Hi guys i know this may sound stupid but
yesterday i flash my lg p500 with franco kernel(v19.4) and cm9 rom using boot recovery mode and everything was fine(while installing a new rom i had made backup of my stock rom and franco kernel) but at the evening i found that my younger brother accidentally backed up everything which means now again i am on android 2.3.3 and he has formatted the sd card.
so i thought i can again upgrade it but i found some major problems
1. my o1 is not connecting to pc
2. camera is not working
3. Bluetooth is not getting on
and so more
LG P500
rom : stock rom(android : gingerbread 2.3.3)
kernel : franco kernel 19.4
software version : V20C
plz guide me what do i do now ?????????????
Thanx in advance
Not sure what ur asking exactly.
Try flashing a more stable rom or the cm7 nightlies.
The camera does not work in 4.0.3 as its very buggy(still in beta state)

but i am unable to connect to my pc so that i can flash my o1.
camera and other things are not working in a stock rom not in cm 9
You're running an official LG Gingerbread with a 2.6.32 kernel? That's wrong. Flash any .35 kernel. I recommend this one: http://www.mediafire.com/?lf87arbc491f5y2
By the way, I think you still can mount the sdcard on recovery to transfer files to it.
no my kernal version is 2.6.32.46 franco v19.4
and my pc is not recognising my o1 then how i transfer files for flashing
You could always download the rom through your phone and flash it that way, just don't format SD card, can still wipe data/cache/dalvik.
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
Or if you have a sd card reader for your computer just take it out of your phone and put the file on it that way
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
As I said, it's wrong to use a .32 kernel with the stock Gingerbread. You have to use a .35 kernel with this ROM.
Download any .35 kernel, turn off your phone then boot to the recovery through the buttons combination, then mount the sd card to transfer the files to it and flash.
Or make the mentioned above, downloading through your phone then enter recovery to flash it.
yup buddy i am doing the same let's hope this works.
m totally blank pla help shows error
1. Can't mount /sdcard/
What exactly are you doing? And did you try what I suggested?
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
Download a .35 kernel to stop having the errors. You have 2 ways.
1. Download on your PC, then boot into recovery on your phone, connect it to your PC through USB and go to "mounts and storage > mount USB storage". After this you can flash the kernel.
2. Download on your phone then go to recovery and flash it.
Can you download the file from your phone? Not your computer. As in go to the spot to download on your phone browser not your computer. Then reboot into recovery and install from SD.
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
now i have flash my kernel(link given by you)
and reboot and look what has comes
Fastboot mode started
ud_start()
--suspend--
--reset--
My guess would be that the .32 kernel messed something on the ROM.
You were on stock Gingerbread with the (wrong) franco.kernel .32 before, right? No more modifications?
Only do this if you have no alternatives.
In worst case scenario, you can copy your backup from the sd card to the PC (on recovery), turn off your phone and boot on emergency mode (back + volume up + power), connect to the PC and use KDZ to flash the stock ROM again (selecting EMERGENCY instead of DIAG).
Then with a system running OK you could install the recovery again, copy your backup to sd card, restore it and try something that solve the problem this backup has.
i have downloaded cm 7.1 rom but when i try to install big error list comes
and at the end installation aborted
wat should i do now ??
right now i am on stock rom and on kernel(link given by you)

man u just have bad luck....
Flash it with odin theres a guide on how to use odin in the forum
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
with your understanding i would just odin to stock and start fresh.
sooooo the only way to go is to flash back to stock ...?
I agree with shred if ur understanding of odin is not that great then odin back to stock is the way to go and then flash cm7 from stock
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
well just tell me how .....

Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
heres a great guide!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=9375927
heres how to get into dl mode
power off phone
pull out battery
turn on odin
attach phone to pc with usb cable
now while holding down both volume buttons put battery back in.
now you should be in download mode and go back to stock with odin from here!
make sure u put the proper .pit and .pda file in there proper places on odin and ur set to go.
Enjoy and also make sure u have the proper samsung drivers
i want to be able to fix this problem WITHOUT going back to stock is there any way???
yes, there is.
Flash pda tar initial cyanogen kernel witch will give you clockworkmod 3xx through odin and reboot to recovery and flash whatever version of nightly you want minus the #20 .
do you have a link to those files
Downloaded the old CM7 files:
http://www.mediafire.com/?gn4qoonoe3cjyp6
Extracted the cm7-vibrant-initial-kernel.tar
Fire up odin and load the tar file (pda section)
THIS IS IMPORTANT - UNCHECK AUTO REBOOT!!!
When done (success) pull usb cable and hold the 3 button combo (will take about 10secs to reboot) and enter recovery mode.
When in recovery mode flash the #19 Nightly
I found it at /mnt/sdcard/clockworkmod/download/download/download.cyanogenmod/get/(#19 full rom)
OR
Download it here:
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=vibrantmtd
and save to sdcard
please give thnx to moped_ryder for the instruction
thank you alot but one last one question ? will this wipe my apps?
No it will not it just only bring ur clockwork from 4.x to 3.x so it will read ur sd card btw i recommend u to upgrade straight to build 22 rather than flashing back to build 19 good luck flashing and keep us updated if it works
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
well.. in that case cant you just delete cwm then reflash it to cwm3
Well the thing is u cant cm7 build 19 come preload with cwm 4x just follow the instruction i gave u to fix the sd problem so u can flash newer version of cm7

