How do I get better battery life? - HTC EVO 3D

I'm using the latest leedroid rom but the battery life is kinda bad. How can I make it better?

Hello...does anyone know?

you need to calibrate your battery by fully charging your phone without taking it off charger. let it die without plugging it in at all. when its dead fully charge again. remember don't pull the charger off. it should be giving better battery life after that. I usually do mine a couple more times for the hell of it.

Does that really work?

Turn off Wifi, BT, data, and kill apps. Look into juice defender to help with your battery power.

yes it does. calibrating by "wiping battery stats" doesn't do ****. but calibrating by charging and killing does. its the only way I know of to actually calibrate a battery. I have significantly longer life in both my epic touch 4g and my evo 3d.

also you can check which apps are killing your battery. if your battery life is horrible you may have a rogue app. try using betterbatterystats and cpu spy.

I've never noticed it to give me better battery life. What I do is carry extra stock sized batteries with me if I know I will be away from a charger for a long time.

Lol battery stat wipe sometimes is needed if you flash a rom and it shows 99% with a green light as a full charge...
Once your phone hits 100% unplug it and let it die make sure fastboot is off and let it drop dead then let if fully charge

This has given me very good results with all phones I've had:
Get Juice Defender Ultimate from the market and follow the settings from this post:
http://androidforums.com/nexus-s-4g/413550-juicedefender-ultimate-settings.html#post3403944
I assure you you'll see wonders with your battery.
Props to mistermetaphor over at AF for the settings.

Problem charging battery

I have only had my evo 3d for 4 day's now rooted and s-off but never been able to achieve full charge yet
I always seem to get between 95% - 99% does anyone else have this problem?
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using xda premium
It's normal.

Yep, normal. The first few times I charged my phone, it would sit at 99% for hours and hours, then finally go to 100.
Thanks guys thought I'd just got a dud battery

if you want to fix that issue, turn it off, charge it till light turns green, turn it on.
just run a few battery cycles man. it is perfectly normal.

It will charge up to 99 the go down to 95 then back up to 99. It will be like that to protect your battery.

This is the first phone that I've had that does this so for me it is strange to see

Your battery will charge to 100%. When it reaches 99% just unplug it and plug it in again.
#Root-Hack\Mod*Always_
""Shooter on Deck""
its normal in every phone.electronic devices. the 1-2% are reserved in case user unplugs power before 100% is reached.you will see 100% if u charge overnight or turn the device off-charge until green and then turn on and charge again until green--bam!100%
The og evo used to do this but instead of reporting the battery percentage dropping it would report 100% no matter what. Its a huge problem if you have a bad charging cable cause it'll sit there at 100% till it kills the battery to zero.

[Q] Battery Drain Problem

I have a GSM EVO 3D running mwakious ROM v9.0
ROM works perfectly with goog battery life, however on certain rare occasions, battery drains really quickly and jumps from battery percentages(ie 90% - 86% - 83% etc) until i restart the phone.
I have already done battery calibration at 100%
This has happened in a few of the previous roms that i have used and the battery usage screen doesnt show what is using it.
I downloaded better battery stats, but do not know how to use it
(however in the process section it shows mediaserver at the top of the ordered list.
I am using the ondemand cpu governor
What is causing this????
You could try Bad Ass battery Monitor. It is a little more user friendly.
Sent from my ICS 3VO with Tapatalk 2
Downloaded Badass battery Monitor and it shows the main consumer of the battery is system(*wakelock*).
When i click on that it shows
Included Processes
*wakelock*
mediaserver
So does everyone else have the same consumer or is it just me, and if i can, how do i stop this?
Found out what mediaserver process is, deleted my media to see if it solves problem

Could someone please help me out?

I really want to get a evo but I'm worried about the battery life. I do 2 things on a smartphone:
-Listen to music
-browse the web
I do this non stop until the battery runs out. Can someone tell me what battery life/ screen time you get when doing this.

In my experience the battery life on the EVO LTE is great, but it varies more than other phones I've used, based on how I use it. graphics-intensive games and other apps that keep the screen on and run the processor at the same time use it the most. You can do plenty of web browsing provided you keep the screen brightness halfway down, I use the automatic setting and don't notice much battery drain when browsing, but if you turn the brightness to it's highest setting you'll definitely notice more battery drain. I love the 4.7" screen but there's no way a screen that big isn't going to draw a lot of power with the backlight turned up. As for streaming music, that's no problem. I've listened to pandora for hours at a time with the screen off and only seen single-digit drops in battery percentage.
bro i thought the same thing cause u cant remove the battery.. but let me tell u i get great battery life out this phone... i had the og evo and the evo 3d.. and now evo lte.. this phone kicks major a$$!!!!!!

Battery life tops most cells I have ever owned.. LTE 4 g not as stable for some compared to other comparible cells but you didn't state that as requirement..
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
I use mine heavily for many graphics and radio intensive applications, and routinely get 14 or more hours on a charge. GPS is the one thing that will drop me below that. My brother has a galaxy s3 and gets much less.
I use meanrom, overclocked.

I for one think that the battery life sucks on this phone. But I only can compare to the phone i had before the droid x from verizon, I could go 24 hours on the droid x but on the evo I get around 16 on normal everyday usage. now suppose I came from the evo or evo 3d phones and had a phone with that drained the power off the phone then I would be saying this phones battery rocks.
but with that all being said 16 hours on a smart phone really is not that bad.

Battery life issue

Ok so since I had my phone I noticed the battery drained while being Charged...
And my phone tells me its drawing to much power from the charger to charge my phone more than it should. I do use my phone as its charging but I'm mainly texting nothing else..I'm
S-off on viper LTE Rom latest fw and latest radio ... I'm not sure if its just my phone or my charger ...
I had the same problem.... Switch chargers and you will be good.

Battery Charge/discharge Curve

Folks,
Attached is a graph of my Amaze's battery cycle. The discharge curve is for a normal to heavy use and charging curve. The right side shows charging straight to full using AC wall charger. The battery charges to about 70% pretty quickly, maybe within 1.5 hr but then as you see in the graph it takes another 2 hrs to go to 100%. Is this normal? I have a Galaxy Nexus with same age battery (2 yr old) running cyanogenmod 11, it's battery charges full in less than 2 hr and the charging curve is pretty much steep all the way to full, without slowing down for the last 30%. Any thoughts?
Cheers

Interesting thing, after waiting to get full charge at 80% if I reboot into recovery, it shows full battery. See the attached screen shot, after rebooting at 80% it has jumped to 100%.

The best way to charge is to pull the battery and then plug in. Test how long it takes to charge from there

Thanks, I presume you suggest charging without turning it on then?.

Yes, and pulling the battery makes sure it's fully off. Some Roms enable fastboot by default so when you think you shut off your phone it's still on.
