X10 Stucked at DoomKernel Logo during boot up - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So basically I've just unlocked my bootloader last night. Used three hours to do so. And Before I slept, I flashed DoomKernel v06-1113 and everything was fine. SO I decided to flash DoomKernel V06 as it is said to be highly recommended for the rom I want, "FeraLab" So, I flashed V06 and the next thing that happen was the phone just stucks at DoomKernel Logo. Lasted for 20mins or so. I decided to pull out the battery and inserted it again. Stucked at DoomKernel Logo AGAIN but this time the screen gets dimmer after 4 secs or so. And the whole thing just seem to reboot again. And it goes on and on and on. Decided to take out the battery and just leave it like this hoping it would somehow work the next morning. The same problem just go on and on. But there was once, the whole thing fully rebooted and finally start up. I tried putting the freq to max on Set CPU and it went into reboot again. Straight. Now things just go back like before. Kept rebooting over and over again. I'm hoping for an answer ASAP as I'm gonna need to use my phone for a really really long time later this afternoon. Am going out for basketball practice now and will be checking for any replies. PLEASE AND THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Am gonna try using PC companion to repair. Hope it's a correct choice cuz I dont seem to be able to enter the xrecovery mode
Still waiting for more guidance. Help is much appreciated

PC companion never got to fully repair it cuz the part where they prepare the computer to update took too long and it never moved. Decided to try downloading SEUS to repair.

it would seems like ur x10 cant handle OC. i suggest u try the FS version
check it at DL thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21214246&postcount=1356
here is the thread. try the 3rd option (FS)
remember to flash the wifi module as well

Thanks for your reply but like I said, I cant seem to enter xrecovery. How am I able to flash the rom?

allright buddy i will tell you exactly what you need to do
first thing go to this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21214246#post21214246
and download the medium overclocked version of the doom kernel which means the v06-1113 doom kernel i have the same problem my phone reboots as well if i used the 1228Mhz version it is just that it can't handle itand you have got that one flashed on your phone so go ahead and flash the v06-1113 doom kernel through flashtool an then it will let you go to xrecovery and i am also using the FeraLab v4
and it works perfect and you can visit the FeraLab rom page by clicking the link below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1458001

Problem solved. Thanks for your help anyway

What I did was I used PC Companion to repair it and flashed v06 1113 into it. Thanks alot for your time and help =)

LOL the link i provided is for kernel, .ftf file. it was meant to be flash by flashtool.
as u know, the kernel provide 3 type of kernel (details at Doom's thread), once u flash the kernel, u will able to enter the boot manager (or any recovery that u want)
just wanted to clarify.
glad ur problem solve, but using this method would be easier as u does not need to reconfigure again. personally experienced it b4

But I thought you'll need to turn on your phone, get it connected to FT with it recognizing your phone, then select the file you want to flash, unplug it, turn it off and then enter flash mode. My phone din't seem to be able to be recognized by FT while it was soft bricked

My suggestion is don't go for ICS ROMs... they eat battery and your phone will have to be charged once every 10 hrs... so stick to gingerbread... go for tech devils ROM which is super light and long battery....

well, i kinda agree in some of ya point that ics in x10 does eat more battery energy, but X10 it've done its best for 4" screen resolution 480*854, single core 1GHz with only 288MB RAM max. Many people still looking forward for it in ics though. And battery hours in ics (if just message, wifi, phonecall, alarm) can stand up to 3days (until battery 10% left) depending governor and frequency ya set. But if HD gaming, gingerbread still works great because it'meant for gaming including emulating games.

