I've recently updated my LG to Android 2.3.7 with Firedroid 4.2 but I've noticed a network error: the phone is unable to find any other 2/3G network than "Vodafone Omnitel N.V.". I live in Italy, but as you should know Vodafone network names are "Vodafone *country*", in my case, "Vodafone IT". Due to this, I'm paying for SMS and calls as if I'm abroad.

I have an unlocked (not debranded though) HTC 7 Mozart which is branded to T-Mobile Germany.
I have put in a UK T-Mobile SIM...and in the UK it has been working fine voice, data etc.
However, when I first went overseas with it (Italy) the data connection did not work at all..got the text message saying need a booster package etc. to use roaming data.
Responded to text to enabled data booster and T-Mobile acknowledged active...but when trying to browse internet it says "page not found" (rather than showing agreement splash screen) and emails are not syncing.
Checked that roaming enabled (yes) and also tried 3 operators (Telecom Italia, 3 and WIND) but all no good.
Wanted to check APN settings but Windows Phone 7 will not allow it (only option to add a new APN!) :-(
Other people with Tmob UK SIMs (different handsets such as Nokia E72) were working fine.
Any ideas as to what is going wrong ? (maybe Tmob Germany handset with Tmob UK SIM is not good ?).

Looks as though the answer was to Add APN with the correct UK APN settings - I think the T-Mobile German ROM must have an embedded German APN (not visible though) which you have to override by doing an Add APN.

SIM unlocked but TIM branded (Italy)
I am in Bulgaria and the operator doesn't have auto settings for internet (for this model).
I am putting them manually as the people from the mobile operator said, also written in the website.
But there is no connection!
Just Wi-Fi...
Is it because of the TIM? I know there is no logic but...
Also from the mobile operator told me that there must be some setting in the Zune when I connect the device with the computer

Yes, that approach will not work.
Get your phone on wi-fi, got into the marketplace and open "Nokia Collection". Download "Network Setup". It will set your APN's for both data and mms. Hopefully it understands your carrier and can obtain the settings.
This worked for me, I had the same issue as my phone was set for Three in the UK but I am on o2.
I have TIM version too and it works with all operators here in Serbia. JUst download app suggested and it will work

Now my phone have "H" next to the signal bars.
H is short from HDSPA. It is know as 3G+ on some Samsung models and it is the highest speeed you can get

My Dad has a MB860 (Bell version) that is unlocked. He is travelling in italy and pre-bought a SIM to use while he's there. We tested it here, and it looked like it was working. However, now that he is in Italy, the phone doesn't seem to connect to the towers (i.e. it says only Emergency Calls are allowed). However, he is able to send SMS messages.
We've tried doing a manual search for networks, and tried all the available networks in his area, but the problem still persists.
Is there a way to select the 900/2100 GSM bands?
Anyone have any ideas of what is going on or what to do next? He's getting a little frantic, not being able to call back.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I own a SCH-I905 4G LTE tablet and installed Cyanogen 4.1.2 (10-20130306-Unofficial). I don't live in the US but in Germany and would like to use the mobile network of a german provider. In the settings I find the "mobile network" with options like network mode (LTE or CDMA) but there is no possibility to do a network operator search (that category simply doesn' exist). Does anybody know a way use a german sim card in the german 3G network with the SCH-I905? Maybe by installing a different ROM or anything?

So, I have an Android tablet made by Allview ( TX1 Quasar is the model) and right now I'm in Austria and I bought a Delight Mobile (which from what I've heard is owned by T-Mobile) with 5GB of data but I can't use any of it. First I'm sure I have data 'cause they (Delight Mobile) sent me a message in which they told me that I have 5GB an so on.
From settings - mobile networks - network operators I've chosen T-Mobile 3G and I've also set the network mode to GSM/WCDMA automatically. The 3G sign appears next to the signal status lines in task-bar but for some reason it doesn't work.
I've also set two APNs, one was webuk.mundio.com which didn't work and the other was from a friend who lives in Austria ( I'm from Romania btw so I'm sorry for my broken english, I'm not used to it ) but it also didn't work. Now I don't know what to do or why I can't get my 3G to work. Any ideas ? Do you know any APN that will work here in Austria for T-Mobile - Delight Mobile ?
