ok we all know that unlocking bootloader removes the DRM even if we relock the bootloader.
my question are:
1. is there a way to backup first the DRM before unlocking bootloader
2. if yes, is there a way to restore it
============================================================
another thing is that TrackID doesnt work because of DRM key deletion during unlocking bootloader. "Music Like" doesnt work also because it is connected to TrackID.
my question here are:
1. There's update of TrackID on android market. I dowloaded it, TrackID works again but still why "Music Like" doesnt work?
2. Is there a modified version of "Music Likes.apk" so that it will work together with the newest version of TrackID?
Thanks.
There is no way of backuping and restoring DRM keys. They are on partition to which we don't have access.
So you installed that track ID app and you made it recognize a song? Strange..
ok heres what i did, i unlocked the bootloader.
so my stock TrackID & Music Likes doesnt work.
i decided to relock my boot loader.
Stock TrackID & Music Likes still doesnt working
then i downloaded the newest TrackID on market.
The trackID is working, everyting is normal, every buttons, links, recording etc.
but still Music Likes on the default Music Player doent work

Only way to keep them is to use testpoint unlock method.
stick with the question please.
If you'll notice, not only did I stick with it, I quoted it in my answer. I was answering the first two questions, not the second two.
My reply was on-topic, and in a public forum. People can write whatever they want.
If you haven't unlock with testpoint method, then you shouldn't be able to use neither music likes or trackID, no matter what you'll do (relock bootloader etc). It's strange that you now can use track ID with the way you described, have you tried to uninstall the music likes and install it again?

3. Backup the FBMusicLikes.apk/Music Likes app
4. Uninstall the FBMusicLikes.apk/Music Likes app (its a system app so u need root)
5. Reinstall the FBMusicLikes.apk/Music Likes app
6. connect to net and try it, its now working again.

what method u used for unlocking boatloader so that i can follow ur instruction at above post?
official or unofficial?
Official I guess..coz if u unlocked unofficially(ie. via Testpoint)...then Trackid works perfectly..u wouldn't need to do this
im not sure if this method actually works...

Bravia Engine 61.0087651409% done.
It now allows for using the phone's display as a HD projector.
Practically no its not possible without open boot loader. You can't change or increase pixels without unlocking boot loader else 16 mil colors would have been out long time back

Please Help! No Bravia Engine option after Wolfrom Install
hello,
This is my first post, so please do bear with me... thank you.
I have an X10 on Orange (UK) and the stock 2.3.3 upgrade was rolled out last weekend.
I upgraded my phone to stock 2.3.3, and about two hours later rooted it (Ads were really bugging me) and then yesterday I installed the Wolfrom (Wolf_GB_2.3_TW_V4.zip) very easily using xRecovery. I followed these steps:
1) use the SE Backup & Restore for 2.3.3 (so glad this was available on this forum as I couldn't see it when I first upgraded and all my contacts etc had gone of course).
2) Boot phone in xRecovery and back up rom
3) Full Wipe, Clear cache partitions, Wipe dalvik cache
4) Install Cutom rom (as above) and then reboot phone
this worked great! And I had the rom on my phone, saw for a few seconds it worked then decided to use 2.3.3 backup and restore (had to install again) to get my contacts, messages and system settings back. I didn't check between installing the rom and restoring whether the BRAVIA engine was available, but when I look now, the Mobile Bravia Engine is NOT available in my Display Options, and I don't know if I have the battery tweaks which were mentioned in the thread installed either.
The phone defintely boots up as Wolfbreaks ROM, but I think my Restore may have messed something up, I just don't know what. Can anyone please advise?
To reiterate, i don't have the Mobile BRAVIA engine, or the new funky battery indicater (which is meant to improve battery life?), but do have the EDT tweaks app available. Can anyone help please? I will need to run a restore to keep my contacts/bookmarks at the very least - I can probably live without the text messages and mms messages. I am wondering if it was just me selecting "System Settings" when I restored that could have caused all this. Thank you so much in advance for anyone who can help.