Depends to person liking. For me, Xperia S ICS CM9 by senior Vashista reddy. Great RAM freed and smoothness. Enough for wifi, call, music, 6MP camera uncompressed, but not video camcording or play. Older version still works great and smooth. But newer version jellycream got some fixes needed to be implemented. hope helps.

try using flashtool. directions are in the link.
U mentioned you have a x10i correct, then pick the firmware you want with the x10i with the latest baseband. if you still have questions, keep asking.
rooting is next if you go that route then, flashing ROMS, which are associated with a baseband
here is the link for flashtool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
Yeah dude, use flashtool.... just flash it back... tht worked for me... i bricked my phone once.... now its rollin again....

ok, i`ll try...
i can`t place my phone in Flashmode he gonna automatic to the Sony Ericsson logo...
What did i wrong?...
fire up SEUS, get to the bit where it say to connect your phone.
take the battery out for 10 seconds or so..
plug the micro USB cable into your phone only..
hold the back key (and keep it held until SEUS tells you to release it later in the process), push the battery back in
push the USB cable into your PC.
Should boot up into flash mode and SEUS will do it's thing!.
Done it before
Hi mate done it today since im new at rooting if you were trying to install a theme or rom, you might not have their firmware, if this is the case then you just from that Sony Ericsson screen keep pushing the Back or <-- key, this will boot you into xrecovery and just restore... if you havent made a back up, then you could try replace the rom you have back with the Se offical 2.1 rom which you can find in Android dev. and just launch it back with that... Hope this worked!!

[Q] Help! My x10 is dead!

I tried flashing the new CM7 ROM (cheers J) and I turned it on after backing up, wiping and flashing absolutely everything I had to. It went through the normal startup and then after the "Sony Ericsson" logo it said at the top of the screen "Loading custom kernel. Bye!" It then showed the CM7 logo and spent around 5 minutes booting up. I then got the WLOD and my phone just died really ever since then. Every time I turn it on, even when plugging it into the charger, I get a vibration and then the screen gets stuck on the "Sony Ericsson" page and won't change (I left it for 5 hours like that and it didn't change. Also, no matter how much I spam the back button, it will not enter xRecovery. I am slightly worried as I am meant to be going abroad this Wednesday and will definately need it then. Can anyone help me?

SEUS won't recognize my phone... I got it sorted by reflashing the original 2.1 from SE and then rerooting and reflashing xRec so now its practically back to normal. Only thing is though, I can't get rendeiro2005's [ROM][MAY24]BlackEditionHD_1.4_SE[Gingerbread 2.3.4] to work (link here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13755473#post13755473) coz everytime I try, I just get WLOD and a reboot cycle. SE Xperia X10a refuses to boot no matter what

Okay, I was told to go here since people on AndroidForums.com had no clue on what to do.
Okay, here are my problems -
I received this Android from my mom and it was running Android 2.1. When I first got it, I turned it on without charging it. It booted up, came to the lockscreen, then about a second later turned off and now refuses to boot. I have tried flashing it with generic Android 2.1 and Stock ATT Android 2.1. But it refuses to do nothing but flashes a green light and vibrates. But that all it does. And PC Companion, SEUS, FlashTool have done nothing! So what do I do now? It accepts Flashes and restores, but it's like the Boot Files are corrupted. And I cannot JTAG, so is there any other options?
Thanks in Advanced,
NetworkLabs

I had quite the similar issue with my x10i. One day it just decided to stop working completely. No lights no nothing, tried everything, just dead. So I contacted SE and they said they could do nothing if the software had been tampered with, no matter how much I assured them if was a hardware related fault.. So I went to my carrier and they sent me to a phone repairing company (Fonemenders here in Ireland), who try fix the phone themselves by getting parts in from the manufacturers. If they deem your phone irreparable they will get you a new replacement. This is exactly what happened me. So the other day I received an email saying that seeing as my x10 couldn't be fixed, I'd be receiving a Sony Arc as a replacement! So i'm happily waiting for the Arc to get here while I use my moms old x8.
So my best advice if nothing is working, go to your carrier and hopefully they can get you through to a phone repairing place, and I wish you as good luck as my own
Well, I cannot replace the Phone since I am not really using it as a Phone. It will not be activated, it's just to mess around with. And I really don't want to buy a Samsung Galaxy Player just so I don't have to deal with this. So I'm going to try the Stock ROM now and see if it works. Do I have to wait for boot up or something?
Try to flash with SE Companion. It will work.
Well, I restored using SEUS because it's the only one that recognized the phone, other than FlashTool. After it restored, it said Unplug the phone and wait for first time. It will take a while. So I am currently doing that. Hope it turns on!
Well, I've restored it and it still sits here. What's next?
I am going to try to flash it using s1tool and see if that helps. Also, can someone please respond with what they think is wrong?
Okay, here's another question - In order to load the firmware you told me, does my Bootloader have to be UNLOCKED? If so, how do I do that without ROOT... Because I cannot do anything with the Phone.

