thats main thing cm7.2 coming home after so much of time....
there are many phone with adreno200 and armv6 which are in cm official.. of they get cm9 then we can port them to ace and might be after some time we can see cm9.2 ??
i believe we will see a stable CM9 as more code become readily available. Wayland has been busy lately so development on CM9 for ace has slowed up and his source patches are not public so other devs are not able to continue without a rebuild.

great news indeed!!!! Though we already have a superb rom by vo-1, an official release sounds good to my ears
---------- Post added at 11:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:52 PM ----------
so, we will get a stable mod for ace and as time goes by we will be getting nightlies? These are something like updates and bug fixes? And we will have to flash one each time it comes out? Can anyone describe how the story goes with official cyanogen support?
I just hope we won't get just a release candidate for start!!!
I wonder what is the difference gonna be.
Some of my awesome tweaks would be gone though ):

I am very curious what will happen to all those amazing scripts we've got so far by the the devs here on xda. I guess most of them won't work on the official release and if they don't, will the devs adapt them to that version or continue developing for xda roms?
Anyway, with all those patches, mods and scripts we've got so far here on xda for the KANG releases, when the official CM comes out it's going to be like getting back a STOCK ROM with absolutely no "juice". WICKED!!!!!
Great new!! i was just about to change rom, will wait for this now!..

CM9 is currently under development, although it almost has no major issues (only camera) it's still better to use cm7 as of now. Kabayan! ^.^

Has evil_penguin said for the moment cm9 is on development but the port made by Maclaw and his team are really stable (some force close of course sometime but it's a beta so it's normal ). For me the big different for the moment between cm7 and cm9 it's just the camera who does not work for the moment in cm9. But if you want more details just go here===>http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1490867. Hope i help you
*Sorry for my imperfect english
hmm...
cm9 available?
For me, cm7 is stable because for example camera and radio works (in cm9 currently don't work). But i think cm9 looks better. if you don't use camera and radio, install cm9.

For my part it's cm9 beta5 from Maclaw and his team but i don't really understand what is "better" for you if it's the stabilty and all fonctionnality work so it's cm7 but cm9 look really great but still in beta so it's sure it will be less stable and some function are missing (camera is the big one for the moment). It's all about how you use your phone if you use a lot your camera if you want to have a smooth surf on the net...etc. I use cm9 and i'm really happy with it just wait a little and cm9 will have all the functionality work
*Sorry for my imperfect english
Maclaw's CM9 is smoother than GB and CM7.... Only Camera is the main problem!
The performance of CM9 forced me to use it... Lol

I'm using CM7 atm, I like it. It's clean and fast.
CM9 is one of the most desirable roms now a days as it is ice creams sandwitch. but the main issue right now is the camera and it is still in the development stage(Beta). So, if you can manage w/o using your camera on your phone you can go for CM9 other wise CM7
how about radio in the CM9 ?
I'm not fond of cm9 as its lack of compatibility. Bleeding edge rom

Right..certain apps are not compatible with ICS. But gradually they will be....with time.Happens with every new OS upgrade.
+1 for CM9..i'm using it now. beta 6 is very smooth with 4.0.4 version.
now just waiting for camera fix and 3.x kernel
go for the CM7 coz its more stable and everthing i mean everthing works like charm , while CM9 still in devolopedment and there are some issues and might not be good for daily use
Stable? Go for CM7.
Forget CM9. Forget it. At least for now

can any1 tell me what is the rom with best battery life?
I currently use cm9 and 7.2 but the battery life preety sux
stocklite v6
+1 stocklite..(just delete the scripts from it in the init.d folder enjoy )
I installed AOKP task450 version 37 in my AT&T SG2 and working excellent
Stocklite v6--besy battery life. Just remove the scripts if you want. Try Xperiatized by Robin. Beauty + Battery
miracle v4 with modified ace kernel
Stock ROMs are best for battery so i'd advice you to go for stocklitev6

I'm thinking of gettin' this rom... butm what about the modified kernel? I've always thought that CM7 roms are battery killers, I'm running "The End 4.0" and I can't get 'till noon. Right now since 7:30 a.m. I'm at 14% :s
I'll probably say that a modified stock will be just perfect!

