Just be warned, I have just started flashing roms and it is getting addictive.
I tried T.E.A.M v 4 first and really liked it, and am now trying ThGo 13 - first impression is it is excellent!
Make good use of titanium backup and do lots of nandroid backups from xrecovery - if you don't you will regret it!
Most of all, enjoy!
yeah i also just flashed ThGo2_v13.0. Now im wondering what can i do from here? Any suggestions? Thanks buddy.

ThGo_v14.0d?
Tried it but didn't sit comfy.
Will let it mature a little......
Wolfbreak's, ThGo v.13/14 and DonutHD has been the greatest down here.
@OP:
If you have rooted you may as well unlock the bootloader then flash DooMKernel, it would take it to another level =D

It's quite easy actally, all you need to have is the latest flashtool, an X10 which is on any stock firmware + kernel.
1. Just root your phone (which you have done)
2. Go to plugins---->unlock X10

It has built in recovery ( both cwm & xrec) as well as bootmanager. Depending on which version u select u can overclock/underclock processing power for performance/battery life (also MANY scaling governors on this kernel) few other nice tweaks also and it provides good battery life (also, little off topic, the boot logo is top picture) I would certainly recommend it pal.

I also recommend Feralab, it is awesome. I've tried a few rom's and this is my favorite.
I will recommend Wolfsbreak ROM.
First try stock 2.3.3,its most complete and most stable version.

Hey guys,
i was trying to deodex my 2.51.1 rom, but didn't work as expected.. don't have so much time :=) because an exam has to be taken on monday so:
short :=)
If you don't want to deodex, but want a black status, u don't want to flash a whole custom image, loosing all your apps? You want to have a "normal looking" menu button - menu :=) and you're running 2.51.1 latest blur version? -> you're right here
requirements:
running un-touched 2.51.1 blur image
root
todo:
- just install clockwork recovery image (don't wipe or clean anything)
Clockwork Recovery - get here
- just flash the BlueGinger Theme [Release] BlueGinger 2.3 UI ROM for Defy
everything done - black status bar :=) everything working as expected
(i read in the original thread some button should be in chineese, haven't seen anything yet :=) so, works great )
"problems:"
notification area now in english^^(came from german)
root explorer contained in rom in chineese
-> no real problems :=)
ps: AW == Answer ;=)
pps: no beer needed ;=) doing for contributing - thanks to u guys
Hey you !
many many thanks ! worked like a charm !
And the best of it, i get rid of the default red colour !!!! oh yeah!
The only Problem was to find the clockwork recovery image thing.
Found it on another forum. The only thing that's not so good is that my notification area is now in english. But that is not so bad.
thanks for the info, added the link :=)

This worked yeah but wont leave your phone as stock as seemED suggested by crazyVII .First off livewallpapers no longer work even after reinstalling the 2 apk's for them.File manager is gone, gomarket is added.And most of the rom is from the chinese version
I would swap out some/all of the apk's before flashing this next time.Shouldnt you be able to just isolate the files modded for the black bar? have no idea which files but would be better to just add those to your existing rom.
nice job man works great

Thanks for your kind words. I have removed only 5 apps right now, Mcafee security suite and some Champions leage apps.
I had originally removed loads of bloatware but i must have removed something crucial because after flashing the ROM i couldnt use the camera key and the home softkey.... Weird eh? I will have to do lots of trial and error removing one app at a time. For now i just shared it to recieve some feedback regarding stability, speed, and battery life compared to the stock rom.

As i do not have the Mini myself I cannot guarantee that i will go further than my knowledge as of now. Its the first Rom i have made, and I want to keep a close eye on what i make. Maybe someone who has a mini can port it, and can use the Krsh Kernel. They are almost identical, only built for another device.

hi mate....... is it possible to bake rom with no bloatware at all? really tired of this se crap........but not ready to switch cyanogen yet.........thanx a lot
after a few days of use, this rom feels slow, I didn't tinker with the default overclock options, but there are some freezes, the phone seems to struggles.
It didn't feel that way with the stock rom.
I'm going to flash the stock rom back, and just get rid of the bloatware.
You should set the OC options with the OC UV beater, because the phone is set to work at 900mhz instead of 800.
Also it could be cause of the Kernel. Try stock kernel.
Update 17/12/11
Removed all bloatware, only left what is needed.
Switched to Arc Launcher.
No need to flash the new boot.img it wouldnt allow me to cook the rom without it.
hi mate . thanx a lot for developing this rom.....could you please write down step by step guide ....thanx
its on the first post.
Hows the over all performance? Is the arc homescreen much better than the active's?

I'm really thinking into unlocking the bootloader and flashing custom ROM. The official update is nice, but I think the ROMs here will be better.
I am using KRsH kernel and I also have same problem - 52% of battery drain cause Android OS. Synchro Off, Wifi On.
Cyanogenmod is the only solution

I have the same problem. Did a full wipe and format the sd card, but after installing a few apps, there is the problem with "android os" using the most of battery. Over night in airplane mode my phone need ca. 45% of battery. Hope someone have an idea, i dont want to loose the garanty.

I had the same problem. For me, wiping all the recently used apps away did the trick.It seems to me, that the recently used apps are still working somehow in the background to ease with multi-tasking, even tough I closed them and am using a taskkilller, seems weird, but facts are facts. I went form a day and a half of light use to three and a have days of light use. By light use I mean, occasional gaming and some surfing with wifi. Hope this helps anyone!

What about kernel? You will release 3.0.8 for JB or still 2.6...?
In first post on screenshots there is no kernel 3.0.8 and I'm wandering if you will build it for your rom.
BTW. Great job with CM10! Can't wait for install on my device! and something new will be to mod (apks).
THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!!!
Nice! will you make it for LwW too or we can copy the files from MCMS Lite?
May i share this link on reddit?

No. It will not work on locked bootloader as you will need a kernel different from the two kernels Sony released for our phones till date. And for a custom kernel you need bootloader unlocked.

Hi. I just wanted to ask a few questions. Is there an easy way to unlock BL? Like one click button to unlock? Or another way besides using the flashtool? I'm using rooted x10i 2.3.3. remember unlocking bootloader is only optional. Stock based custom roms and kernels work with locked bootloader.
If you want to unlock bootloader, you will find a good guide here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928343
Also no need to install xrecovery if you unlock bootloader. Just flash any custom kernel for unlocked bootloader
thanks again and sorry that im talkin weird, the thing is i already have a (great) stock based rom. But it is gingerbread and in future i need a ics and i CANT get one with locked bootloader
