Quite excited about this. It's getting a bit stale with the same type of themed roms at the moment. They all based on stock or Kang cm's with the same scripts just differently themed. (I'm not ungrateful for the hard work that goes into them by the way) just nice to see something new is all.

That's because we don't have much choice with scripts...Only really awesome scripts we have are Turbo boost and all the other scripts from slaid480.Also,i think pyronia released some scripts recently...If you think those are enough, then go check the forums of other devices like SGS.they have many many awesome scripts...We have some good roms but not much scripts and i am pretty happy with what we have, both Turbo boost and all of slaid's scripts are awesome...
Btw,hope we get the official version soon..

HaHa i like ur enthusiasm but the released cm7 would come in the form of a nightly or maybe rc1, devices are added through an automated buildbot which then updates that website on the fly. If the site goes down it would more likely be for maintenance purposes. Fingers crossed though

According to Kolja Dummann, there will be no Nighty for cooper
he stated it somewhere in his GOOGLE plus account,
saying "there will be NO nighty for ace , due to less computing power"
There will be NO nighty for Cooper!
originally posted by Kolja Dummann (in his Google plus account )
"Kolja Dummann - +Daniel Correia the device is merged so the next official release will support cooper, but we have no nighlies cause of not enough computing power available."

On Cyanogenmod's official site "ACE" refers to HTC Desire HD aka HTC Ace. I don't think they will ever merge our SGA on their site now. If they wanted to they would have done it already.

if cyanogenmod developer says there would be official release then whats point in your thinking so much on it?? galaxy ace is not gonna be named 'ACE' btw..
So any major difference between that coming official version and the one (unofficial) version which is available in development section ?

We already know Galaxy ace codename is cooper ....
Why will they NOT merge cooper ?
What did Kolja Dummann say ?
He said "official cyanogenmod 7.2 will suppport cooper"
So did cyangenmod "offical" 7.2 release for any phone ????
No right so wait

yeah, hell!!! ICS sdk is out!!!
But ...
as i've seen in the API changelog, its a long way to get all things work again.
a lot of changes in hardware code, lot of changes in UI code ... this means we have
to create a lot of workarounds again for our P500 device
and, the big question is:
can we use the user space drivers from gingerbread as we was doing this in ginger when porting from froyo??? questions over questions ...

Hi there guys,
I just read about Android 4.0,released today. As I promised from june,I wil try to port it to you guys (even because I'm not working at any project now).
The first alpha will be available in few days (if all goes well),maybe one week. I already got the SDK dump,so i could try to make it boot, but I prefer using sources. BTW,when CyanogenMod 9 will be released(CM8 is some crappy Honeycomb),I'll make CM9 port.
EDIT: I can't make the SDK boot. Libs are built from ARMv7,but we're ARMv6. So wait for sources to be released.
SOME INFOS:
ROM will be based on .32 kernel tree, then I'll switch to .35
Nothing in mind now.
Current status: Planning to download sources. I need to ask some help too, because I don't know for good this AOSP stuff. Will probably ask to lupohirp

What? ICS is for tablets as well as phones. I don't see any reason for it to look bad because of a small screen size.
I've been playing around with ICS in the emulator, and I've been wondering what the advantages will be for us over Gingerbread.
The UI overhaul seems nice enough, though ICS seems to be designed for devices with no hardware menu button. In the native apps included, there is a bar at the bottom which has buttons that were normally hidden and accessed by the menu button.
This basically means we'll be losing screen space in ICS, unless this bar can be hidden for devices that do have a dedicated menu button, though I couldn't find the option in the emulator.
The ram usage is more than double that of Gingerbread (45MB vs 98MB). Luckily our O1 phones will be able to manage this fine (mine is currently using 159MB, with 243MB free) but for other phones the upgrade is going to render them useless.
The big problem is going to be the sheer size of ICS. In the Gingerbread emulator the system.img is 89MB but for ICS it is 167MB. Which is of course the bare minimum for the emulator, 'real' Android with Gapps etc is bigger. CM7.1 takes up 154MB of the 190MB /system partition on my phone. To get ICS on our O1 we'll probably have to do some partition resizing, which means a smaller /data partition for our installed apps.

