Salut!
Hardware: Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 GT-P7500 (3G)
Software: either Overcome 1.2.3, or Overcome 2.2.0, or BinDroid 1.0
Problem: on-screen Home button is not working.
On Bluetooth ZAGG-Case keyboard does not work either.
Only option for me is Button Savior software
Details:
For several months I had Overcome 1.2.3 and was a quite satisfied user. This Tuesday Overcome begun falling apart: widget load failures, freezes, shell restarts, software force-closing...
So I reflashed it to Overcome 1.2.3 again with all wipe options within Clockworkmod.
The tablet begun to work, but Home button died.
I tried Overcome 2.2.0 and had no luck with this button either.
Button savior software quickly died too (forcecloses on launch)
Then I reflashed it to BinDroid 1.0 and still Home button is disabled.
Button Savior looks like working, but anyways...
What can I try else to revive my Home button?
P.S. Installed P7500XWKL1_P7500XEUKL1_P7500XXKL3_HOME.tar.md5
That haven't solved the problem...
well...
may be this formula will have more chances to get an answer...
how can i completely reset the tablet?
so far i see several things remain when i accomplish a factory reset and all wipe options in clockworkmod.
and highly probably, the home button problem persists within these blocks left unerased.
p.s.
statusbar\settings\privacy\factory data reset haven't helped
cwm\storage\format\*.* haven't helped
cwm\wipe\*.* haven't helped
cwm\install\zip with data wipe haven't helped
men, after all these operations my /root/system/media/audio/ringtone is still keeping my mp3's. these erasing operations are not really erasing
since mp3 is safe, i assume may system setups and soft -configs are remaining as well, including that broken one which supports on-screen Home button
not even saying that device became much slower and MTP is not working

Hi, I both an HTC 8525 from eBay and it worked fine for first few days but yesterday a had first problem. At first his touch screen stopped reacting on touch, i tried rebooting, restoring on factory settings but every time he works for few minutes from the moment i start him and then again the same. My screen doesn't react on touch or if it reacts he opens a program and close it right away by it self, now he started doing that and when i start a program with buttons (not on touch screen). Please tell me is there a way to fix that by my self or should i return it? Please answer quick, thank you...
Factory default? Did it means hard reset? Had You done it? There are 2 ways :
1. Launch clear storage,
2. Handser OFF, press and hold right and left softkey, then do softreset with stylus..
If it still exist, i'm affraid of it's hardware problem, i hope not
When I do a soft reset, my phone is fine and everything works okay. However, after the first time the screen cuts off to standby, when it resumes the buttons on the bottom panel (Home, Back, Call, End, Select) no longer function. I can confirm that they all function perfectly prior to standby, and after the fact, none of them.
I'm wondering if this is a known issue, and if there's anything I can do to patch it or look it up. I've tried a few different roms, and it's a constant issue. Even after a full wipe with Task29 and a reflash with two separate roms, the behavior sticks. As soon as the phone comes back from standby mode the buttons just fail.
If it's at all relevant this is a Sprint Touch Pro. If no one can help me and there's no alternative I ask for help finding a way to disable standby entirely. Sure keeping the LCD on constantly will drain the battery, but being able to use the answer and hang up buttons, and the camera FAR outweighs that.
Well, I haven't been able to find anyone with a solution, but I've worked around the issue a bit by installing Keepawake 1.1 and setting it to run when manilla is running. Now my phone never sleeps, and the face buttons work. I'm currently looking for a small piece of metal I can mount over the power button to prevent accidentally triggering standby mode. Then my phone will be mostly usable again. Hopefully someone can shed some insight as to the cause of it all, but for now at least I may have found a way to work around it. We'll see how it affects my battery life.
edit:
Most helpful recommendation (aside from a solution to the root of the problem): could anyone recommend a way to disable the power button, or possibly remap it to launch task manger or something useful?
edit2: Remapped the power button to lock the phone using RaphKeyboardConfig. Works okay for now. Between this and keepalive, my phone won't go into standby if left on it's own.
Hey dudes
So I'm on temasek's cm 11 rom, and yesterday, my battery died(it needs to be replaced, because the phone can't tell me how charged it is...) without going through the usual "shutdown" procedures. Now when I turn it on, put the pin in and stuff, it showed upgrading apps(???), and then loaded up. Now, nothing shows in that navigation/notification panel thing, and the home button isn't working. Otherwise it seems fine. Is there any way to fix this issue without flashing and losing everything? I tried flashing to a newer rom without a factory reset, but the notification panel and home button are still not working.
Any help is really appreciated!
I have updated my Z2 to Lollipop few months ago. I found out that after 2 weeks, the left keypad could not be used, I could not press on "1", "Q". Now I have to one-hand keypad.
Yesterday, another issue happened. The android buttons are not responsive, the "back", "home" and "multitask" button do not react to me at all. I have to make the screen landscape if I need to use those buttons.
But when I am on lock screen, the "call", "unlock" and "camera" button is responsive. I did factory reset and wipe cache but still not helping. I asked some friends but most people say that it's the digitizer problem because none of them experience these before. I am not sure about this, but there are no dead pixels, no dropping at all. The age of the phone is 1 year. Everything was fine when I am on 4.4.4, all went wrong after I updated.
What can I do to fix this?
capacitive touch screen Xperia z2 unresponsive
I'm having the same issue. my capacitive touch screen is not working and i have to install assertive touch to use my phone.
i have the same problem too now flash back to 5.0.2 it's work fine

Highly recommend using Repair Firmware to wipe phone & install fresh rom By PC Companion
you should install PC Companion & Connect your Phone to PC then w8 for app to recognize your Xperia
then click on Check Update & select Repair Firmware.
Do It & Report Result Please

Android version: Android 5.1 (Lollipop)
Latest available software: 23.4.A.1.200
I met the weirdest thing I ever have. I have a galaxy camera gc100, It works very well without any problems. Since I decide to lend it to my friend, I did a factory reset. After the factory reset, everything looks fine and the initial setup screen "Select language" appears. BUT, I can not touch anything on the screen. It seems that the touch is simply unresponsive at all until the screen turns off by timeout. And then I tried (1) hard reboot, (2) go to Maintenance boot mode by pressing power and zoom out and did delete cache and factory reset again. (3) flash stock rom. (4) take out of the battery and then holding pressing the power button for more than 1 minute and then insert the battery and boot. (did three times). But none of them works. This is just weird and I can not find anyone on the Internet having the same issue as me. Other people met unresponsive touch screen and then did hard reset to fix the issue. Mine is entirely opposite. I don't have any problems, but factory/hard reset causing the touch screen is unresponsive at initial setup screen. Do anyone have any clue how I can workaround this issue? Thanks a lot. (Btw the system is still functioning because I can adjust volume and take screenshots by using the physical buttons, and the screen can rotate too).
The touch screen might have been disconnected from the motherboard (if it was poorly treated)
Or water got inside and caused a short circuit.
The touch screen could have failed from age or other cause.
If what you said you did is true, then may have to get it replaced
Also android 4 supports mouse (as a last resort) using an OTG cable.
