[Q] XDA app not working - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

The app for this forum will not work with my prime. Anyone else having this issue? Also the browser is so slow on this. What's the best browser to use with an ics tablet?

I'm having the same problem with mine. Force closes all the time. It gets worse if you're signed in, for some reason.

The free version doesn't work. You need to buy the premium version. It works great. If you don't want to pay, then just use browser. IMO browser best anyways.

Same. The app is pretty bad on all tablets that I have tried. They need to make a version that is optimized for tablets.

Sirius/XM app

The battery in my phone (Epic 4g touch) died last night listening to Sirius while waiting at the dentist. Luckily I had my tp and mobile hotspot with me. I hopped on the market to grab the app and low and behold it was not there. What gives? Why are some apps available for certain devices and not others? Would copying the .apk from my phone to the /system/apps folder work? My tp is not rooted (yet) and up to date with all teh firmware.
Can't believe that app is not supported, really bullsh*t if you asked me. Give this app a try: https://market.android.com/details?...t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImFpci5TaXJpdXNYTWZsYXNoIl0. It apparently opens the flash login page in your browser.
Ya wont work on the Transformer, you have to use the one that goes thru the internet browser, sucks for sure

Wow that app had a lot of bad reviews. It's really a shame the app isn't available. Why would this app be available for my galaxy s2 but not for this device? Aside from resolution would it really be coded differently?
SiriusXM 2.0 app
Just installed on my Transformer TF101 and it works fine. IDK if it works with Canadian accounts.

I just updated the siriusxm app and now it works. It says v 2.00 in the corner just like d2kplus said. My prime is rooted and running stock. I copied the app from my phone to my sd card since i could not find it in the market.

Chrome Browser

Go to the Market and search Chrome Beta if you want to try. Its only for ICS devices right now
Beat 'cha
This sounds awesome. Is it any good or is it buggy like most BETAs?

can i sync it with the Chrome Browser on my pc?
I'm using it now, it's awesome. No flash support currently though.
I'm using it now,no flash support yet, it seems fast but when i scroll down fast there is a lot of unloaded stuff or takes a sec to show. It doesn't seem as fast as stock at least to me so far well see as i play with it more. It does sync with your desktop.
I don't think it's gonna get Flash either, adobe's not developing it for mobile browsers anymore. Don't know if a 3rd party dev can do anything about that though.
Not available for Finland.

But the implementation of Flash would be Google's doing. Not Adobe's.
Right, Adobe's done updating. But mobile flash is already here. It's all about the browser taking Flash into account, as opposed to Flash supporting a browser isn't it?

Cheers for that!
When I want to download it, the market says it is incompatible?!
I'm liking it on my Prime. Very nice, similar to the desktop experience. Not sure, aside from the synching what is that different, but I haven't looked into it too much yet.

Check the requirements.
Do you have ICS?
Adobe already made an official statement and said Flash will not be in Android Chrome browser. Link to info is in the other thread on chrome browser.
Still needs a lot of work. At the moment it is slower than other browsers, doesn't allow you to change user agent and like mentioned, no flash. I was hoping they would have had addon support from the beginning too.
Pain to get to bookmarks. But I'm sure I'm missing something.

It absolutely makes no sense why non-US Prime's cannot get access to Chrome Beta. No sense whatsoever. Android 4.0 has adoption rate of 1% on the market anyway, out of this only fraction would try out Chrome Beta.
I would love to have Chrome downloaded from Market so it could get future updates without having to chase down APK's each time.
This is frustrating. But hey, at least we now have Chrome on Android.

Best Browser for JB Rom?

Chrome can't use flash so that's a downside.
i used to love Boat browser, but not impressed with recent updates.
Stock browser is so so.
What are you preferring?
Dolphin HD is nice and quick but I believe it also only uses HTML5, no flash.

