Where's my water ?? - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Themes and Apps

I bought this game around 1 month ago. It was a great game i love it very much.
But now I cant find it in my tab's market anymore and when I use web android market it show that it's no longer supported for galaxy tab 10.1.
Anyone played this game and encounter this problem ? Thanks.

It's still on the Amazon Appstore as the #1 game as of yesterday.

Working and updating ok on my tab

This seems to be affecting many varieties of tablet.... I'm wondering if it's to do with the new requirement for WAP access, which I assume wouldn't be available on wifi only tablets. I came upon another thread discussing the WAP issue, where the game developers had replied and said that those permissions were getting removed again, and I've mentioned the tablet compatibility problem there. The thread is:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22039480&posted=1#post22039480

I am using wifi+3G version P7500 tab. so i guess is not the problem. does it have anything to do with updating market in my tab??
is there anyway to fake market into other device ?

I don't think you can fake it unless your device is rooted. I also don't think your market update is the problem, since you see the same error going via the website.
A developer replied to my post on the other thread and said WAP permissions required actual telephony hardware, and that this was causing the problems with some tablets, so it may not matter so much about 3G versus wifi, perhaps it's more to do with whether your device identifies itself to the market as phone or tablet.
For that reason, and also because of the timing of when you first had issues, I would still suspect the latest app update is causing your problem, rather than anything you've changed on the tablet. I'd wait and see if the next update fixes it before you try anything too drastic.

In case you aren't following the other thread... The new update has been released and I can confirm it works fine on my Acer Iconia, so if WAP permissions were causing your problem, hopefully yours should work now too. Good luck!

yup.. it is working now.. i even bought the cranky story.. but it is kinda weird the free version still show not supported ...

Yeah, the free version still has WAP in its permissions, don't know whether it's intentional or another mistake.
Suppose most people with Android tablets have Android phones too, so will end up like myself...trying the free one on the phone and then getting the full one for their tablet.

cideko simple box

I recently got my hands on a quite interesting device, a cideko simple box.
Just for the sake of it, I'd like to hack it, and maybe even get a custom rom on it.
It's basically a set-up-multimedia-thingy-box for a TV running android, and it's pretty damn cheap.
Using adb via TCP/IP I was already able to connect and also get a rootshell (yay!)
However, it seems like no firmware files/instructions how to flash are available by the manufacturer (nay!)... I already asked them nicely, let's see what I get back.
You can find the adb bugreport output here if you're curious.
Anyone wants to help?
Florian
Saw this hardware before. 600Mhz, no openGL or any accelleration for games, nothing.
It does play back media files, but that's about it.
Very low-end chipset from Skyviia.. ARMv5TEJ at ~228 bogomips is pretty bad.
Does it support the install of apk files from USB? and does it allow flash on websites?

Did you manage to customise your Simplebox? I bought one and the description said "Install Apps and games via the built in SD card slot (APK files)" but I can't find anything in the manual.

I have one too. I like the device and the air keyboard, plus it was pretty cheap. I was really pleased that SMB/CIFS support worked out of the box and witha few other things, but thats where it stops. The software included is the let down, not the machine itself. Video playback is out of sync 99% of the time until you fast forward and/or rewind then it magically syncs up again, only 1 CIFS connection at a time, the vast majority of apps will not install and those that do fail to run, the video software displays long file names in such a way, that you cannot determine which file is which, etc. I sent Cideko an email asking them to pretty please provide a new update addressing these issues, but I heard nothing back and I sent it months ago.
The picture is good, the device is unobtrusive and if you rename your file appropriately then it is a bearable media streamer, but it could have been the best little cheap media box ever with just a little care and attention. Disappointing that no one is interested in improving it.

OnLive DESKTOP!

Better word/excel processor, free for now, try it out
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.onlive.desktop
It isn`t available for my prime in market
Not available in my country (Norway)
MarketEnabler solved the availability
So its better than splashtop?

I was just reading about this from last week. I haven't used it yet, but it's a free virtualized Windows desktop from what I understand. Meaning it's essentially just like Splashtop in that you will have a Windows environment, however you don't need to provide the endstation you're connecting to like Splashtop- they create a virtual one on their servers. How much you can install on it or how long the sessions persist, etc, I haven't figured out since I haven't used it, but ideally this would give you free access to the Office Suite from anywhere for creating docs...
Anyway, like I said that's my understanding w/out having used it. Off to try it now
EDIT: Anyone getting it to work? I created an account, and when I try to log into the app, I get stuck at a "Connecting" hourglass...
Working super well on my Prime. Just upgraded to the $4.99/month plus version (Using it to post this - much better experience than splashtop for me.
not working for me :/ telling me my internet isn't high quality enough, even though I am on Fios, with 27000kbps download, so I dont see a problem.
Can you use Firefox or do you have to use Internet Explorer?