I'll quote myself here :
Certainly mik has NOT abandoned us, its just matter of watching his GIT, the last changes were ~5 days ago... Also he visits XDA p500 forum almost everyday (just check his online activity in his profile)....
And AFAICT i think he's currently updating to 7.2 cm7, so its matter of time, he's probably also fixing some ****e... Mmm, my ETA guess of v6.5.9 / 6.6.2 is: Xmas Present and next year i hope to see mik porting ICS CM9

Cm7.2 nightlies are not continuing either, an update from cm team about cm9 status report... Which they already working on the last final update and bam! New nightlys are in... Like cm-galaxysmtd-full-0.zip!!! <<< The "0" is a new nightly which has new ICS!!!
Maybe mik is watching the cm-git before building... There is some new goodies in the new nightly and im sure mik is gonna cherry picking!

@DixElectron:
Still 7.2 is the most updated code (ceratinly that doesnt make it the more stable) and mik can or will gather some new code from there and he'll release a v6.5.9 / v6.6.2 i guess?? based on gingerbread....
You should watch his git and you'll see for yourself that the lastest movements correspond to "gingerbread" branch and NOT ICS!!!!!!!
Nah, if you check his github you can tell he's up to something.

Guys I asked one of the guys from MIUI both from their original website and Facebook they said It would a while guessing a few moths.
I was also wondering this, hope it doesnt take too long for it come out.
Hey guys!
Yesterday I read an article about "CyanogenMod no longer delivers support for devices with snapdragons 1"
And as our device is a "cooper one", it seems we are not gonna make it..
Source 1: "CyanogenMod ya no entregará soporte para equipos con Snapdragon S1" - bitly.com/MCS7bU
Source 2: "CyanogenMod formally confirms ceased support for Snapdragon S1 devices past Gingerbread" - bitly.com/MCSGT5
And here is the official post of Cyanogenmod's Team (from Google+):
CyanogenMod 01/08/2012
CM 9+, N1 (and other S1 SoC)
The Nexus One, along with the other first generation Snapdragon devices (devices with the QSD8x50, MSM7x25, MSM7x27 and MSM7x27T SoCs), will not be supported beyond the CM 7.x (Gingerbread) branch.
We’ve been holding off on finalizing this, looking for ways that we could make this work and be happy with the release. Sadly, it never panned out, and we’ve decided that it’s time to stop our efforts.
The Nexus One in particular would have required a custom hboot to repartition the internal memory (which itself was limited to 512 MB, like most devices of that generation) and the proprietary libs available (from 2.3) would have required compromises in the CyanogenMod code that we are not willing to make. The wide variety of MSM7x2x(T) devices, on top of these problems, also have a complete lack of media libraries that are compatible with the new APIs introduced in ICS (video decoding and encoding, specifically). The pieces just aren’t there.
Does the capability to run ICS or Jellybean exist on these devices? Yes, with enough time, effort, and hacks it can be made to work. Do we feel the experience is worth all of that? No.
To measure our releases, we use the same subjective criteria as users do: “speed”, “jank”, “butter”, but also factor in user experience (UX) and other intangibles. However, beyond this is something that we can (and do) use as a ‘pass or fail’ mechanism, the Android Compatibility Test Suite. The CTS is used by device manufacturers to ensure that their changes to Android source do not break Android API, platform and other standards. This, in turn, brings stability to the Play Store for app developers. Breaking CTS would lead to a bad and inconsistent experience for app devs, which in turn would lead to a bad experience for you guys as users. If CyanogenMod was perceived to be blatantly violating CTS, developers could eventually blacklist CyanogenMod users from using their apps (or worse, Google could blacklist CyanogenMod from the Play Store altogether). No one would win by going down that path.
If, in the future, a solution is found that passes CTS, we will revisit the topic.
For users that are adamant about trying to run ICS and beyond, options exist. We are not going to recommend other builds however, as they are more than likely breaking CTS, and therefore our quality assurance standards as well. You can find them if you look in the usual places.

He means future support, that means future updates will take longer because now porting is needed to make it work.
The title is wrong.
You should say we won't get future support from Cyanogenmod.
AOSP still can be compile from source I guess.

ok, understood =/..

We never had and never will have OFFICIAL CM9+ support. UNOFFICIAL builds are what we'll have to live on..
Is this just saying that we wont have official CM9/CM10 support (which we all knew)?
Or is it saying that we will no longer get support from them for CM7?

We will get GB roms.
We just won't get official CM9/10 and support from them for the above.

That will be awesome as Gingerbread is best for the Ace.
ICS slows it down like hell!

agree, ICS+ was made for better devices than the ace.
Gingerbread works better for the ace.

and aosp GB works hell smoother.. even at this moment cm7 lags in front of aosp :silly::laugh:
cm7 may not see cm7.3 but it is alive for patches to existing system not further features

Yeah! I saw the quadrant for AOSP in Ace! It was some 2100 or something!
