No one knows of anything? That sucks. I wish I just knew where to even start to make something like this. I bet it would sell like crazy!
Doesn't seem like it would be that hard to write... Just need to motivate someone Or maybe bug nvidia for one.
I admit, it does tempt me to learn how widgets are done (I already know apps and a few things on how to search for the cpu data), and make something just to see how many people would actually download it for being the first lol.
If someone will be kind enough to gather the docs on making widget and get me the links, I'll consider trying to make something with free/donate versions, and make code available if it works.

Not comlpetley on the topic but close enough, I have a system panel app that does show 4 cores actively but the strange thing is the companion core is nowhere to be seen.
Core zero always seems to be online at about 150-400 MHz but it's not the companion core because it spikes up to 1.2 Ghz when you close or open something... pretty weird.

I know, as far as I've been able to tell, it's almost like the companion core is hidden from the kernel. Probably designed that way but I bet nVida knows how.

For the system there is no 5th core. The switching between the companion core and the quadcores is a low level work. The CC and the Core 0 are the "same" for android.

Tegra 3 is going to kick ass for sure! And while the additional 5th core is something to look forward to, did you know that the Tegra 2 also has a separate ARM7 processor that does what Tegra 3's 5th core does?
Awesome right?

Yeah, the other core pretty much handles all the little crap, like the phone dialer. Anything more power intensive kicks in the big boys.
Most smart phones dating back to the Hero at least had a slow second core to handle the modem, so it wasn't hogging CPU time from the OS and Apps.
Who wants Kal-el when you can get Nvidia Wolverine!?! That wont be for a while tho :/

I am considering creating a secure ROM which will be optimized for security and privacy. Gapps will be removed, security will be enhanced, Tor integration, a custom kernel enhanced for security and speed, and open source drivers (The last two are for later work).
I am considering making two flavors, a defense ROM (Set up for defense and max privacy), and a Offensive ROM (The defensive ROM except modded for pentesting (Right...? ). I might figure out how to get the aircrack suite running on it.)
However, the Offensive ROM is a future project and i am just going to make the defense ROM for now.
Is there any interest into this? (And i might integrate cornerstone into it)
I plan to make it a FOS ROM for v2 or v3 but thats all in the future. For now i am planning to build off of the stock ROM.
Any idea's/suggestions?
Edit: I have started working on the Defense version and I should have a 1.0 out soon.
And yes, I have the computing power to compile a FOS ROM. Two quad Core 8gb machines

I mean secure as in no Google logging (remember carrier IQ oh wise one? ), custom written drivers so no manufacturer logging , and a custom kernel so that I can do things like disable the GPS chip at kernel level and lock the camera at kernel level.
And the offensive ROM is going to be a blast. All ur wifis ar mine and all that

tor integration would be a nice feature, but so would having an option to cut it off if it gets too slow.
Better vpn implementation would be a plus.

And the things you use a tablet for (Pr0n?) are not the things the OP is making a very specific build for.
I actually have quite a few professional tools on my Prime as well, and it wouldn't break my heart to see GAPPS go away.
I really hate it when amateurs with no clue post "rhetorical" questions. Rhetorical in quotes because you obviously have no clue that there IS a valid answer to your question, nor are you even remotely interested in the answer because the OP already gave it PRIOR to you asking.

So if this Eee Pad is like its netbook brother the Eee PC which has a broadcom also(yes I know its not the exact same one) it could be pretty useful in the penetrate(offensive) area. My college runs the Eee PC in the ethical hacking classes because its compact and the broadcom it boasts can utilize BT WiFI tools to its full potential.

Ditto. One of my concerns for getting this tablet was if there would be developer support. I imagine though, that porting things from the prime shouldn't be too hard, although I also know how much work it could be + the processor is technically different. I can't wait either way!!!!
asus does a good job with their upgrades. what advantages do you all see with custom rom's on a device with such good support?

custom roms are usually always better because they bring features and tweaks not found in stock experience. alot of times they can also be more stable than stock. just go to developement section and look at some of the roms feature lists. it can completely change and improve your experience with the device.

Nook Tablet Ti omap4 identicle to Nvidia2 "LETS GET THIS DEVELOPMENT MOTHA STARTED!"
Yes thats right we can develop beyond using the Kindle fire and I just cant believe we havent. The OMAP4 is almost exacly the same as the Nvidia Tegra2. lets take for example the galaxy tab with Nvidia tegra2 AND THE GALAXY TAB 2 with Ti Omap.4030. the only difference is the omap beat the tegra chip in graphics by a hair and it can run 3d where the tegra cannot.
just do the math and due diligence and I will gladly be a tester in this.

You have tried CM7 right?
As for it being laggy, everything basically since stock has had some sort of hw video deciding or hw accel problem. Some of them have been fixed like CM7 but a lot of others haven't. This can be attributed to the 3.0 kernel not being done. Rather than focus on fixing an old outdated 2.6 kernel they are focusing on getting everything to work on the 3.0 kernel and they've made great progress. In fact Rebellos said that it was a matter of days until hw video/accel worked.
All I can say is that maybe the expectations are a little too high.

If you are SO much smarter than all of us and by some miracle have figured out something that we haven't, than why haven't you done something about it instead of yelling at people to try and get them to do it for you? Easy answer: you haven't found anything.
This last January was the first time I flashed a ROM. Yet here I am about 6 months later and I've been a successful project leader of a Google Now port for ICS. If I can do that and I'm only a young 15 y/o Dev, why cant you with all your "experience" do ANYTHING helpful here at all?
Oh wait, you can't.

On G+ a user asked Asus about Jelly Bean for the TF201 and Asus replied "Jelly says it's his next stop "

What else was expected to happen? Of course it's coming soon. When is the question....
I think the op's intentions is that the 201 is next.

The big question is if it actually resolves any of the problems that are present in the TF201 ICS firmware. So far, Asus has made no claim that it does. You can spraypaint a turd pink, but its still smells like a turd.

Apparently the new kernel has some effect on the TF300's I/O, which seems to be the main weakness on the Prime. Improve that bottleneck and it'll help a lot of different areas.
To be honest with the root tweaks my prime's performance is adequate, even if the jelly bean improvements are marginal I'll be pretty satisfied.
I just want Google Now and that higher frame rate.

I also am happy with my prime with virtuous prime rom and batoo's io scheduler and tune.sh. Butter smooth already. So JB or my current setup will be fine. I love android for the fact I have choices and solutions all the time.

that was a wonderful statement...
too many people here
(uber-techies & needy people)
forget that with all of the dev going on for this device,
they have made an already great Droid
(yes, i AM aware of its MANY shortcomings)
an AWESOME Droid!
i almost sent mine back(twice)...
the dev community convinced me to stick it out & keep it.
glad i did.
(btw, i have 5 other Droids in house; the Prime gets the most use of all)
Half of us can't even unlock and try any dev, so it doesnt apply to us until we can. We've tried to get an answer from Asus and they've done nothing.
Love my Prime
Had it since the first shipment, 12/23/11 and have no issues at all except GPS as we all know. All games run great no complaints except Madden, can't get that to run for anything. I am unlocked and rooted and flashed most of these roms. Thank you to the devs that keep our device alive and fast.
I must say I have no problems running games (those tegra games are beautiful and run great), i only have the occasional ANR while downloading torrents but pressing 'wait' just makes it disappear and everything functions. So, not much crashes or apps getting stuck
