[Q] stock wallpapers location? - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Where are stock wallpapers kept on x10 mini pro? Ive heard on other threads theyre here:
System/customize/..
However this folder doesnt exist on my mini pro. Using X-plore file manager, root access with mount writeable.
Using nAa kernel 10 with MiniCM7 by nAa

Well, on the stock rom they're kept in...deep breath..
system\etc\customization\content\com\sonyericsson\homescreen\wallpaper\
I don't know about MiniCM7 but I wouldn't have thought it'd be much different.

Thanks, but I cant find that folder, thinking perhaps it is my file explorer which is the problem

It's not your file explorer. I've just had a look through the zip file you flash to get the rom. Used a PC and a mouse..so much faster!
Anyway, there's nothing there. If you've got the images, I can only think that they must be inside an application somewhere.. SystemUI, perhaps?

Thanks, i'll take a good look on my PC and find that folder!

[Q] Themes on free x10...easy question thanks to first answer

i have free x10 beta 4, i am kinda a noob but im trying to install http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=964364 and i cant find a guide to install themes on free x10...ive seen them for 2.1 1.6 and cyanogen but no free x10 anyone know?
I can tell you there are plenty of themes for freex10. Because when i used that rom i tried different themes. Search the apps&themes section for froyo themes.
Now, can i have my thanks
Ps. Minimalistic black&white was my favorite

If its .rar file you have to extract it first. I use astro file manager for that or androzip, both free in the market.
Then you can flash that extracted file with xrecovery.

Why would you want to do that, you can just restore the backup.
Dont forget the backup holds lots of personal info on it, so you dont want to share it....
Just curious as to why you would want to do this?
The data portion contains sensitive info right??? Not the system.img isn't it
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
I wanna make my own Rom and share it with ppl... I've added toggle panel to notification bar, changed animations in framework-res, changed icons in systemui, did some build.prop tweaks, some out-of-memory manager tweaks, took some apps from the arc s firmware, removed some preinstalled apps and added some apps to system partition itself (like browser replaced with opera, titanium backup included in system partition, applied adblocker...) and many other things.... I hope that qualifies me to call it my *own* ROM????

Oh ok,
You need to use sdk and pdk software to make your own roms, I am sure its much easier that way.
Just google them and download
PS, just themeing a custom rom doesnt make it your own, but developing from the stock rom in any way does, especially if it more than just the UI. Circular battery mod and other UI's are easily achieved in UOT, but changing OOM values and build.prop is different, as long as you know the benefits you are making
I've made changes to stock only. Not on anyone else's custom ROM. Yes did make some oom changing scripts. (umm.. Yep I guess I know what changes and what advantages. Lol) also removed some stock-ware added better alternatives like go sms n dialer in place of stock ones.

I have the android sdk. I'll get the pdk... But what after that?? How to make the zip file of the ROM?
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Just pull (with adb or root explorer) everything you changed then make a flashable zip of that. No need to post a whole rom, just call it a mod or theme...
Btw I'm not even a proper firmware-tinkerer.. Far from being a dev or anything. I'm just a humble 12th grade student. Still pretty much in my teens.. Lol
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Ok that's a good idea now... Lemme see if I can pinpoint which files I need to pull and which I can do without.... But about the zip thing.... I never really understood the certificate thingy... That meta.inf and all... What is that about??? Basically how to create a flashable zip??
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Same here, I am not a dev, but I teach 12 grade!!!
As far as I know that can be done with apk manager, the update zips I use are generally borrowed from other zips, as I only mod things others have done for myself, or make them in UOT.
Try getting in touch with a dev called DooMLoRD
He is very good and friendly (Also from your neck of the woods) but he is very busy. He helped me out inmy noob days, and I am sure he will help you if he has the time.
Ya he did seem helpful.... I know him of course... Anyone who aspires to overclock their xperia knows him....lol... But ya he is busy usually.... And he's more of a deep dev...tinkering with kernels....not the one to make custom ROMs and all isn't it???
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
So what I can do is take the zip of someone's rom, keep the certificate in it. Remove all other files, add mine into it and voila I'm done???
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
I've made a lot of modifications to my stock rom, and would like to share it.... so is system.img a valid way to share my *own* rom or mod ? (valid as in technically feasible? means ppl can d/l it n flash using recovery n use it?)
my main concerns are... will it boot on someone else's device? (i tried it myself... total wipe + clean stock instal, followed by flashing only my backed up system.img, *didn't flash data.img, only system* it took an eternity to boot first time but it ran)
second concern... system.img doesn't have any personal data right? logs, msgs etc are in data partition i guess??

you sure it won't fail? I have the zip file used for xrecovery, that's my only option to get rid of LG's crappy launcher.
it'd be great to have this info cause I have no idea how to restore this phone
edit:
nevermind the zip file containing arc launcher 2.3.4 is not getting installed, i says the operation was aborted due to the script being created in android 1.5.
no idea though
Try extracting the zip and install it like a normal apk
somehow any attempt gives me the old SE launcher and looks quite weird in the lower part, I guess is not design for 4.3 inch screens

xperia mini will not charge when turned off

Hello everyone, I have a problem with xperia stock rom and mini gingerbread 2.3.4. I can not charge the phone when it is off because it starts in Android, and if I turn it off it starts again. What could have happened? I have to change something in the file chargemon? someone can upload the original file chargemon of gingerbread? thanks
This happend to me and more ppl when they install cwm. Anyway iam on ics so dunno if my file can help. If you install cwm also you just need overwrite file "charge" and set permission.

to me in the system / bin is just the file chargemon, I tried to put the charge of ics files but does not work the same ... I can upload the files charge of gingerbread? thanks
I think this is kernel related, maybe you could flash some more recent rom?
I read around that is a problem of the cwm, you can not solve?

Question- How to make touch work?

Hi,
I have been trying to flash a custom rom made for Xperia X8 devices to my X10 mini pro but the touch doesn't works after flashing..
Is there a way by which I can modify the flashable zip so that touch works.
I have done this much so far..
1. Downloaded X8 rom and unzipped using root explorer.
2. Replaced system/app, system/framework and system/lib folders of my working rom with the X8 rom folders and zipped file and flashed. This worked but I think this will not give desired result completely.
When I directly flashing Xperia X8 rom, touch does'nt works..which is understandable due to resolution issues..so my question is which other folders I need to modify from the X8 zip. Is it going to work if I lower the density from 160 to 120 in build.prop and then flash..
If there is any link which can make me learn porting roms and understanding the importance of different sub folders in a rom zip that will be helpful.
Sorry if I sounded dump here but I want to learn things..

On build.prop change lcd.density to 120
And copy bin from base to your port rom
Follow this guide
Anything to done to system/lib/module folder?

Is not stock kernel??
if. on lib/module delete files inside except .placeholder.
I flashed as you suggested..everthing is working but when I tried root explorer it does not allows me to edit folders..checked SU user and it says su binary not found.
I tried in market but there is no su binary updater tool. Can you help here?
