If you are simply interested in playing the files you have stored there, open Windows Media Player and they will be listed in the Playlist menu item.

sd card use

Im new to xda's and pocket pc's ...I just bought a sx56 and am trying to figure out how to download music from my pc to the sd card on my sx56 via the active sync connection....the amount of space available on my device is very little and so I dont want to use it up but it wont let me store any music directly from pc to the sd card..I can drag and drop files to the sd card but then it wont read it be cause the format is not changed!!
Your music files need to have the extension .mp3 or .wma if you're using the Windows Media Player shipped with the SX-56.
What is the extension of the file(s) you're copying to your SD card?
in activesync you can choose explore device
and then pick mypda or something that gets you out of
the my doc dir and then you can access your sdcard
that way and it auto converts files which require that
i always just use a sdcard reader to copy and i never had any problems reading the music files

Explore the card via PC, and see if there is a file named ".nomedia" present in the parent folder that the music is in?

Shuttle Music Player fail! Please, help!

Welcome,
I have Shuttle Music Player app - a really nice music player for Android. But I have a problem with it.
Last month I created .nomedia file to make some folders disappeared in Gallery. But first localization of .nomedia was external SD card. After creating .nomedia there Shuttle didn't recognize any music file. This is normal, I know. But after deleting .nomedia Shuttle still not recognizing music files. Reinstall didn't help. Someone can tell me, why?
[EDIT] In stock music player is the same situation.

Try unmounting and mounting your SD card in Settings > Storage.
I had the same concern.
Removing and re-installing the external SD-CARD fixed the concern.

As has been mentioned before: unmounting and re-mounting the SD card should solve the problem, maybe a simple reboot of your device could be used also.
A short explanation why you have been facing this problem. As far as I know, Shuttle uses the Android media library, which is built up by the internal media scanner of your device. This media scanner runs at start-up of your device or when a storage is mounted, e.g. your SD card. When you place a .noMedia file in a folder to exclude it, the media scanner will ignore all files in this folder. When you delete the .noMedia file, you have to trigger the scanner to re-scan all files, so that the files from the formerly excluded folder ca be re-integrated into the media library and such being available again for music player apps or gallery apps.
Hi.
I'm trying to use this player, I organize mp3s in folders.
My problem is that mp3s are played only if they are in the root, internal or external sd.
if they are inside folders, they simply don't play.
