I was trying to install the Microbes Live Wallpaper but was getting an error and was wondering if anyone was able to install it on their Prime or know if it's even supported on ICS.

Not really his fault Mega upload is a thing of the past...... I tryed to get it off my galaxy nexus but it doesn't work...... same as the phase beam one.....

no, it isn't, but if one is going to give a snarky comment, they should at least make sure the link is valid instead of just searching and putting up whatever shows up.
Or if you don't have a prime quit posting .apk files that don't work. The galaxy nexus live wallpapers don't run on the prime.......

I own it from that exact original link so assumed it was still a viable link. I was going to zip it & put it in my Dropbox but now... i'll pass just so you can't have it from me even though you already got it thanks to the work of someone else.
Everyone should just chill out no need to fight because of a dead link

So this looks good even though I assume it was designed for the Nexus S which is 800x480? I'll give it a go I guess.

Hi,
I got my Vibrant today and notice it's missing some of the live wallpapers from the international version.
Most noticeable for me is the missing galaxy live wallpaper.
Anyone have the apk for the spinning galaxy live wallpaper?

I think he's referring to the spinning purple galaxy and stars originally found on the nexus one. I could be wrong. I noticed it not being on the Vibrant as well.

Yes, that's the one I'm referring to. It was released with the Nexus One and I've seen it in just about every video review of the international version, but sadly it's missing on the Vibrant.
So i'm not familiar with the one you're referring specifically to....
but look in the market at "3d galaxy" live wallpaper. it has tags about nexus one? is that what youre looking for? it is flying through stars/galaxy, nto spinning, so maybe still not what youre referring to.

I've searched high and low on XDA and can't seem to find it if someone did post it before. I searched through the Nexus One forum for an APK but no luck.

i got an idea, search google for a nexus one, evo4g, or desire dump, then look through system/app and i think youll find it

hmm while searching the g1 forums i found this. they say it needs fixing to fit a g1 but it might work as is for the vibrant lemme know

Thanks for the link. I put the apk into the System/app folder, but nothing happened. It's not listed in the Live Wallpaper gallery and I can't install it.
Is there a trick to installing new live wallpapers?

eh hmm neither of those methods worked? im sorry bro im no dev but maybe im guessing it does needa be modified to work on our phones but im sure its something simple within the apk perhaps something inside that checks to make sure its on a nexus one and not another phone...probably needs modifying..
pretty damn sure i saw the stock galaxy live wallpaper on a captivate (at&t version of the galaxy s) so maybe a system dump from the captivate?
my roommate has a captivate and its definitely on his, sucks that we didnt get it, it looks amazing

In the meantime, check out "substrate live wallpapers" on the market. It's free and looks very good on the vibrant. It comes with several, all of which can be tweaked to your liking. Also, if you don't mind paying $0.99, check out "galactic core donation". After changing the settings and colors it looks amazing.
Well I managed to get the .apk from the captivate that contains it's wallpapers. I tried to install it, but it didn't work. I'm no coder or programmer, so I have no idea what to do. Maybe there is someone around here that knows what to do. I attached the .apk for those that want it.

pull it out of a prior release and use root explorer to put it in system/app and set permissions to rw-r-r. there isnt a flashable version.

p.s. LOVE the rom. Been flashing since 5 and the improvement's been remarkable. Only issue I had was the snow which you've fixed. Great job man. (I'd post this in your thread but obviously I don't have the thread count to do so yet haha)

Ended up flashing an older ROM I knew it worked on and pulling it from there. Tried it on the new ROM it wasn't working on and it installed fine. Not sure if it matters but it was on an Asus Transformer, so I'm not sure if the app would be different? Worth trying at least

Thank you. This worked for my nexus 7. Stock rom, rooted. Some reason it says in the marketplace my device is not compatible.
Quick Google search brought me here as usual. For a quick fix.

First of all, I am not sure that this is the right place to post, but I am new here so please move the topic if it is not the right place.
Secondly, English is not my native language so excuse any mistake I can make.
Thirdly, I am not an Android pro so I may use words for others, I hope you'll understand what I mean.
So, I was a bit stupid yesterday and followed a tutorial to root my Galaxy Player 5.8, tutorial that didn't apply to the Galaxy Player 5.8. Now, It is stuck on a screen showing a yellow triangle and an icon that surely means "connect the device to the PC". I can still use Odin. But What should I use Odin for ? Is there some working ROM or something somewhere that I can get on my device ? Even if that ROM is not rooted, I'd still like to be able to boot my Android instead of being stuck at that screen.

I can't really tell, I never owned a 5.0
In fact this device is my first Android device, so of course I am really amazed by everything it does, even more now that it is rooted
It is rather big but I was used to carry calculators in my pockets so it fits pretty well
The only downside of the big screen is that if you only have one hand available, your thumb can't get everywhere on the screen
Other than that it is great

i am in america and would love to get a 5.8 but they are not for sale here.

I am in France, there was a website called Export Privé (I don't think you are interested in any link if you are in America, and I don't know if I have enough posts to post links either so I won't try since it is easy to findd it on Google ) that exported those devices to France for approximately 340 €.

Yeah, that website is a bit weird, it was down right after I downloaded it, then was back, so maybe it was down when you checked but now it is back

It is legal to attach it. But you can't because the file is too large. You can upload it somewhere like dropbox or google drive and post the link here with spaces in the link so all we have to do is get rid of the spaces.
As for 4.2, its probably the same story as every other galaxy player. Samsung doesnt want release it so we have to make it. Might have to do the same if you want it

Its called install Linux and download the cm 10.1 source. Then modify for your device. I'm not gonna do it seeing as I have a 4.0

More seriously, would this one (not on xda but still seems to answer my needs pretty well) be good ?
Also, will there not be difficulties from porting a rom for phones to a Galaxy Player which is not a phone ?

if you dont have a lot of knowledge on this, then i would not recommend doing this.
that guide will suffice though.
and yes it takes a lot of work

Indeed, I know nothing about computers and Android devices, I only interested myself to calculators until my parents accepted to buy me an Android
So yeah, I think I won't manage.
I am running Android 4.0.4, but I heard (or read) that 4.2 supports launching multi apps (don't know if that sentence makes sense, sorry, I am not a natvie English speaker) so I was very interested in that

yeah, this, i thought it's a placebo, but it's snappy, but it doesn't have the T95Z launcher and no navigation and status bars, idk if this will sound stupid, but my guess about libs, well, now most of devs like from Ugoos etc are doing some tweaks with AFR, maybe devs who are doing T95Z firmwares are trying too
OH, BTW, i liked in this firmware the notifications, they are not in the middle of the screen, but on down side, and the popup is a little changed

Do you still have this laying around? Any chance you could send it to me? I would REALLY appreciate it. I'm trying to set up a T95Z for a friend who wants the standard ATV experience and so far haven't been able to find anything that is 100% compatible...

edit : i connected it to the internet with lan cable, so this is my mistake

Disconnect internet on startup, you won't have this problem. Can choose skip instead of signing into Google Account.

You can start uploading, someone can use my customization tool to remove the setup application removing the need to have a google account

Now I'm off to flash this on the device I'm working on so I can get it back to them.

Thanks anyway.
I finally retrieved a MD5 format backup of my box but cannot restore it. Indeed, I cannot boot into recovery. Giving a try with Odin but cannot find a way for the box to be recognized.