can you boot to the xrecovery?
if not
go then to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746 and try to fash one of the orginal rom
rooted then there you go
use this website as a reference for the downloading source
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1209749
--------------------------------------------------------------------
if yes
go to the xrec
1 download clean fresh soft from how ever you want
2 move to the memory card
- partition tool
-amount usb
----------------- in case any problem
3 boot to the xrec by pressing back button
4 go to advance option
5 wipe dalvik cache, battery, fix perm
6 go back to main menu
7 factory reset
8 reboot try whether work
-----------------------
if yes great
if not lets continue
extreme option do not turn off phone in steps below other way use Sony ericsson update service or flash tool use the instruction include in the flash toll website.
9 go to partition tools
10 format system, data, cache extremely carefull
11 install custom rom
12 factory reset now you can reboot
13 reboot system
This only my suggestion
discharge
i am not responsible for any damage of phone which can be done by the step above.
edit: if you install many application some of them may have file on the sd so copy your file - your akp, music photo, music, video on your hard drive and format sd card and tried boot up again
because even if you delete data using xrec there will be still some of the rubbish on your sd that may cause the problem on you X10
GOOD LUCK

Whats ur baseband?
Are you on any custom kernels?
Bootloops happens mostly when u mess up these two things.
My suggestion is to start it from scratch (means installing 2.1 and then rooting and flashing 2.3).
Good luck.
Actually that's a problem with that specific rom, flash back a stock rom via flash tool and do another custom rom.
Ok so yeah i can access xrecovery whitout any problem im on z 2.3.3 freex10 baseband 71 using the kernel that comes whit the rom i can restore roms but not flash a rom and make it work damn back to 2.1 --

Which ROM are you trying to flash really? ROMs aren't exactly "flashable" as in via flash tool, flashing a custom rom is actually wiping and installing the files via xrecovery, which xrecovery does both but doesn't say so directing, it just says copying, formatting etc, since no custom rom is made in ftf flash file format but in zip format instead.

You have to choose one at a time, look for all additional hot fixes etc.
This is for people who wanna go from Stock GB and based ROM's to Old Baseband ROMs (mik's CM7, Andy's Phoenix, Froyo, etc).
For the vice Versa, just flash the Old BaseBand Back.
If you don't have a Recovery yet
Install ROM manager and Install CWM Recovery, the Latest one will will be installed as u update it, atm the latest one is 5.x
Reboot into recovery and then make a Nandroid Backup. Now if u do anything wrong bla bla u can just restore your backup :_D [You Have not Flashed Baseband yet and don't do it yet!]
Now download your Fav ROM whatever it is, and Put it on your SD card, keep it outside as it will be easier to find. and ofc don't forget to Backup your Contacts and whatever you might need.
Now you are ready to Test the New ROM.
Reboot Into Recovery and wipe
Cache
Dalvik
Battery Stats
do a WIpe/Data/factory Reset
and finally goto mounts and Storage-> Format System
now come back and Say Install Zip from SDCARD
Choose the Zip
IT will do the update and say Process Complete
now Reboot Your Phone.
Your Phone Will Boot into your New ROM.
BUT: if its a Old Baseband Based ROM, you will not get GSM/Data Working don't Panic/Worry
Test the ROM, See the Features Check out the Camera/Wifi/Tether and all the possible things you expected to see and work.
If you are Satisfied with it now u can get ready to Flash the Old Baseband, if you are not Satisfied Reboot into Recovery and Restore your Backup.
--FLASHING OLD BASEBAND---
WARNING: 1'ce you do this (flash Old Baseband) Even u Restore your Nandroid Backup you wont get ur GSM/DATA back you will have to Flash the New Baseband if u wanna get your Stock GB working(New Baseband ROMS). so Proceed only if you are sure of Keeping the New ROM :-D (Old Baseband ROM you just Installed/Tested)
Keep the Tools Ready: 1. the LGMDP-v1.5.exe utility! and 2. the v10 Baseband
Enable USB Debugging on your Phone
Connect your Phone yo your Computer via USB and goto Device manager and Disable the LG Virtual Modem
open LGMDP-v1.5.exe
Select Port : Choose your Phone and Click on Connect
Under the IMAGE folder choose the Location where you Unzipped the Baseband (v10 is Old v20 is New)
u'l get 2 Errors Ignore that Close the Window and Click on Download
the Process will take around 5 mins.
now Dont Do Anything to Your Phone/
Go Grab a Cup of Coffee or Walk your Dog, anything waste those 5mins and come back :-D
You will get a Confirmation that the Process is Complete
Switch On Phone if Its Not Started
If Everything Went Correct you Will Have GSM working on your Phone
for Data Connectivity Please Input Your Settings Like Access Point Bla bla in the Network Setup
--------------
Now!: if you dont wanna stay on the Old Baseband ROM you can go Back to the New Baseband ROMS ofc just follow the Baseband Instructions Above and Instead of Choosing the v10 Image Choose the v20 Image
do that and u'l be On the NEw Baseband :-D
-------------
Conclusion: You Can Flash BaseBand first and then ROM or ROM first and then Baseband
Hope i Helped :-D

Thanks for the guide, I had to redo my baseband for an CM7 Rom. Just annoying you have to switch to the new baseband for Gingerbread.
This a tricky business, I am happy with Mike's CM7 with gsm fix
Whenever i install a custom rom my sgs2 bootloops, it runs fine on the ones i flash with odin, but when i try to flash a custom rom it bootloops the i9100 screen and i can't even get into recovery, only download mode...

