1) At the HBOOT screen (volume down + power), what exactly does it say on the very top three lines?
2) When you go to recovery, what do you see? Does Clockworkmod load?

Thanks for answering,

Sorry missed this bit,no clockwork dosent load?

You should use the method described here to flash Clockworkmod onto the device: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14693680
However the version they provide on that post is outdated. You should instead download and use this Clockworkmod image file: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1279257 (extract the img file from the zip file first)
Once Clockworkmod is on the device you can install the ROM of your choice.

HTC One X+ plus - Rooting advice

Hello everyone
I hope someone can help me; I've been reading some topics on here about rooting but confused whether my phone can be rooted or not as I can't still post in the development area.
I have an HTC one x+ uk sim free and would like to root it, does anyone know any good tutorial that will help me with this?
All I did at the moment is backup using the adb command line, is the backup used through that command line a full backup? I'm asking this because if something goes wrong, will that backup me fully restore the device or i need a different type of backup?
Thank you
my phone is sim freem using hasoon's toolkit, which option should I use - I believe is TWRP but confused after reading the posts

Here is a tutorial that works with HOX+ Internation version and will root your phone easily. You just need to find a ROM to flash after you followed the steps in the tutorial. Hasoon2000 even made a video to show you.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1604439
I'm aware of the video and tutoral but was confused about the option twrp etc.
I used rootboot to root it and checked with root checker,it says is rooted
How do I make full image backup,if I'm not wrong the term is called creating a rom
When I used rom manager it doesn't let me do it,it says I need clockworkmod recovery and that there's no official version for my model. What can I do now to make a rom of my phone with everything
Thanks

I believe what you said is what I did
I rooted the phone using rootbot the phone was rooted after the process as I downloaded root checker and it displayed that my phone is rooted.
How exactly would I install the clockwork recovery?
I remember using the toolkit provided in the link you gave me but after the reboot the phone shows a read triangle with an exclamation mark.
Go to this link and just install recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34173694
It will defe etly work .

Thank you, my mistake was that I didn't flash recovery, sorry still not familiar with the terminology which is why many things sounds misleading to me.
After flashing with twrp recovery I did try the backup again and it worked, now I got the backup and I think that's all I need so far.
I'm good to go with installing full rom
does anyone know good roms for htc one x+ ?
Elegancia & InsertCoin & Maximus in development
I'm thinking of using the following rom
Android Revolution HD for HTC One X+
There's a topic about this rom but I didn't find any download link; can someone tell me where I can get all the roms and their links.
Also, now that I have a backup, if I install the rom and something goes wrong, by restoring the currenct image file that i've created using rom manager, will I get everything back, included settings, apps etc. right?

I followed Step 3 on these instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1426377 and managed to get root after running Clockworkmod on the SuperSU.zip file that was dropped in from the RecoveryInstallerForNoobs.zip file.

Go to Cyanogen Mod official website ... You can get a whole lot information there... !!! its is the only rom which is providing jellybean 4.1.2 on AMAZE 4g
Please read the "pinned" threads located at the top of the various forums. All of the info you seek is located there. The brief reader's digest version is as follows: You need to download and have a working adb setup. You also need some drivers from the HTC website. While there you need to register as a developer and follow the instructions. If followed correctly they'll give you a binary blob that you need to push to your phone from windows to unlock your bootloader. You'll still be s-on but unlocked. Then depending on which version of the amaze you have and which version of android is currently running on it there are different procedures for attaining s-off, which is a requirement if using a non-T-Mobile US device. After you've gotten those things in order you can begin flashing.
None of this is difficult, but it does require reading on your part, and nobody here is going to hold your hand, especially if they see you haven't made any effort by at least reading the instruction threads.
Just flash the SuperSU.zip file via recovery. For some customs roms, you won't need to root your phone before flashing, your phone will automatically get root access one you flash them. All you will need is having a custom recovery .

Actually you're not quite on point. Without unlocking your bootloader you can't flash a recovery and smartflash on 4ext doesn't work properly without a working busybox and superuser. So after unlocking and flashing or pushing a superuser apk you need to also install busybox too or smartflash can't write to the protected partitions.
I think everyone knows they cannot flash a custom recovery without unlocking the bootloader first.

LOL you'd be surprised what kind of questions get asked here and how often the same ones are repeated, especially in this forum where newbies can post until eligible for the other forums. Look and see how many threads and individual posts are here, the vast majority are the same basic questions asked over and over by those who've never bothered to read the information posts pinned to top of each forum.
You are right.

I want to s-off my htc amaze mobile set. can anybody give link to download HTC Amaze Hasoon2000 S-off All-in-one Toolkit 1.1 from the website? will be grateful.
You can't s~off the amaze with a tool kit, you have to use the wire trick using the joupunut bear program. No other way around it, check YouTube you'll find a video tutorial

[Q] Unlock bootloader

Hi.
I just got a new test device, HTC Legend (Europe version) which currently have the newest 3.15.405.3 RUU installed with hboot 1.01
I have been to htvdev.com and downloaded an hboot update in order to be able to unlock the boot loader. However, when I run their RUU, it says that my current ROM is not supported, although the RUU contains the same ROM version as the one that I have installed.
I need some way to unlock this thing, even if I have to some how downgrade hboot in order to get full S-Off using some of the old cracks.
Can anyone help get this thing cracked open, either the htcdev way or some other way. I just need to be able to get a recovery on this thing and some CM ROM.
I have already tried talking to some HTC support people, but they did not know anything.
No questions in development!

I am aware of the rules (Have been around for some time). Properly just clicked on the wrong link, no harm ment, but since you was kind enough to report it, an admin can move it to the correct location.
Yes, I can see you've been around for a long time,
So, lets direct you try blay0's method by extracting the Rom.zip from the ruu and try the LEGEIMG.ZIP
There is a thread in legend some where with the title simular to "legend is free" you should find blay0's post some where, can't post a link right now, sorry...

Thanks I found it, but not working on this one. It does not find LEGEIMG.zip although it is placed in the root of the sdcard
EDIT:
It worked after I created a Goldcard. Now it found the ZIP, it asked to update which it did successfully and the htcdev.com unlock method now worked like a charm. Just to bad that there is no way to downgrade hboot to 0.43 in order to gain real S-Off, but at least it is unlocked now, so thanks

Ruu download always corrupt

Hi,
Im trying to download RUU's from the link provided on this site but each time I try to extract the ROM some of the files are always corrupted.
Can anyone tell me what Im doing wrong?
Cheers
Don't extract, just launch it.
Sent from my HTC One X+ using Tapatalk 4 Beta
What do you mean just run it mate?
Every site I read says locate the Rom file on boot and extract recovery and boot images them flash?
That is for when you download custom rims. Ruu is an exe file which needs to be run via windows, when you have your phone plugged in.
Make sure you have locked your bootloader before running the file or you will receive an error. Or if you have never unlocked your bootloader then just run the file, follow instructions and wait for the process to finish
Cheers

Yes, but be sure to lock your bootloader first.

Rooted and custom rom >> to stock?

I managed to unlock the bootloader and install a custom rom about 6 months ago
Think it was andriod revolution hd 6.5
I don't think I backed up the stock ROM?
Could someone explain if its possible to get the phone back to a out of the box state??
Thanks
Download and run the RUU for your device.
p.s. these type of things go in Q&A
Sent from my HTC One X+ using Tapatalk 4
Hello,
I've done that yesterday
First you need to flash a stock recovery, then install the ruu corresponding to your device. And you need to relocked the bootloader.
By this way, you will be able to get futur ota update.