how did you install it on a prime?
same with me, says "Network Test Failed: OnLive was unable to complete an iInternet connection test. This might be caused by your router or firewall blocking certain internet traffic."
Tried this at work/home networks and tethered to my phone. No dice with all options
It's working super fast on my Prime, but I was let down when my keyboard dock didn't work. You have to use a built-in keyboard from their VM. I suppose I should have expected it, but I was looking forward to using a fully-fledged word processor with my Prime's keyboard.
Too bad.
Thought Id try this out, works great on my prime with flash and the browsing is amazing.
Definitely worth the extra and has increased what the prime with its dock can do.
Have to say that this kicks ass for a free service. Wonder how they support it considering I haven't seen any advertising yet.

My keyboard dock is working. Restart it and try again.
My keyboard works fine also. Is there a way to download programs? I don't think there is, but that would be awesome
Could someone post the .apk. It's not available yet in the Netherlands.
Thanks in advance

Don't forget to registrate (free) on the website of desktop.onlive.com, otherwise you cannot log in.
Cheers
Not working for me
It's not working for me either. I sideloaded the app on my prime.
It tells my my connection isn't good enough, which is strange considering I can run Onlive just fine.
Anyone got a workaround?

Archos 80 Titanium WiFi Issue

Hi all,
I recently purchased the archos 80 titanium and have found the WiFi seems to be terrible regarding signal strength and also download speeds when connected to a network, I downloaded the new upgrade that was suggested when I first started the device but this seems to of done nothing, does anyone else have this issue or know of any possible solutions to rectify the issue? I've emailed there tech support but I can imagine there response to the issue when I get 1 that is, that it will be an error at my end and not there's!

I have the same issue (seems to be a known issue looking online) but it seems to be better or worse depending on the access point I use.
I have a Plusnet router at home and it was pretty bad with that but I plugged in a D-Link access point in another room and it seems to like that better. When I'm at work I use a Meraki and works well with that too.
I think it seems to be very fussy with access points. I hope they do release an update for the WiFi drivers or something to give it some extra juice!
It's a shame really as the tablet does actually have the potential to be good, I've come to realise that I don't think it's really a software/firmware issue I just think the WiFi receiver's that are in the tablet are of a poor quality but then again I could be wrong just wish they would release some information of a new firmware and what there suggesting the new firmware would be updating to see if there ever planning on addressing the issue.

I'm going to buy it, is this still a problem after the new update?
thanks a lot!

Nook Tablet for camera monitor?

Hi,
Have not used my Nook Tablet recently because have newer hardware.
Recently saw "Use An Android Tablet as a Live Monitor for your DSLR Camera" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnzkHegu3aA and hope can do this with my Nook Tablet 16GB.
Searched the forum and then YouTube using Nook Tablet for camera monitor but to date have found nothing.
Hope someone else has interest in doing this.
Thanks
Ken
A search through the forum for "USB Host" seems to indicate that while many people over the years have coveted this capability, it has never been implemented on the NT.
That said, there are some DSLR cameras that use direct WiFi to communicate with Android devices and can display what they see on the tablet screen (not to mention accept remote commands from the device). These apps run just fine on the NT.
nmyshkin,
"there are some DSLR cameras that use direct WiFi to communicate with Android devices and can display what they see on the tablet screen (not to mention accept remote commands from the device). These apps run just fine on the NT" Unfortunately my cameras do not have WiFi.
Thanks for the tip about "USB Host" somehow my searches never picked it up. Redid the search using Nook tablet USB Host and got a Lot of Hits! Also Googled and got > 111K hits!!!
Clarification: Is the reason it has never been implemented on the NT a Hardware or a Software problem?
Googled and found [Q] USB Host/OTG mode for peripherals? https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1546363
Answer by tobdaryl "From what I have read this is not possible yet but is being looked at by at least Team B. Others may also be working on this but it holds lesser value till the more important things to everyday operation on internal hardware has been conquered" it sounds like a Software problem.
Beginners question, if it is a Software problem can it be corrected by installing a newer version of Android?
Thanks for your help!!!