Search for flashtool pal and use that. That will root, install xrecovery and even unlock it bootloadsr. Among other things. Basically no there isn't a risk really with rooting ur phone. It can be uprooted very easily and it opens ur phone to a world of possibilities. If u need more info feel free to send me a pm I'll help u out (not at pc at min or I would post links for u to everything u need)

If you unlock your bootloader once(with official guide, not testpoint method) the all your DRM keys(needed for TrackID)are gone forever. Doesn't matter relocked you bootloader or not.
And yes,it will work ^_^

FBMusicLikes/FBGames&Apps never worked by my side even the day I bought my phone TrackID works well.
@adridu59 it's necessary evil
Not working for me followed instructions track id works but not music like but track id the new one worked before i did this i am i doing somthing wrong ???
You have to put theFBMusicLike.apk in the data/app folder and not back in the system/app folder.
Works a treat.
Trackid confirmed working with ICS beta too, i thought it's forever gone, now it's back, nice!
I didn't bother with FB music like though.
I'm on Arc btw.
thnkz a lot got it working on my xperia arc s
here's the thing:
I have a st15i it's not rooted and with stock rom 2.3.4 .62 firm, months ago downloaded the "xperia S pack" stock apps from Xperiablog and installed the SemcMusic.apk like a normal app sucsesfully installed but it won't fit on my screen that's the only thing that sucks..... how is it that the app installed like a normal app without root??? I just don't know but it's fine for me.
here in xda there is this thread: "[MOD][APP][GB][MDPI]XPERIA-S Music Port"
I don't know if the app from here works since I'm not rooted and don't have the CWM thing,
Can anybody hepl me please?¿?¿?
PD the app i downloaded from xperiablog has this version: 4.0.A.0.27 if worths mencioning it
wrong section !!
The other music app should be the same as your first one. Your first didn't fit to your phone because it comes from a non mdpi device. The second one is ported to fit on our mdpi devices.
Normally most apks can be installed without root so nothing special. I don't know if the Sony music app requires root but I think not.

I totally overread that you havent rooted and unlocked the bootloader of your phone.
My advice is to unlock the bootloader of your phone. That will make things much easier for you.
You can flash a custom kernel for your phone which includes root and cwm.
Then you can install the xperia s music app via cwm.

Download the zip and extract the needed files manually. But you will need root for moving or replace the extracted files to your phones destination. You also need an app who can manage it.

?¿? I tried it but says aplication not installed,
I already have a file explorer, is really necesary being rooted?¿?, cuase when I installed the non mdpi musc app from xperia s it was fine just didn't fit in the screen.
and I'm actually usin a walkman app from live with walkman phone and Im not rooted
I want something like this but with the xperia s music app for mdpi devices
Yes you need root.
Android does not allow moving or replacing files on system folder without root rights.
Second, as i already wrote, not all file explorer give access to system folder. A file explorer how can managed this is root explorer. Root Explorer is not freeware so you have to buy or look after a cracked version.
If you look inside the zip file, there inside the system folder, you can see which files will be installed on your phone. Thats not less.

An easy way to get it is:
1. Get root to your phone
2. Install cwm to your phone so you can flash the zip from the thread.

My other, non-Sony Android can install ported Sony apps, incl. Walkman, through adb or from SD card, but when searching for them on PS, they don't show. What changes are needed in build.prop file to fool play store? Just replacing the manufacturer name with "Sony" doesn't do the trick. I don't want to edit too much of the build.prop, even if it is backed up.

^Did that, too, been using Walkman 8.4.A.3.1 from last year, for about a month.
Tried simple c/p the newest version from my XSP (from PS update), but the installation ended with the "Uninstall failed" error every time, even after there were no Walkman of any version on the phone. The ported one from your link installs however you want it to, but, again, I'd rather depend on online PS update, than to wait for a ported version.

Hi/Hello,
I have a Xperia U (ST25i) ROOTED, Unlocked BOOTLOADER . TA partition is not backed up. So my camera quality decreased(digital noises are present) . Is there a way to restore only the Image quality (I know DRM keys ,not possible to restore) by flashing some .ftf or zip or replacing some ".so " or .apk files in library ?
(As camera quality restoring is possible in case of xperia Z series which available in XDA at http://forum.xda-developers.com/cros...s-drm-t2930672 I am hopping it is possible to restore for Xperia U by some modified TA ).
Thanks