Well heres mine, I managed to fix super user remembering problems by installing SuperSU.
What about you?
Also anyone can tell me how to change the speaker to loud speaker? Since Maclaw said loudspeaker is working. Can anyone tell me. And confirm that my super user guide worked?
i was not satisfied with CM9 and hence i am using apocalypse rom (superb performance). Is cm10 better than cm9??? hows the battery performance/ stability? hangs?? is camera working??

Stop right there my dear friend!!
The CM10 is still in alpha stage! Remember that!
Anyway, the alpha stage is smoother than Cm9 due to project butter, stable enough, deep sleep works for some users only and you cant expect camera yet and you know that!

All of the jb ROMs are good. There has been a lot of people flashing helly bean. It is basically a continuation of the port dev'ed by Der Teufel, he devs the devil kernel. My suggestion is test them all.

I'm using Jellybro and GPS is about as good as it's ever been for my Vibe. Just "meh." If I open Maps and let it settle for a bit it will lock. Then I can go into Endomondo or Navigation or whatever. But if I go straight to Endomondo and try to do my route it won't really ever lock.

I only get Galasy S settings to open with Devil kernel. The Devil kernel 103 messed up my modem so I had to refash KB5 after flashing Devil. The brightness slider option (slide finger across notification area) works, but is kinda glitchy sometimes. But overall it is the most stable ROM I've ever flashed - no force closes, etc.
JB development has come a long way.
I was surprised how fast we've got JB on our Vib. Thanks to the devs for their never ending support.
As per my experience JB is buggy at best. But i think its good since none of the devs are saying they are out of alpha release already.
JB GPS is working intermittently on sygic gps app but it doesnt work at all when i switch to google nav.
I dont have this problem on ICS i can just switch to sygic or google without a problem.
Browsing is laggy. Battery life is not that good.
But it's very tolerable. (Depends really on your tolerance level)
But again development is on its early stage, for sure the best is here to come.
Been flashing JB for the last 2 weeks. Time to get a rest. Lol
Back to IC Zen 1.8.4 with a Jelly Bean Theme. Its smooth, GPS is working pretty well. And i still get the JB experience with the theme.
Nothing to complain really...

i dont put jokawild or others cause some just are outdated..devs dont answer anymore in thread. so no point to install that roms if its buggy for someone ,no one answers..i put the more relevant roms..and from september 2012 till now..in blue you have updated roms..means developers still adding new versions or updating the roms a bit.
just to keep a clean thread and can help new users more easily.:good:

While I can understand where your coming from, I have to say Jokawild is the best GB ROM I have tried. Its beautiful and incredibly fast (on-par or maybe more than NXTLite) It's my Daily ROM, and I havnt had one of those in a while.
I wish I knew about this ROM sooner, so I'd suggest putting it as a honorable mention atleast
Also, I have had no bugs or anything. Either way just a suggestion :silly:

Good tread: )
I haven't seen a Rom compilation or the PLAY since like 2011 hehe
I know the intention is to make a light thread, not saturated with too many roms and kernels, but there are some roms that are 100% complete, so new users, (if you take a look to q&a section there are a LOT of new PLAY users) would find it easier/ less troublesome to have their first flashing with a full Rom, instead of dealing with bugs and wait for the developers to solve them. Maybe you're lookind to make a thread for developers/daily flashers, but if you want, you can make it a little (no too much) wider and cover more completed protects. If you do so, this should be a sticky on devs section and q&a section. It would be so nice XD
As a start, you should include the Dixperia2 Rom, it's not too old (September 2012) and it's the best Rom for a balance between performance and battery life. For hard gaming, is the best along jokawild and NXT lite, with no need for supercharger or other tweaks; and it's 100% completed. Hope you consider this