It has to be patched into the OS by someone (if the hardware even allows for it). That funky USB connection on the NT may also cause issues, not sure.
But yes, it's maybe both, certainly at least non-existent code in the OS. I looked at my tablet running AOSP 7.0 and I only saw one mention of USB Audio in the Settings section. That's a typical USB Host application (I use it on my NST--there developers wrote new code patches to enable USB Host). Just for the heck of it and because I have all the hardware, I attached an OTG cable and a USB Audio device to my NT.
Nada. Generally there has to be a setting to enable USB Host because power input/output has to be changed, drivers added, among other things. The setting I found on my NT is probably just there like "camera" and "bluetooth" are there. They don't do anything but it was easier to just let them be than to take them out and try to trace all the threads that might unravel if they were removed.
So I think the answer is still that no one ever got around to looking at it seriously, or someone did once and found the hardware was an issue.
Sorry
nmyshkin,
Thanks for checking!!! My gut feeling now it is a Hardware Problem.
Any suggestions as to uses for the NT since the hardware is so old?
Ken

Beginners Question: Are you now running Android Open Source Project 7.0 on it?
Did you ever do any baseline speed tests with original NT OS and your later OSes?

I am running AOSP 7.0 (see https://forum.xda-developers.com/nook-tablet/general/how-to-installing-aosp-android-7-0-t3578665) and it performs flawlessly for me. No FCs, no freezes, no funny business. It's the best ROM I've run on the tablet (I never ran the stock).
Back when I was running CM 10.2.1 I did an AnTuTu test because someone asked about the speed of the system (which I thought was "fine"). I've never run another one, feeling they are pretty much useless. It seemed to test a great number of things I would never use the tablet for. The real question is "am I satisfied with the performance?". My answer is "yes".
My husband has an HD which I recently upgraded to CM 12. I know from working with his tablet that it is a little more responsive than mine, but I honestly don't care that much. I don't experience lag to any extent that changes my blood pressure and I'm constantly amazed at how well the tablet performs. So that's my test

Logitech Revue, Stuck in setup

Hey everyone, Picked up a Logitech Revue (with google TV)
This supposedly cost the company an arm and a leg and flopped, it was discontinued I think in 2012 or 2013..
Anyway ran across one at the junk store for $1 so I picked it up.
I tested it out everything seemed fine, I was running it offline.. tested some music, movies.. no problem.
Side loaded some apps but pretty much everything crashes.. My collection of APK's are drawn from ARM/MIPS
This device runs a Intel Atom so no surprise there.. anyway It had the original owners info on it so after testing I decided to start fresh.. BIG MISTAKE.
I factory reset but when it came back up it demanded to go thru setup.. no way to avoid that I can see.
First it wants net.. well ok, then it wants google login.. errr.. well ok.. then we get to step 7.. acceptance of Logitech license.
We get a error.. I know it's got net access so im assuming logitech has shuffled some things on their end and the device can no longer get a valid response.. since you can't skip setup there is no way to continue and im left with a brick
I searched google but found very little about the device.
Any information, advice, help would be appreciated.
I really just wanted to be able to surf the web, stream music/movies from local network, and maybe find some compatible emulators for games, I think this would have worked just fine for that.
Well no responses yet, but im not surprised, given the obscurity of the device and issue.
I did recieve a response back from Logitech support, Basicly, they admit it's a problem, there is no fix, since support ended for the device you're just S.O.L
So as a warning if you have a Logitech revue and it's working.. DO NOT EVER RESET IT.
"Please note that we can no longer complete the setup for this product once it is reset. No further update is in place for Logitech Revue as this product has been discontinued already. Admittedly, there's no fix available to get around this."
Hopefully someone where can come up with some idea's.. otherwise Im stumped.. can't find much on the net about it.. no modiffied firmwares or anything
I am stuck on step #7 too...
What I can tell you is that it is failing on a call to discovery.logitech.com... That appears to be an IIS / .NET webservices server, it's up and running which makes me think that the endpoint that the logitech server uses has been nuked or some backend db has been shutdown which sends back an error. Can't really tell what the exact URL is as the request is HTTPS, so it doesn't show up on the http proxy.
A port scan shows the following open ports:
Open TCP Port: 5222 jabber-client
Open TCP Port: 5223
Open TCP Port: 9551
Open TCP Port: 9552
Open TCP Port: 45399
None of the ports respond to adb, however 45399 does respond with a http 400 (bad request).
Maybe if we had someone with root who could dump the firmware we could figure out something else to try... :\
Bump?
I really wish I saw this before resetting my revue. It worked great for what I needed. Now it's a paperweight.

Cheers.

Mine stopped booting so I thought a reset would correct the issue. It boots up now, but I'm also stuck. Boo for planned obsolescence!
Yes, I too having the same issue, my google account got locked, so i was getting error like retry.... then i thought to change the email account after reset, but unfortunately it is not able to change even the email account and not able to pass through step 7 of 11. as you said this box is just like a paper weight, so, I bought a Raspberry PI 4 with 2GB device and installed LineAge 16 OS (Android 9) on it and now I am enjoying LIVE TV as well all internet TV like Hotstar / Netflix and YouTube...