I have a question for you... is the phone rooted ? If not then try following
1) start your PC companion and select update software
2) if software say, your phone is up to date then use here will be repair option you need to select it.
3) once you select repair it will download stock GB 2.3.3 and after download it will ask you to plug you phone in flash mode
4) remove phones battery and connect the phone to your laptop.
5) now place the battery back while holding down the back button (3rd button from left) { this step is important as this will get your phone into flash mode.
6) above steps should get your phone back onto stock unrooted ROM...
if you want then use flash tool to root it again but be careful with kernels and bootloader
Set from my Transforer TF101 using xda app-developers app
Well, I think I have tried that and it still won't boot. But I will try again. (PS - Sorry for this old thread, but I just needed a break on working on it! I am going to try again and see if it works!)

[Q] Blank Screen After Flashing Custom ROM

I have been visiting this site ever since I first read about X10 & was fascinated by it (I have always loved SE phones). Anyway, I have since gotten an X10i (AT&T) & have de-branded it as well as unlocking & rooting it. Here goes:
I installed Champs' Rom (x10sV9-addon) but didn't want all the clutter he had pre-installed. To make a long story short, I went back to Wolf's ROM via Xrecovery but something went wrong. I can no longer boot into Xrecovery & after SonyEricsson logo, screen goes blank, not black/blue just blank. The other problem is, since I can't see the screen, I can't turn on the USB connection so my PC/Flashtool/SEUS can recognize my device so I can fix it. This happened while trying to re-install Wolf's ROM & installing the following zip files via Xrecovery: Bravia_Xloud engine, Xperia S Player, Champ + Bar, x10_gb_stock_wifi_modules. Then I rebooted & I get the blank screen. I know it is on because I can turn the volume all the way down to vibrate. The "home" button still lights up. PLEASE, I need someone's help with this one as I am no expert, just a moderate tinkerer. ANY help/incite would be appreciated. Sorry, I can't even give you any screenshots. Can anyone out there help me out? Thanx in advance.

RE: Blank Screen After Flashing Custom ROM
Thanx for getting back to me so fast. As I said, the screen is blank. That is, the backlit display works but I can see nothing else. The "Home" button lights up when i press it but the display does nothing. If/When I reboot to try to enter XRecovery, I see the SonyEricsson logo followed by the backlit screen & nothing else. The Volume up/down buttons work as I am able to silence the phone by turning volume all the way down to vibrate. Because I cannot see what's on the display, I cannot turn USB on/off to connect to PC to run SEUS/Flashtool, etc. I.E. I cannot fix the device. Usually I just boot into XRecovery to fix a problem like this but that doesn't work.

hy, install sony update service and repair your phone, then install again custom rom, the indications how to repair your phone software is in the program.

I wish I had gotten this solution sooner. Not sure if it would have mattered. When trying to use Flashtool I kept getting an error saying my phone was not in "flash mode".
I solved my problem by flashing using Omnius & flashing firmware 'X10i_generic_SE_24_MultiTouch.rar'. This got my phone back but it was only 2.1 so I used 'DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su' to get me back to 2.3, but this is where I'm at. I had Wolf's firmware before but right now I have no xRecovery installed. I thought I had rooted my phone but xRecovery isn't installed nor is Busybox.. Any ideas? Thanx in advance...EVERYONE @ XDA-DEVELOPERS rox!

C if u can repair phone using SEUS now. Open the software without connecting phone. N then go to the update part. It should give u a repair option. Then follow those steps. Or else just connect ur phone n then start software. When it tells u ur phone is up to date click on that n then click on "repair". Then use the latest flashtool to root. Recoveries come with kernels so just flash a custom kernel.

