Hah, I have just the opposite issue. Fancy Widgets never seems to update properly, but the notification bar is always correct.

[Q] How do I take out the time on the notification bar?

How do I take out the time on the notification bar?
With a widget that has a clock/time on it, the time on the notification bar seems pretty useless.
LOL, with the time in the notification bar, widgets with that info are useless
I'm pretty sure you can not take take that clock out. I think a bunch of the system stuff runs from that clock.

Well I have the TypoClock widget where it shows the time AND date. The notification bar only shows the time (date if you pull down notification bar), but I'd rather have just the widget.

Have you tried using a different Launcher?
Launcher Pro allows you to hide the notification bar.
im running ADW and if i just flick the screen up the status bar goes away, flick it again and it comes back. its pretty cool. i havent tried it with the stock home screen.

[Q] Is it possible to install these power control widgets?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=877003
its available in the market ,Purchased it and did not like it .
i prefer the quicksettings app. Like the interface and also its free
I use this now on my streak. I have no widget just the icon bar sitting in my notification area. It displays what is active and what is not. Only compliant is when I click it it opens up widget and fades the background which is an extra step.. also don't like the transparent notification icon.

Okay, that doesn't sound like the same thing. I have the notification bar power control widgets on my Evo and I can toggle them directly from the notification bar.
Well, I just did a Nandroid of my Streak, maybe I'll install it and see what happens.

How do you unset Touchwiz clock's alarm?

My Touchwiz digital clock's alarm is always set, as indicated by the alarm clock icon in the notification bar.
When I tap on the clock and the alarm-setting window opens, it gives me no options to cancel the alarm. I set the alarm to silent and uncheck vibrate, but when I close out of this window, a small message appears and says something like my alarm is set to go off in 23 hours, 10 minutes. And the alarm clock icon is still in the notification bar.
Anybody know how to turn the damn thing off? Thanks!

Just delete the alarm? I am on Task650's ROM, but since it's touchwiz there shouldn't be a difference. There's a delete option next to done and cancel on the top of the page. I attached a pic.

Thanks, but I don't have a delete option showing on my screen. I just have Done and Cancel, but there is no Delete with a trashcan icon. I know there's got to be a way to turn the alarm off.
Anybody else?

Could you post a screen shot of how yours looks in comparison? I didn't have that problem before I rooted and what not. I just don't remember how it looked compared to mine now

[Q] What lockscreen widget is this?

Rooted running various ROMs and this keeps popping up. I have my "home" lockscreen set to cLock. As soon as I get any type of notification, lock the phone then go to unlock it this one appears to the right of the home lockscreen. Wouldn't be so annoying, except for the fact that it shows up as if it were the home lockscreen and I have to swipe to the left to get to the real home lockscreen.
I've noticed this on Hyperdrive and BoneStock, so I know it's not a ROM issue. If I restart, it goes back to normal up until I get another notification. I can't edit or remove it. Driving me nuts...

If you expand the widget screen by swiping down on your widget, that's the "minimized" unlock challenge. With your cLock widget on screen, try swiping down on it, and you'll see the same thing at the bottom. If you swipe back up from it, the widget is back to normal, non-expanded size, and the challenge ring will come back to normal.
...at least that's what I'm seeing.

That doesn't look like cLock.

I should have clarified. That widget looks the same wether minimized or expanded. I know what you're saying though, the cLock widget just shows me time and weather and when I expand it I get my calendar. Whatever this widget is it shows nothing but the time and date regardless of expanded or minimized. It shouldn't bug me this badly, but it's seriously driving me crazy. I get my lockscreen setup with a cool widget and as soon as I get a text or email I get this tiny little thing that doesn't show anything useful.

Pretty sure that is the KeyguardWidget that would normally show if you had a new message or missed call or something. I would delete it and it will default to the default clock widget.

This can be achieved on a TW ROM by going to settings, lockscreen, widgets, clock size and choose small.

Nice, thanks
Just a quick update in case someone else is searching for a fix. Adjusting the lock screen widgets from settings did not work for me (on JellyBeans B6). Renaming KeyguardWidget.apk to KeyguardWidget.apk.old in /system/apps did work though. Thanks again for everyone's help!

Clock Widget on homescreen sometimes freezes

Hello,
I have a problem with my clock widget. Sometimes the time freezes. It happens several times. The clock on the status bar goes normally but on the homescreen it freezes. For example the time is 9:30, on the status bar it shows 9:30 but the big clock on the homescreen stays for a long times at 8:45. And it is not because of the widget, because I tried different widgets from the play store. What could be the problem? I hope you can help me
I don't know why nobody answers but ok I try to show a screenshot to make it clear.
The homescreen clock and the statusbar clock are not synchrone
What ROM are you using? I've experienced this with MIUI, but never with CM or AOSP. That's one of the reason I don't like MIUI
I am using the stable 7.3 Miui from xiaomi.eu. i had this issue with different clock widgets
Cured on my phone by going to security , permissions, autostart and selecting clock to allow auto start....
