is there anybody who allready have an official black HTC Advantage ?
If yes, i would like to use the green today screen - can somebody please upload it ? I have used the one from my Trinity but it is not optimized for landscape usage.
i think now one as it yet. the release day is 13/4/07.

I emailed the guy at egadgetsdepot.com and he says they are in stock ready to ship out. I'm ordering 3 right now for overnight shipping to arrive here by Tuesday. I'll let you guys know.
Well, he's probably out of stock now, then. I ordered one at 08:14pm, and if ltxda, just ordered 3 (I think with something this hot, it should be 1/customer) that takes up the 4 he had left that he communicated to me exactly 55 minutes ago.

I'm very impressed with Stan over at E-gadget Depot. He already sent me the UPS tracking number to ship on Monday with Next Day Air. Too bad my UPS guy always comes in the evening At least I'll finally have it on Tuesday. It seems like I've been waiting forever! I'll let you all know when it shows up.

I got my Advantage/x7500. Came in on Tuesday like Stan promised. They are great at EGadgetDepot.com.
I already have TomTom working on it with a bunch of other software. Only warning I can tell you is DO NOT install the GPRS Monitor that comes on the utility CD. It kept locking up my device.
I'm looking for some desktop enhancements but can't find the post. Anyone can direct me to it?
Also, someone wanted some graphics off of this thing. If you tell me which one you want and how to get it I'll gladly post it up for you.
One more thing...Since I'm in the US and use TMobile, I had to change the band on the phone for it to work. In case anyone runs into this. I initially thought it was my SIM but it was just the band setting.

I don't see any problems with the build quality. I keep wanting to wash my hands because the black glossy keeps picking up my finger prints.

when you say desktop enhancement, what do you mean? please explain a bit more what you want so the rest of us and help you out. btw, welcome to the Athena Family.
As for the black glossy finish, it's one of the thing which makes me think the silver one is better, it just way too easy to get your finger prints on, but at least for silver one, it not visible. Well i guess that is the price you have to pay if you want the sexy black look, just like lots of mobile out here, easy to get finger print one, but people still love it. Just Advantage is quite big, so more easy to get finger prints on and easier for people to see it as well.

I saw a post a while back that had software which allowed you to change the look of the desktop. The "Start" menu looked more like the WinXP Start menu and it allowed you to make the Today screen look MUCH MUCH better. I'm still searching because it was within one of the forums on this site. Annoying when I can't find what I'm looking for.

There are lots of software out there which makes your Today screen looks nice, for changing the start bar: use Wisbar Advance, for today screen, use iLauncher or SPB Pocket Plus, and Pocket Breeze.

Who can ship anywhere internationally and give the best deal? And does this require CID unlocking? Right now this Shift is the lesser evil,not happy with the size. Then again,I havent seen pictures of somebody actually holding a Shift

I think Shifts are unlocked at least the ones that are offered on eBay, afaik. But in order to use the WinMo side fully, you have to liberate it, HardSPL and install one of the ROMs available on this forum to enable GPS. HTC crippled WinMo and locked a lot of functionalities such as GPS, SD card access, Phone, Blue Tooth, and WiFi. Currently we are able to get GPS functioning. We are still working on microphone, video, phone, BT, WiFi and SD.

Where are you located? I'd like to sell mine. It's been used less than half-dozen times. It's fully unlocked and liberated, but I can put it back to original factory default. I'd sell it for US$1000 if you pay for shipping. I am in Brazil, but I can arrange for a friend who lives in the US to take it up with her so so that you pay only for domestic shipping (if you are in the US, that is!)

Why are you selling your Shift?
Are you not happy with it? I have an AT&T Tilt and it is WAY too small for my eyes and hands. I want a phone that is at least twice this size. Looks like the Shift is ideal for me. I'm trying to scrape up enough $$$ to buy one. But when I saw two folks on this thread wanting to sell theirs it worries me a little...
I wouldnt worry about it. Different people have different needs.
I love the shift and even with the failings (no bluetooth or wifi on windows mobile side, etc) it's a great unit.
But it's not really a phone. If you are looking to replace the tilt you might be better looking at an Advantage. Double the screen size, a powerhouse and also a pretty good phone. The advantage would be a double size increase from the tilt IMHO and the shift a four times increase.

Yes. I completely agree with you. I use my shift most of the time on vista side to take notes and read ebooks and listen to audio books. If I could increase the RAM to 2GB I would like to opt out from Dell 620, which I use for .NET and BizTalk development. Once I am done with Vista, I switch to WinMo to get the emails from various email providers, again as soon as I go into a meeting I switch to Vista. That way I found a job for both Samsung Omnia (phone) and Shift personal communicator. I use my advantage as a GPS, personal communicator (IM, email, SMS). I use my Advantage as personal computing power house. I recently retired HTC Hermes and Tilt before switching to Omnia and Shift. Then I found I might need another system which is not small like phone and not big like shift for majority of communication deals. So, I found HTC Advantage as the solution. I got Omnia as handy camera and camcorder (5MP camera and decent camcorder 640x480 with 30fps) and the latest ROM update from Samsung fixed a lot of issues, but still I find having a keyboard would be easier to do a lot of IM and SMS. . Once I got this Shift, I temporarily retired Sony PRS 500. Eventhough it is cool on eyes while you are reading for more than couple of hours, I feel like carrying a lot of gadgets while flying is painful, taking them out and putting them back into the bags is pretty awful especially if you are running out of time.

The opening post on this thread is at least 1 year old! The guy must have bought a shift by now!
Does anyone know where I can find replacement screen protectors exactly like the one that came in the TMobile TP2 box (I couldn't find them on the HTC or TMo sites)? I am very happy with the one that came with it, except it seemed very slightly too wide, then of course I trimmed too much to make it fit, when leaving it alone was the much better option

Contacted Case-Mate to know if the ones for the Sensation XL work for the Titan but they said no. (Probably because of the round border on the Android ones).

Does the job but there is a small problem with charging the phone
The case is so thick that the mini USB plug is too short, which means every time you want to charge your phone you have to take it out of the case or take the phone out of its original case (like the way getting access to battery/sim)... and loose the signal.

Weird ... because I got not at all this problem ; all is ok with plug-in micro-USB slot , I never take the Titan off the case since I installed it

In general, I bought Vaja or Piel Frama (a lot more expensive !), and even if this one is not of the same quality (it's not leather) it does perfectly the job. Don't know if I'll change for one of those when they made a case for Titan ...

Inquired PowerSkin. It is not in the make of yet, but are considering it. One is already available for the HTC Sensation, but won't fit the Titan.
I found these by PDAir ... they also sold product on amazon. It seems really nice but I can't find any review. People on the net seems to complain a lot about their shipping which can take up to 20 days. Sorry I am not allow to post link yet. But do a search on Amazon or google PDAir and they have several products.

put a screen protector on it right away, with silicon cover too, got a windsheild mount for it as well, and yet, the more i use it, the less i like it..
my g1, i used all the time...so configurable, but the radar, is locked up so tight, its not fun to even use.

The smaller size is better. I get too many 4.3" phones. The only tmo android phone I got is a mytouch 3g. I have a bionic right now that's gsm capable, but its mint, would like to have cash on top. But I have another bionic coming on another trade that's near mint with a windshield dock I could straight trade that one for you np. Ill do the gsm unlock for it.

You still possibly interested in a trade? Take a look at the HD7 section here to look at the development for it compared to the Radar. I think it would be worth a shot for you to try that.