I'm currently running Wolf's Rom (many thanx!!!) & am very satisfied w/all your help homey! You da man!
I noticed you are running ICS on your X10i. Any help so that I may partake of that deliciousness?

Ur welcome i don't think u need help you just flashed a custom ROM.. the procedure for installing ICS is the same. Although it'd be better if you are on stock before installing it.. just look for an ICS ROM that u like (I'm using feralab n it works like a charm).
Get the kernel n ROM.. as usual, put the ROM zip on ur SD card, flash the kernel, install ROM from recovery
Although before installing:
1. In recovery go to mounts n storage
2. Format system data n cache
3. Mount system, data n cache (note that if the mounting is successful the options should change to unmount system, unmount data, unmount cache respectively)
4. Then install ROM
5. The installer is GUI based so it'll guide u really well through the installation

[Q] X10 mini restarts continuosly when plugged in wall/USB

Morning everyone
i have tried to search the forums with a similar problem, but i couldnt find a solution to this.
NOTE; If there is, please provide a link to the post, i'll appreciate that.
So this is what happened :
i flashed the phone with custom rom ( MiniCM9/JB/ICS) successfully..but after finding that the camera didnt work with one of the roms ICS i think, i reverted back to the original e10i kernel.
the problem with this is that PC Companion couldnt update my phone, as it didnt recognise it, it only said SONY/SONY ERICSSON phone..apart from that, the battery seems to have died out, i tried charging it on the wall plug but it would boot up and display the SONY ERICSSON logo and after a few seconds, restart. it doesnt seem to charge the phone but rather gives it a 'boost' to boot up. it does the same thing when plugged in the laptop. Now, the baterry seems to have been depleted completely as the red led flashes while still connected in flash mode.
I expected a big battery icon to display when i charged it on the wall plug but i got the boot logo...and restarts..SEUS said i have the latest software..PC companion couldnt ''repair'' it because the battery would run out while still connected in flashmode.
Please assist me in anyway.
thanks
AGAIN : if there is a problem somewhere in the forums PLEASE direct me to it, i dont wanna cause any spam on the forums.
Thank you

Your main problem is that you still have the custom ROM although you're back on stock kernel. Try to flash this with flashtool.
downloading

Thanks bro..i'm downloading it now will try it after an hour or so..have to go to a friends house for a laptop..thanks to lighting storm. Anyway i'll keep you updated with the process.
After doing so can i flash custom rom?(i'd like to think so, just confirming to ease my conscience lol) and currently which is the most stable rom between the aforementioned roms? Just looking for your opinion.
Thanks again.

Yes, your bootloader will remain unlocked, so you will be able to flash custom kernels and roms, no problem.
They are working on a fix for the camera, and the first one updated will be MiniCM9 i think, but for now MiniCM7 (or other gingerbread based roms) remains the best performing option for our phones.
fail

Smg, i tell you, Yesterday was not my xperias day. My data bundles depleted while it had gone 80% (i think) into the download, i then recharged for another 100MB unfortunately i was using my ageing 6730c on Opera mini n the download couldnt resume! So i'd like to know, how big is the file itself because when it started, it said 114MB it reached that size and kept on going till 188MB i guess that's how much bundles i had. Anyway will try to get a wifi hotspot.
I think i'll go with the MiniCM7 for now till further development is made for these ROMS. A very big up to the developers.
Till i get that file! Later

Yes, sorry about that.. it's the original SE stock 2.1 firmware and it comes in at about 210mb, although the site keeps saying differently, i don't know why it does that. You need to flash it with flashtool.
success
hey bro....guess what..it worked. I ended up downloading the file via a blackberry lol anyway it was 210MB...215 in fact..anyway my phone is fixed and ready for customisation. A very big Thank u man. I'm just waiting for it to fully charge because it was completely drained i was lucky it survived the original stock flashing.
Thanks for the time and energy you put in. I really appreciate it. Cant wait to get my Samsung Galaxy Gio lol i know its a bit old now but it hasn't seen the 'other side' of the grass.
