I currently own a macbook pro and i am also considering buying a bluetooth keyboard for the prime. Will the apple bluetooth keyboard work with the prime? because if it does, it will serve double duty for my mac aswell as my tablet?

One of the main features of the Prime is that it's has a dock that you can purchase believe it or not. "Transforming" some would say into a netbook.

Buying a ****ty Apple bluetooth keyboard makes just about zero sense.
Just tried this with my (not so ****ty) Apple bluetooth keyboard - I can pair it but it doesn't then appear as an input device so looks like there's more to be done to make this work.
Tried it on my Galaxy Nexus and it worked fine.
As others have mentioned, the Apple BT keyboard pairs nicely with my TFP, but then ... nothing. That's as far as I got ... didn't try too hard to get it to work.
I bought an HP Touchpad BT keyboard, and it works nicely (about $30). Now I have the TFP dock and use that most of the time -- it took me a week or so, but I am now used to the keys and can type well on it (that right Shift key was tough). The shortcut keys on the dock are also quite handy. The HP TP BT keyboard does have nice big keys, however, and would be tempting if I had a ton of typing to do.
The HP BT keyboard even works well with my little LG Optimus V (running custom Gingerbread ROM) phone, when needed. I find soft keyboards (esp. on phones) to be quite annoying to type on.
Works fine for me...
try using bluekeyboard jp
Try downloading and installing bluekeyboard jp from the market others have gotten it to work with their phones and this app. It supposedly fixes the hid issue, though i thought that it was addressed in ics. Keep us posted on whether you get it to work, good luck.
I had no problems pairing and using it to type

Anybody find a decent speaker/dock system for the Gtab? Something like this:
http://the-gadgeteer.com/2010/11/15/jensen-jips-250i-ipad-speaker-dock/
We're not likely see anything like that for the g tablet unfortunately: there just isn't a large enough user base for mainstream accessory manufacturers to be interested.
Welcome to life on the fringes.
Funny, i was at Target thinking the same thing. I saw this same item and had hoped I could find some thing similar for the GTab.
I wish the basic dock had audio out. I was thinking about leaving the dock and a set of PC speakers here in my office. Not as elegant, but effective.
Get hdmi speakers.

I said the same thing a while back but found pricier speakers that used hdmi in the end.
Has anybody tried using some portable bluetooth speakers with the Gtab?
These look interesting. I'm not really looking for a booming system. Just want something I can take on vacation to enhance the stock, internal speakers.

look for a set of good quality PC speakers. Sound is great and they are fairly small.
Just ordered one of these:

Let us know how those Altec Lansings work. I'm curious about having a portable speaker system that I can take on trips as well.
Will do. In the meantime, here's the video that convinced me to give it a shot. The price isn't bad at all either - just $25 shipped.

Creative has a portable bluetooth speaker: D100
http://us.store.creative.com/Creative-D100-Portable-Bluetooth-Wireless-Speaker/M/B003N9SR00.htm
I have the Creative D200 and the Creative ZiiSound D5 which are both excellent.
I also use the Belkin stereo bluetooth dongle which works well:

That bluetooth dongle looks pretty sweet. Any complaints about the range on it?

Asus Padfone is coming out & it is shown with a stylus so I wonder if
1.they have done some sort of software offering that might be available that can improve stylus use for us and
2.what their stylus will be like and if it is even theirs?
You can see it

It's probably just a generic bluetooth headset shaped into a case that doubles as a stylus. Even if it is compatible with any other device, I still wouldn't use it as it defeats the whole purpose of using bluetooth in the first place!
You use bluetooth so you don't have to hold your phone to your ear and/or to listen to music without headphone wires getting in the way, right? so why switch holding your phone to your ear for holding your stylus instead? While at the same time losing your ability to listen to music to boot (even if it's capable, the sound quality would be crappy without an ear bud!) And on top of that, what if you need to take notes from the call you're using your stylus to listen in on...?
It's cute, but I wouldn't trade my S305 or my LG Tone or my PX5's for it. Honestly Asus... -facepalm-
Personally I love the idea. For people who needs to use one they could always buy a proper headset. A stylus-headset is very useful if you are just playing/working with your tablet and you can easily take a call without needing to fiddle with a bluetooth or wired headset.
What I don't like about the Padfone though is how they are using a generic capacitive stylus rather than a proper electro-magnetic resonance stylus. That's pretty much a deal breaker for me. (Unless the Atmel Maxstylus turns out to work on it) Now we have the Galaxy Note 10.1 coming out with a proper stylus but I just love Asus's keyboard dock way too much. Decisions, decisions.