Thanks...been a while since I tried Dolphin...always felt it was a little 'heavy' on the system of this aging beast of ours!
Really hope the guys at Boat Browser fix their stuff.....it was an amazing browser, but recently I've found it to be really laggy and when you pinch zoom it causes the entire page to refresh, or doesn't focus on the area you wanted to zoom on, so you then have to zoom out again to find what you were looking for. Kinda broken.
You pretty much covered them all. Opera is very fast to me, but on JB it doesn't detect flash by default. Although it does play HTML5 videos. At some point you will have to let it (Flash) go.
I saw a browser (don't remember the name) in xda news the other day. It looked ugly but is supposed to be really fast.

try naked browser, it's available on the play store. its very smooth and fast

Think that might be it.
I just DL holobrowser, seems quick and supports flash.

was it Miren, Xscope or Maxthon?
I used Mirren for a while with success until Boat came along and blew me away.....recently they have really let things slide IMO.

Might try this. I like Flash.
EDIT:
I can't find this when I search in the market? Tried searching "Holo Browser" Holobrowser" Holo Web" etc.
Can you send me a link?
I use boat browser , it's the best, simple fast and comfortable
Here you go, its holoweb browser
The other one was naked browser.

Gracias....this is a nice Browser.
Holo is really fast and it supports flash. It's the fastest that I've used and I like it, there are a few bugs that I don't like though. I'd recommend trying it out for sure and deciding yourself. If there is something you really don't like you can message the innovator of it on the forms. I say innovator because it's just a spinoff of tint apparently.

[Q] XDA and Google Chrome

Is anyone else having issues with XDA's site loading in Google Chrome? For the past few days I have had to use Explorer to get the web page to load without force closing.

Yes, I've had the issue on multiple machines. Sometimes it works just fine then it'll lock up and I have to close the tab and relaunch it.

I don't use the app because it's easier to read/reply on the web. Plus it makes it look like I'm working

Funny! Yes, can't exactly have your face in your phone too often while working.
I wonder what the issue is? This has only been a recent problem but I'm willing to bet it's on the Google Chrome side of it. Never had issues in the past.
mine hangs on when launching the site sometimes, I've noticed the same thing happens with droid-life occasionally too. Could be an issue with an ad loading.
Site has been having technical difficulties also causing extreme slow downs in the mobile apps.
Also questions go in Q&A

I can certainly post some. I'm at work currently and my N9 is at home.
I'll get them up in a couple of hours.
Here ya go.
Same.... Not getting chrome multitask integration... Only one instance of chrome even with 3,4 website pages open
Sent from my Nexus 9 using XDA Free mobile app
@Scotlac. I'm pretty sure that's not what the op was referring to. He is looking for the feature they advertised at Google I/O where each tab would show up as its own card in the multitasking view. As near as I can tell, that feature has not yet come to fruition, and hopefully is just around the corner.
Ahh, I was not aware of that feature. Thanks Wolf!
I believe it is only enabled for phones.
On a tablet you have direct access to all open tabs in chrome anyway. I think they tested it and thought that it doesnt make things faster or easier.
Let's say you have opened up 10 pages. You would see 10 added entries to your recent apps mixed with all other apps you would take some time to find a specific chrome tab. Just hitting the one chrome instance you see in the current implementatiton and then in chrome select the correct tab seems easier to me. On a phone where you can not see the tabs in chrome without a click it's differernt.
But yes, they should have made it an option.
I read somewhere on g+ that is a setting that had to be enabled.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
Nope, I don't think its enabled for phones either. I have yet to see it with any build I've tried on my Nexus 5.
The chrome build on my tablet will will give you the option if you set the LCD density to the same as the nexus 5. I'm not a fan of this feature, but I'm sure someone can hack chrome to make this work. Just needs to be decompiled and forced to phone mode. With DPI like this tablet is unusable(well, usable just horrible looking) I just wanted to see if the functionality was in chrome and it is. I don't have time to mess with it right now, maybe in the future if no one gets on it.
(This is on my nexus 9)
yea i guess its not enabled for tablets. i have it on my nexus 5 running latest lollipop preview and its amazing. i think they should have it integrated into tablets AND still let you see the tabs one BOTH tablets and phones. I loved the system of pulling down in chrome to see tabs, and i think this new system could accompany it nicely. i dont see why they got rid of one for the other, and tablets are just stuck with old fashion tabs
