Hello,
I use Office 365 (exchange 2010) for my mails, contacts end calendar. The problem with this that I can't add my account in the standard rom or any other gingerbread or ics rom. Miui seems to be the only solution.
So my question is as followed, can someone advice an ICS rom that has activesync for Office 365 working?
PS: I know the problem is because of the administrator and wipe rights and I know that 3th party apps could offer a solution but I chose not to usr them.
Thanks in advance

Hi guys,
The mail application is down ( do you know the video for sysadmin: the website is down )
I have htc hero running on villain 13.0 rom, very nice rom btw .
But I am not here to review this rom... i have problem with my mail application. I've setup my mail to my company's account few months ago, and suddenly it stops working... i tried to delete the account and add it again, but i am always getting this message:
"Failed to create the account. Please try again later"
Does some of you experience same problem? I ask my IT department for my problem, they are not aware of, they only told me that they upgrade the exchange server to 2010 version.
I've tried to setup my account, using Elelinux latest gingerbread rom, and it works like a charm!
So my conclusion is that, exchange 2011 is somehow incomaptible with android 2.1
My question is, do you maybe know some workaround, how to use mail app on android 2.1, which should be synced with exchange server 2010?
The GB roms are ok, but personally I think 2.1 sense roms are much better for our heros ...
Thanks
Kind regards,
Hi all,
There's only one thing stopping me buying an s2 and that's the android issue with undeleting exchange messages. On standard android if you delete a message in you exchange inbox (android client) by mistake you cant move it back to your inbox (or do anything useful with it). Has samsung fixed this in their flavour of android? HTC did it by replacing the exchange client with a sense version but I have no way of knowing (my searches dont find the answer) if samsung has done the same in touchwiz.
Any help for this heavy exchange user would be more appreciated.
Thanks
Matt
Just tested, and no probs going into the trash folder and choosing to move it to any folder. (sgs2 uses social hub email client now for exchange, unlike sgs1 which used stock email client mainly with the option of social hub one).
Thanks Tony, think it's time to order for me
I have a Samsung Galaxy I-9000 (Android 2.3.3). I want to sync it with my Microsoft Office Outlook on a daily basis in pretty much the same way I did my HTC Polaris: Using a cable together with ActiveSync. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Brian
Google has a download to sync the calendar with Outlook.
You can use my app Local Sync. Commercial apps are vcorganizer, companionlink, etc. however they do not provide enough value for money they ask.
Hi
I use the trial version of ANDROID-SYNC (only for 20 contacts and 20 calendar entries to sync) and it seems to work fine.
Device: htc Topaz
OS: FroYo FRX 07.1
Android sync supports only contacts and calendar and is extremely expensive for almost no features. If somebody prefers waste money then rather those apps I mentioned (although in case of companionlnk one will pay with support more than Outlook price, which is beyond insane for some trvial app cost more than Outllok itself)

@ondrejP
maybe that people want only to sync contacts and calendar. And what kind of use has a programm that is for free but do not work whis the system you have (office 2003).
by the way i took a look at local sync and it seams to be a good work. If my office will be upgreated i try it again.
outlook sync with android
I posted my answer here but later noticed (above) that my answer belongs to Q & A section of the forum. Search there for "How I sync outlook on my android device". Cheers
HTC Sync software is too good!!!!
It's the only reason I'm still hesitating to jump to a shiny new Samsung.
If there is any good alternative software that can sync Outlook (mainly contacts and calendar I guess) to Android in an offline manner (e.g. USB or WiFi, not though cloud or Gmail acct), I'd love to try it.

Hi there,
After having posted earlier about the sync problems here, I would like to find out what is causing the problem.
I have done a lot of flashing lately and am pretty sure it must be either the Calendar/Agenda or the Sync program in Android 2.3.5 that's causing the problems (not sync-ing edited items made on the Exchange/Outlook client side).
Other clients, when installed on the phone, like TouchDown for Exchange, synchronizing everything fine.
My first question would be:
Has the Activesync program on the phone been updated from Android 2.3.4 to 2.3.5?
For, if not, it must be the Calendar/Agenda app that needs to be at the origin of the problems.
Can anyone confirm this?
The other question would be:
Depending on the answer on the first question, could either the sync or the Calendar/Agenda from 2.3.4 be ported to 2.3.5?
I'll gladly be willing to test. I have tried myself to replace the apps, but I don't seem to be able to find the appropriate files.
Anyone any help?

Solved by updating to CM7 Android 2.3.7
Hi there,
Problem has been solved for me by updating to VictoryMod 2.1 (based on CM7) which is running Android 2.3.7.
Regards,
I have the same problem with google calendar sync. I have had it since I changed to 2.3.5 JVT and it's still here after changing to 2.3.5 JVU on Galaxy S. Is there a way to fix this without changing the entire rom?
I have also the same problem with GSII but I can't upload another rom, it's a company phone.
Is there anyway to have it working on GSII?
Thx, David
Exchange sync has always been iffy for me. I eliminated the problem using Google Calendar on the phone and using G-Syncit with Outlook to keep my desktop sync'd with Google. It isn't as elegant as using Exchange exclusively, but it has been flawless.
I guess it will work until I can get over the fear of migrating the Exchange Server to Google Mail.
I was on bulletproof 2.5 and the company was using exchange 2003 and everything was working just great. Then we got ics leaks and I tried couple of different roms. (Speed ROM and RMS quick-sense, on Speed-ROM 4.0 hybrid at the moment). The company switched the exchange server to 2010. Since then I have not been able to get my email. (on either ROM). It lets me create the account and authenticates the account, but then during sync, I get unknown error on exchange server ..
I have sent out email to our IT about this problem and may be they will be able to help from their side .. but may be this is a known problem and someone has already found a solution?
I looked around and someone was suggesting using AOSP email apk. So I tried that. (replaced /system/app/Email.apk with AOSP email.apk and added exchange.apk to that folder. (It was not present in that folder)
I am S-ON and on Speed-ROM 4.0 Any ideas, suggestions will be appreciated!