Hey guys! I just bought a Palm Folding Bluetooth Keyboard for my Note. I thought it would be the perfect companion for my Note especially since I have a case with a kickstand. Do any of you have one? How well does it work? Mine won't get here until next week so...

How much?
I bought it used for $29.99 + $5.00 shipping, they seem to be MUCH more expensive everywhere else on eBay.. funny I believe these were cheaper before the iPad came out and "Tablets" became popular.
The issue with my by keyboard (not palm) is that every time I connect it makes me switch to the Samsung soft keyboard. Total pain.

My Moto BT keyboard switches the phone to Samsung kb also. It must be either 2.3.6 or TW doing it, rather than our hardware. But it is a pia to switch back every time.

have the same one, but branded HP. It works well, i wrote a guide somewhere here (topic titled "just got this for my note!") the only thing is, the note wont stand up in portrait mode of the stand, and to make it work in landscape you have to clip off the two protruding tabs on the flip up stand.

Mine no longer does anything when I press and hold the BT pairing key in the top left; oddly at first at did give me blinkies and my N7 saw it, but had trouble pairing. I've tried numerous batteries and even voltage tested to make sure they were good.Anyone have suggestions?
Anyone know if the dock for the original 7 inch tab will also fit the tab2 or if there is another solution for this .
Cheers

I know no one has replied, but have you found an answer to your question some where else? I am very interested to know!
No not yet, waiting on a seller on ebay to let me know if the genuine kits he has will fit, or if i am able to return it if it doesnt fit., will let you know what happens.
Cheers
Stephen
Been told that no the dock for the original 7 inch tab or tab plus does not fit the tab2 , great shame as the only other option is the brodit holder, which i am not keen on. By the time i purchase that and the correct bracket for my car the cost will be over £50 which is way too much for a holder i can only use in one vehicle.
What about something like the Arkon Universal mount for you? I use mine once in a while, and it works on my Galaxy Tab and original iPad. Plus, its not tied to one device or one car.

How frequently do people dock their tablet in their car?
I suppose it would make a nice GPS, though i don't have data or teathering available for mine.
I just can't imagine what i would dock a tablet in a car for.

Using the tablet as GPS is great for long trips. Recently found an offline GPS app that is pretty solid (although it is a full download of any map, separated by state in the US, not sure worldwide): NavFree
I use Co pilot live.the whole us but its 1.4gb local storage

This is probably a very stupid question, so feel free to laugh. I also have no clue how to properly word this into a search, so I figured I would ask and see if anyone has run into the same issue.
I have a bluetooth OBD-II sensor for my car, and currently it works perfectly with my phone. My issue is I would also like to use my Nook color simultaneously with the adapter. First, the bluetooth range in the nook is abysmal and cant talk to the adapter from my dash. Second, it appears only one device can talk with the adapter at once.
My question is: Is there a way to tell the nook to talk to my phone for the data it needs? Kind of like piggybacking off my phone for the OBD-II data? I already use wifi-tethering and tether gps to share data and gps with my nook, so I think it would be possible.
Thanks for reading this and bearing with me
I don't know if you can piggyback, but you can log the information and copy it I think. I'm not sure though. I haven't tried it.
Yes you can transfer the the logs, it exports to different formats if I'm not mistaken
Yea I know about the exporting logs. I guess I mean to say I'd like to use both devices for real time data simultaneously (more screen real-estate to see gauges and info), but it's a crack dream at best lol.
Maybe a fancier obd-ii bluetooth thingy would allow multiple connections. But thanks for y'alls input
Maybe the creator of torque can help. Email him, ask him if it's a possibility.
Not possible. I do them same as you. Uses torque daily. It's one device or the other. Your using a Elm 327 obdII adapter. Right?

Yea http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008TL6RT0/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01 is the one I got. It works marvelously for those wondering if the el cheapo's work. Would just like to use it on multiple devices at once :silly:
That is pretty sweet, I have an old serial port odb2 scanner might be time to upgrade, much easier to use a phone then a laptop and a ton of cables
Well I ended up simply mounting my nook close enough to the sensor to where the bluetooth doesn't cut out.

Since wifi tethering and gps tethering work wonders, I think I'm going to stick with this location for the nook. It's out of the way and I can still glance at the gauges whenever I need. Thanks everyone for their help and input though =D