CM7 (and CM7 based ROMs) has to be flashed twice from recovery, and often won't flash from a CF Root kernel; instructions in the Nightly thread, post 1.
I had no issue flashing CM9 but I came to it from CM7 so I had CWMR 5.0.2.7 already. I'm unsure if people flashing from a CF Root kernel have issue moving to CM9 directly or not.

yes i flashed it twice, also when i chose the zip it finishes installing in like 2-3 seconds, from what i know a rom takes about 30 seconds to install at least, and then it bootloopes from the samsung galaxy s i9100 screen with the yellow triangle and it keeps restarting and i can't even get into recovery after that, i have to flash cf-root kernel again in recovery then i install simple and clean 2.4(only rom that works besides stock) and i do it all again:|...also when i try to install cm7 with rom manager, when it reboots to install the rom it boots into the stoock recovery and gives me an error, does the battery level count?
Downgrade CWM to an older version.
Flash cfroot KK5 or something like that via Odin and see if that makes a difference.
Also intratech has the old bootloader in his thread to flash via Odin. Might help also.

Have same problem after flashing KP8 rom... I believe it installed new bootloaders and it won't flash the older ones again.
Went through about 5 or 6 stock roms, some booted but had problems with google and the phone apks . Reloaded kp8 and it works perfectly... Don't have time to play around, working.... Something to do later...
CyanogenMod7
To start off a clean slate :
1. Flash XWKK5 ( Frankenstein build ) from intratech's thread via Odin
2. Flash CF-Root for XWKK5
3. Boot into CWM
4. Wipe data
5. Wipe cache
6. Advanced -> Wipe dalvik cache
7. Install zip from sdcard -> CyanogenModxxx.zip (xxx=version)
8. AGAIN Install zip from sdcard -> CyanogenModxxx.zip
9. Reboot phone
10. If your still getting a bootloop but your keys are backlit , turn off phone , remove and reinsert battery, turn it on
CyanogenMod9
You need to flash the new bootloader too ( read instructions on the CM9 thread)
MIUI
Same as CM7 , except you don't need to flash it twice
Hope i helped
EDIT : Going back from CM9 -> You CANT flash CM7 , you have to flash stock first then CM7 , also you need the old bootloader

If u have searched u must have find the answer.
Whenever you are flashing any Samsung custom rom and stuck on boot screen, just flash any CFROOT kernel via odin it will boot.
and for CM7 & MIUI just flash Siyah 2.1 or Speedmod 13...it should boot.
This problem was faced by me and I did found the above solutions.

Not true, Mine goes into boot loop constantly... If it does boot then I get error about google and phone apks and can't get past the "touch the android" page....
I believe their is a minority of sgsII's tha have this problem, might be something to do with the new bootloaders not being completely wiped but it doesn't matter how many times I install a stock rom I get problems... And yes, I always flash the cfroot kernels after... Doesn't help....
Hi.
Having come from the HTC HD2,I am a complete noob when it comes to galaxy s2 and flashing Roms etc;
I know I had problems.....until I discovered that unlike the HD2,placing a rom on the sd card means placing it into the internal memory of the phone and not the sd card you have inserted.
Hope this helps!

What I meant was:
SD card = internal memory of phone i.e. 16Gb
External SD card = the micro SD card you physically insert into the phone
This is kind of specific to a certain ROM, but not specific enough apparantly for the mods, so ill try to explain it the best I can.
I'm using J's CM7 (Android 2.3.2 I think) and am using the wrong kernel which normally means you shouldn't be able to boot, but for some reason I'm still able to. Because im on the wrong kernel I cant access CWM. I also have a busted USB port amd can't use Flash Tool to update the kernel.
So, my question is, is there a way to install CWM while on wrong kernel? (Basically meaning I can't see the FXP logo on boot). I can remove my SD card and plug it into a PC to transfer files if necessary.
Secondary question: Is there a way to update the kernel without FlashTool on a PC?
Flash the correct ROM for ur current kernel, atleast u will get a working phone, & there's no way to flash/update kernel without USB cable, u must buy a new one..
Ask the flash tool dev that which are the necessary files for installing cwm recovery
Best way is first install xrecovery using the app if u are on 2.1 kernel or copy the newest files if u are on 2.3 kernel

In Cobratos thread for how to run unlocked roms on locked bootloader there is a file for cwm you can install through xrecovery..
