided to get a case, as I don't want it to happen again!

Edit: I reviewed the description & it DOES say the bungee is "two-way", so I am assuming it is designed to work that way - it just seemed a bit of a tight stretch. No biggie for me, as I don't think I would be attaching it any - folded back works fine.
Just received mine today. It really has a nice feel, and I think it will protect it well. Thanks for the recommendation!
P.S. The cover DOES fold back upon itself, but I wouldn't say exactly say it "locks" (rather, I would not want to, as it would overstretch the "bungee").
EDIT: I just reviewed the specs, and it does state that the bungee is "two-way" - it just seemed a bit of a tight stretch. No biggie for me, as it works well, simply folded back, and not attached.
So the folded cover is not "fixed" in the folded position? Could you upload more photos?
Mine nook cover is magnetic and therefore folded front & back cover keeps together, moreover when bonded with magnetic clip.
I have bought aluminium case for my NST. It has 3 positions for reading. The NST clips inside so it wont fall out. It has a black padding inside and it seems to be thinner then all those folding leather ones. The disadvantage of this cover is -> when you open the cover and flip it at the back, so it flat ... it's kind of awkward to read it like that, because of the round shape. It just feels
Since this is one of my first posts in this forum, I can't put the LINK for the cover. but if you would go in UK Ebay and type in search : aluminium nook ... you should see it. it cost 12.99GBP.
But now with the "keayboard hack" ... I'm thinking about finding a way how to modify the cover for 10" tablets with keyboard so it can hold the NST. That's what kepps my mind busy at the moment.
I agree completely with the Speck case. I too do not see the need for B&N making such large covers for such a small device. The Speck cover is just barely bigger than the nook and is comfortable to hold with the cover folded back and secured. The nook snaps in and out of the cover very easily. If you fold the cover back and secure it, it stays level and has enough grip to not slide if you prop it against something to read. I would prefer a magnet or snap closure, but after several uses the bungee gets easier to fasten. Very satisfied with this cover.
I found the Specs cases at my local Target. Prices varied from $29.99 for the standard colored (blue, purple, green) cover to $34.99 for a black 'leather' version. They did not show up at the online Target.com site. Very nice. I may have to get one.
I have ordered Industriell Cover in Carbon with Lyra Light and Anti-Glare Film when bought my Nook. And right after my order came to me in B&N store appeared Silicone Covers and Stella Light. I`d rather bought them...
What I don`t like in my cover is the way Nook is mounted into it. Why not to fix the book with four of these latches. Another thing is the size, tried to find anything that adds less to the sizes of the Nook itself.
Also in this theme I saw Speck cover, if I knew of it earlier I`d mostly bought it. But now I don`t need two covers so... I use what I use...

I have the same case, and it's not that easy to hold. And trying to press the buttons on the left just makes the entire thing flip. Also, what changed between the Lyra Light and the Stella Light?
Have no problems holding it.
Don`t like how left buttons are pushed myself that`s on what I said about latches.
Stella looks just prettier then Lyra. Also Lyra just unbends when Nook is being shaked(while reading in bus or other transport)

I think that's the one I got: I would normally never buy a case made by the device manufacturer, but I picked this one up at Best Buy for (I think) $15: it's two stiff boards, just wider than the Nook Touch itself, with a hinge at the top, with a magnetic clasp that can also be used to hold the front and back cover together as a stand when they're folded backward. The whole thing is light, compact, and protective--and not any harder to read in the case than out of it (plus, if you need a reading light, it's easier to clip it to the cover than to the Nook itself). You can even charge the device without opening the cover, though you do have to move the clasp aside.
This case must be discontinued, though, because now I can't find it on either the B&N or the Best Buy site.
I didn't like any cases available for the nst. Till I made one. What do you guys think?
Awesome. Went making such myself

Good work, very cool. Did you use a book, or some sort of journal? I have been wanting to do something like this, but do not have any books that I am willing to cut up.

It was a blank journal that was 5.75x7in. It was tight fit but I managed.
I searched far and wide for a case for my STR and I thought about getting a Speck FitFolio until I saw one in person in Target. Seemed too flimsy. Anyway, after a long search I found Oberon covers. Solid drum dyed tooled leather, about 3/16" thick. Not cardboard covered by a thin strip of 'leather'. They come in many designs and colors and cost about $15 more than a high priced B&N cover, which is OK, because I think it will last a lifetime.
I do not work for, nor am I affiliated with Oberon Designs. I'm just a very satisfied customer.
The oberon case looks familiar:
