We'll get it but I wouldn't expect it right away, as we will probably have to wait a few weeks at a minimum for permanent root and s-off. In fact, everyone should prepare themselves to be patient for that.
My updrade date is on feb. 10th so I pray this phone drops on v day

I am looking forward to the Thunderbolt and loading CM7 onto it ASAP
Coming from a Moto Droid1 I really hope to see CyanogenMod. I will miss everything about it.
Guys if there is one thing that I can almost 100% guarantee is that this phone is a htc. And it WILL, WOUTHOUT A SHADOW OF A DOUBT, get CM. Unless this just happens to be the first htc phone in the history of the world, that has a locked bootloader. But I doubt that. One of the only issues I forsee is with CM is that LTE will not work with it seeing as how they just now got WiMax support for the EVO and its not a new phone by any means.

I can't wait for real Android flexibility!! Goodbye Droid X, you will not be missed. Lol

i really hope to see miui on this thunderbolt!!! that would be excellent. cm is overrated
I preordered at BB yesterday, and I can't wait for this phone! I am running CM7 on my inc and have been since it was available, so I am more than willing to do any beta testing needed to bring CM7 to the TB
The only problem is if your lucky enough to live in a 4g area. Cm will not support 4g

What exactly is the reason CM7 can't do 4g? Also what happens if I am on 3g and go into a 4g zone? Will the phone crash? i would assume that if CM came to the Thunderbolt, it would have to be 4g compatible by definition so it shouldn't be a problem

Aosp is built from source so it does not include the 4g drivers
They are imbedded into the sense framework so it has to be reverse engineered like with the evo

While it's true CM builds from source, we don't know for sure that the LTE drivers will be built into Sense in the same way WiMAX was. Absent other information we may want to assume so, but I think we'll have to wait and see.
This is good information to know. I've been running all the cm7 builds on my DI since they started. I told a friend of mine once there was root, cm7 be on my TB. guess we'll all finds out.

Accourding to a tweet that I got back from Cyanogen, Qualcom has released the userspace code for LTE support, so if HTC doesn't F it up there shouldn't be a problem.
Is there a way to get 4G/WIMAX
working in the MIUI ROM for HTC EVO 3D???
yes but I refuse to release the source code that I made to get it working. I shall go to my grave with it.

it requires reverse engineering from sense, since wimax is closed source, it makes this VERY difficult. I hope that team win will be able to do this like they did for the evo4G, but for now, I can run miui on 3G, it's just as elegant

Great answer above, couldn't have said it better myself!
Same logic applies to 3D as it does to 4G support. HTC closed source code and requires reverse engineering.
As soon as 4G and/or 3D are reversed and supported this will probably occur with relation to CM, MIUI should quickly use the same files/code to add into their ROM.
Would watch for support in CM as this should be an early indicator as to the status of support in MIUI.

Evo4g doesn't have 4g I know this cuz I'm running miui on my evo 4g right now. Unless you ment the thunderbold. Those guys have LTE working on miui Rom. dont know how they did it but dam they are geniuses
Don't wait for our Rom to get 4g anytime soon its like finding a piece of hay in an ocean of needles

EVO 4G has 4G support in CM. I thought I remember hearing MIUI used the CM code for 4G support on the EVO 4G but perhaps they haven't. Either way, once CM supports 4G and 3D, MIUI will technically be able to as CM open sources all their code and is based on AOSP which MIUI also states they are based on.
Hope that helps!

With the new leak of the ics for nexus s 4G out and about. Will this give us any more insight to 4G for our non sense built roms?

First thing which comes to mind is Samsung implemented WiMAX differently than HTC. The 4G leak for ICS on the Nexus S 4G will help the epic touch 4g community port WiMAX to AOSP much more than it will help HTC's implementation.
In an effort to remain optimistic, I'm sure the leak will help, but it will definitely help the epic touch 4g much more as they're on a Samsung implementation of WiMAX.
Hope that helps!
Any help is appreciated. And thankyou very much for the reply kind sir. Btw joeykrim ftw.
Hey everyone, if you can't tell but the title, I have a gsm EVO 3D and I am just curious why gsm doesn't have a working cm 9 or aopk camera but cdma does? Just curious and I am not slamming any devs, I envy there work, simply curious.
I have reading a lot about porting do you think if I ported a cdma to gsm cam would work?

Well I think agrabren, the developer who brought cm9 w/ working camera, stated he has a working gsm build that he is going to release soon. Just take a look at his cm9 thread in the dev section (before all of the gpl bs) and you should find his post stating just that.

AOKP is in version 39 now, is there any official announcement when a working camera working be provided for the GSM variant? I feel like i've bought (once more) a device that always will have lesser support. My mind does not like that thought at all...
GSM users have very difficult camera issues because of 5*2 vs 5*5 cameras. Agraben explains it better in the cm9 teamevo thread in the GSM development forum.

I too hope they are able to get the 5*2 camera working...I would really like to have CM9 as my daily! I had the build from 6/17 installed and it was really fast but the camera was disabled so I have to stop using it :/
Does anyone know if developers will ever get 4g to work on Sense 4 based roms for the Evo 3D?
